Full Character Name: Callum J. Knight
    Character Birthday & Age: October 17, 1992 ::  17
City & Country of Birth: Kilburn, Derbyshire, England
    Pureblood, Halfblood or Muggleborn: Pureblood
House & Year: Slytherin, 5th Year

Wand: 11 1/2 Inches, Cocobolo, Rigid, Kelpie mane hair core

Physical Description: In Callum's own words, he would call himself tall, dark, and handsome- which is not very far from the truth. He is tall for his age, standing at close to six feet tall, but by the time he finishes growing he will probably top out at a few inches over. Were he shorter, he could easily be described as stocky. He has a thicker build, though he is by no means fat or at all out of shape. Due to his interests in boxing and quidditch Callum is fairly fit.

His skin tone is a bit darker than average, due to the mixed ethnicity of his parents. In the summer time he gets even darker. Callum is proud of his heritage, and thinks his skin tone makes him more attractive. His hair is dark, and he keeps it cut very close to his head. He has discovered that it is more convenient that way. With a knack for getting into fights, it's better to not have hair that can be pulled by his opponent. Callum's eyes are an interesting shade of green-brown, somewhere between medium and dark in shade. He has a very masculine jaw, and is always clean shaven. Although he is proud of the fact his facial hair can grow in thicker than others his age, he thinks that facial hair is inappropriate on a boy of his heritage.

Callum is very concerned with his outward appearance. He makes sure that his school uniform is always in proper order, and it is always clean and pressed. If outside of uniform he wears only the nicest of clothes, in flattering cuts and shades. Callum believes that clothes make the man.

Personality Description: Callum's temper is very short, which shows in his extremely confrontational nature. It is almost as though the young man thrives on fights- both fist fights and magical duels. He looks for any excuse to pick a fight with someone, and sometimes he doesn't need an excuse at all. He particularly enjoys tormenting Hufflepuffs. It is unfortunate for those who get into altercations with Callum that he takes boxing classes while he is not at school, and that his best magical strength is his wand work.

Callum Knight thinks that he is the best thing to walk the earth. He is good with his wand and with his fists, he thinks of himself as being very good looking, and tends to have a lot of people to socialize with. It is obvious to anyone, just from his swagger, that Callum thinks far too highly of himself. As such it takes quite a lot to wound his ego, and if someone manages to pop a hole in his ballooned up head, he sulks about it.

One of Callum's most annoying traits is his chauvinism. Having been raised in an old fashioned, pureblood family he believes that women are subservient to men. Although he would never physically harm or degrade a woman, as that is completely ungentlemanly, he assumes that they are the weaker sex. This normally would not be a problem but he tends to have a habit of trying to put women in their places and as such has very few female friends and finds it a bit more difficult than it ought to be to find any women who would have a romantic interest in him.

He's not all bad, though. Though he is confrontational, arrogant, and stubborn, like all people Callum has a few redeeming qualities. He understands that his education is important, and tends to do very well in his classes. Callum also has no problem in offering tutelage to those who might need it (so long as they are within his own house), even if it is for selfish reasons. (Then they are indebted to him and it feeds his ego to know he is better at something than someone else.)

Although it can be difficult to to get past his negative traits and less than spotless reputation, if a person can manage to befriend Callum he makes a great associate to have. Although he doesn't go out of his way for friends, or would never take a bullet for them, he does enjoy helping them out if it means he gets to have a little fun and get his hands dirty in the mean time. He will defend them against others if he needs to (depending on who the person is that he would be confronting on their behalf).

Callum enjoys having fun. Perhaps the most surprising aspect of Callum's personality is his adventurous nature. He enjoys trying new things, and loves finding something to do to kill the time. Callum has no qualms about investigating the forbidden forest or poking around in the lake. He can be the life of a party if no one pushes his buttons and puts him into a foul mood.

History: Callum is the eldest of five. He has three younger brothers, and one younger sister. Growing up, his parents tried to treat all of their children equally. His sister did get a lot of special treatment, but since she was the only girl, most didn’t begrudge her of this. Callum, however, was different. It wasn’t long before he started playing with his brothers, and fighting with them, as brothers often do. He learned to fight at an early age, and has always been somewhat quarrelsome.

Before going to Hogwarts, Callum’s mother homeschooled all of her children. She taught them everything they needed to know, magical and non magical alike to prepare them for school. They were always playing with their cousins, and were very well adjusted socially. Callum always caused her the most trouble. He was always getting into things he shouldn’t be into, disappearing for hours on end for “adventures”, and getting into fights with other children. It seemed Callum’s mother and father were always running after him to clean up his messes.

Callum was always very close to his father, and to his brother Darren. When Callum started Hogwarts, he missed Darren the most. He couldn't wait until his little brother would be joining the school with him the following year. Callum's first year was a difficult one. It was hard to be away from home and not be treated as though he were king of the castle. He also discovered that many others were raised differently from him, and could not believe the fact that he was going to school with muggleborns- it was a disgrace to the wizarding world.

