Blood Purity: Halfblood
Alma Mater: Slytherin
Job/Position: Senior Auror
Wand: Ashwinder Core, Cocobolo Wood, 13''. The wand is stored within an expensive walking.
Physical Description:
When you first see Honorius few would expect him to be a powerful Wizard. He is very thin, though perfectly healthy, but he does stand at 6'4''. He seems like he would break in a fight with most people and that a strong breeze could blow him over. As mentioned above he is very fit due to the demands of his job as an Auror. His forehead, around his mouth and around his eyes are wrinkled and he appears as much as a decade older than he is due to stress. His hands are also wrinkled.
His hair is jet black and flows backwards. When not in Auror uniform he usually wears an expensive black suit with a long black cloak behind him. His eyes seem to noticeably protrude from his forehead, especially when he is angry at someone or something.
His ears are larger than average, he used to be called elephant boy by the muggle students. He always carries a cane with a gold tip at the end and an intricate silver handle. Inside the wand, not unlike Lucius Malfoy, is his wand. His wand is a deep red colour.
Personality Description: Honorius is from an ancient Wizarding family and he is proud of that. Like most former and current Slyhterin's Honorius is proud of himself and rather cocky. He will happily boast about his magical skills. However he doesn't make false claims as he believes they will come back to haunt you sooner or latter. He was always ambitious. He wanted to become an auror and a skilled wizard and he has achieved this. However he has no wish to become the Head of the Auror Office ever. He enjoys his job immensely. Stopping criminals has been important to him since his father was killed by a two-bit-wandmaker. Revenge is something Honorius will seek with just as much dedication as catching criminals and he is very dedicated. He almost killed the man and he fully intends to do so. This has lead him to put his Auror duties second as he spends any free time he has hunting down his fathers killer. Once he is on a criminals trail he will hunt them until he finds them. This could take hours or years and it is all the same to him. In his mind every criminal will slip up one day and patience is a virtue that he has learned to appreciate.
Few things make him happier than seeing a criminal brought to justice.
One of the few things that make him happier is his son. His son is all he has left of his wife and he treasures him above everything else. Cicero, following the ancient family tradition of giving a child a roman name, is the light of his life. He would not think twice about killing someone for even looking at him the wrong way. The law keeps order and so he usually respects it. However if breaking the law to stop a criminal will prevent deaths or other laws being broken he will do it. Or when he is looking for revenge. Honorius appears to be a gentleman. He has been likened to an aristocrat, which may stem from his families wealth. The family name is important to him and he knows that what he does reflects the family name. He also has an old dislike for muggles, though not muggle borns. He believes that Wizards and Witches are superior to Muggles. This has lead to Honorius looking past a few of the lesser Muggle involved incidents. For example he may not take wizard/muggle violence seriously. He does have limits though and if a wizard killed a muggle he would step in and do something. Also in the past he has lost a criminal by ignoring the eye witness report of a muggle or taking the word of a lying Wizard than that of a truth telling Muggle. He was also brought up to believe that men were superior to woman but his wife changed all that.
He has a very cold demeanor and he rarely shows any visible sign of worry. He usually seems uninterested in most things and rarely shows any emotion. The only exception is when he is angry. He totally changes and getting out of the way is highly recommenced. He is however usually civil, even with people he can't stand. He also finds most people insignificant. He respects powerful wizards and witches but those who have little magical ability are not so important in his view; however he has sworn to protect them and he takes his oath seriously. He also keeps his word - always. His word is something that you can rely on 100% and he never breaks a promise, though he rarely makes them because of this. Honorius also likes to be the best. Honorius believes that new Aurors should be thrown into the deep end. He is happy to mentor new Aurors but he will not babysit them.
His lack of emotion has it's downside however. It can harm his investigative abilties as he is unable to pretend to relate to the criminal or appeal to their emotional side to get information out of them. This has lead to him mainly tracking and catching the bad guys rather than being the one who pretends to give a crap about their lives to get them to spill the beans. He also believes Aurors should be allowed to use the Unforgivable Curses if they are going up against a known killer or former death eater.