In his second year, since he knew his wand work was very strong, he began to work hardest with Transfiguration and Charms. It was in his second year that he began picking his fights. He would challenge others to wand duels, and if he was losing, would decide to fight them otherwise. He neglected his school work, made horrid grades, and didn’t really care. He got into lots of trouble this year, with his housemates, professors, and parents. The following summer he would find himself grounded the whole time.

In his third year he finally got his act back together. He finally got to take elective classes, and he was oddly excited about it. Callum found that he had a natural talent for Divination. His mother told him it was because her family had a few seers in their line. Callum also took up care of magical creatures. He enjoyed this class almost as much. There was something fun and at times even dangerous about learning about the wild animals of the magical world. This year was definitely not a repeat of the one before. He busted his butt to make good grades and not screw up.

Fourth year was equally successful for Callum gradewise. He already began to feel the pressure of the OWLs that would be happening his following year. He worked hard this year to keep up with his grades. Callum also came upon a new discovery- girls were quite lovely. Callum began to show interest in the fairer sex, and found that flirting could quell his restless nature almost as well as fighting could. He also discovered that his views on women tended to make it a bit more difficult to have any sort of successful flirtation.

How Do You Fit Into Your House?: Every great leader needs muscle to take care of things, and Callum is the type of muscle that the more ambitious Slytherins need as a partner to get things done. Though he lacks the outward ambition and drive that most in his house has, Callum does not intend to waste his life away. He just sees no point in working hard to get to the top, when he is set up for life via his inheritance and family name. Callum is cold hearted and emotionless (except for anger and disgust). He is ruthless, and will stop at nothing to get what he wants if he decide that something actually is worth working for. He is a terrible enemy to have, vengeful and angry if crossed, but an extremely useful ally if you can manage to befriend a boy as contrary as he is. He doesn't mind doing the dirty work for others, he finds that it not only makes life more fun but tends to give him a more intimidating reputation.

Sum up your character in one paragraph: Callum is your typical Slytherin pureblood. He is arrogant, short tempered, and has a superiority complex. Lacking motivation and ambition in most areas of his life, he tends to be the muscle for others- enjoying getting his hands dirty. He is quarrelsome, and a bit of a trouble maker. All in all he has a very negative reputation among those within and outside of his house.

    Special Title Request: Quidditch Captain

    Character Name: Callum Knight
    Title Applying For: Quidditch Captain

What Experience has Prepared You For This Honor?: Callum is a beater on the Slytherin quidditch team. He is athletically inclined, and it is stated in his bio that he exercises/trains regularly.
What Do You Think the Most Important Aspect of This Job Is:? It is important to organize the team, and ensure team work. Though Callum does have some enemies in the Slytherin house, he can be quite convincing. If nothing else, maybe he will have to scare them into cooperation and practice.
Tell a Story From Your Past That Has Proven Your Mettle:  Taking a look at the quidditch roster, it seems most other quidditch players have fallen inactive. With Ava's death, and I think Erin Harper being the only other active quidditch player, it would be natural for Callum to seek out the position of power in the quidditch team. He's always been bitter about not being a prefect considering he makes good grades and (according to him) is good at everything. So if the captain position opened up, and there was little opposition, he would go right for it.

Though he has recently had some issues with his professors, Callum has apoogized and returned to his classes. He also made up the work, and has good grades in his classes. Given the fact that lately he is determined to turn a new leaf, and prove to others that he is responsible and more than a bully, this could be an opportunity for him not only to make friends, but to bring the quidditch team together and stir up some interest in Slytherin house for others to join the team.

That being said, Callum is good at quidditch. He's currently a beater on the team, and is skilled. Callum is the sort of person who would take the position seriously because of how it would affect Slytherin house and his own reputation (which we all know is his main priority). Organizing practices, exercising, etc. could be a better outlet for his teenage frustrations and angst. His biography states that he takes boxing classes over break and that he cares about his body and takes care of it. So it would seem as though, at least athletically and skill set wise, he could be a good match for the position.

    Character Name: Callum Knight
    Link to Accepted Biography: http://absitomen.com/index.php?topic=8002.0
    Previous Job/Position: 6th Year Slytherin
Position Applying For: Beater for Falmouth Falcons (Quidditch Secondary)

Why have you chosen to change careers?: Callum's father is the main reason he would decide to leave Hogwarts after his OWLs to pursue quidditch. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity, and his father thinks it will help Callum get the immaturity out of his system before he has to marry his betrothed (Imogen Marsh). Callum pretty much does what Daddy says, and it's an enchanting prospect, so he has agreed to go along with it.

Elaborate on your expertise in this new field: I've been writing that Callum was scouted at the last quidditch game- and with his grand show, his team winning, and taking that bludger to face he impressed the talent scouts. His father hired an agent who managed to negotiate him a contract. He was the captain of the Slytherin quidditch team, and is very skilled on a broom.

Describe your new job and how you go about doing it: Callum's job would be as a beater for the Falmouth Falcons. (Probably second string, but since it's not taken at the moment he can play if we have any organized quidditch games.) It would be his job to hit the other team with bludgers and protect his own team from bludgers.