History: The Stilicho family is one of the oldest wizarding families still alive today. The first recorded member of the family was Flavius Stilicho. His father had been a Roman Senator and he inherited his father's fortune. This is where the families fortunes began and although, through the years, their fortunes have gone up and down over the years but in recent years their fortune has grown once more. Honorius would be the first of the family to attend Hogwarts, he was sorted into Slytherin, and the majority of his family would of been sorted into the same house. Although blood purity has not been an important factor for a few years blood is important to the family. The family sticks together and if you have the same last name your expected to do anything for one another. The family are also known for their dislike of muggles and their belief that Wizards are superior.
Honorius Stilicho is a half-blood member of an ancient wizarding family that stretches back to the Roman republic. His mother was Circe Stilicho and his father was William Arthur Georgesson. Although it is traditional to take your father's name Honourius' maternal family insisted that he continue the Stilicho family name continue. Circe was born in Italy while Honorius was born in London, though he holds dual citizenship. Honorius' sister, Cybele, was bon 8 years before him. When he was born it was already suspected that Cybele was a squib, the first squib to be born in the Stilicho family for over four hundred years.
Honorius was brought up with the traditional values of the Stilicho family. Muggles were inferior to Wizards and Witches, Witches were inferior to Wizards. He was also taught to, always, act like a gentleman. You could hate the person your talking to but if you didn't act like a gentleman then you were disrespecting the family name. He gained his first wand when he was five, much younger than most wizards. The wand, which he still has to this day, was eventually placed inside a walking stick. He has no emotional attachment to his wand, and never has, to him it is simply a tool to be used. Ashwinder Ash was the core, uncommon in England but not so much in Italy. His wand was not from Olivanders, instead, he traveled to Lombardy. The wands were from the premier wand maker in Italy, and it cost quite a bit.
By the time Honourius had received his first wand it was clear that his older sister was a squib. His mother began to treat her as if she was invisible. Honourius had been brought up to despise muggles and squibs, though not Muggleborns, and up until then he did. However he loved his sister and although he dislikes Muggles to this day he treats Squibs with a deep respect. It was during his 6th year that his father died. Although he was married into a very rich family he was from a proud working class family and he took up a job working for a shop in Diagon Alley. He was a proud man and would do anything for his family but he was a bad duelist. So when he was asked to shut up shop and a wizard entered and demanded money he decided to do as he was told. He gave him everything in the till but he was killed any way.
Honourius was deeply affected by his father's death; who wouldn't be? He was only a child and he could not understand why any one would kill his father? It was then that he vowed to become the best duelist he could and join the Auror corps to hunt down criminals like that. This aim would stick with him throughout his entire life. Unlike most children he never changed his mind about his chosen profession. His family life changed greatly after his death. His mother turned to drink soon after and Honourius began to look after himself more, though the family had a group of servants to help with chores. So his family life was not the happiest and when it came for him to leave the family mansion for Hogwarts his only regret was leaving his sister behind with his mother.
When he arrived he was sorted into Slytherin within seconds of the hat touching his head. Although he spoke with a British accent, had traditional British manners and enjoyed the British weather Honourius knew more about the Italian school that his family had attended compared to his knowledge of Hogwarts. He knew little about the houses and the history of the school. He never made an emotional attachment to the school like so many students before him, but he did enjoy his time at the school.
He was moderately popular. He had traditional Slytherin attitudes to most thing but his half-blood status stopped him from climbing the ranks of the Slytherin popularity ranks. Although he attended most of the social events they were secondary to his main concern which was always academics. A few subjects he found useless: Astronomy, Arithmancy and Divination the main culprits. He focused on the subjects he needed to become an Auror. During arguments he attempted to settle disputes with words, however he lost his house many points due to dueling in the corridors. As he aged he won more and more of his duels and in his last two years he was undefeated.
Many of his peers were enticed by the idea of joining Voldemort, The Dark Lord, He Who Must Not Be Named or what ever you want to call him. It is not hard to imagine a word in which Honourius became one of Voldy's best lieutenants. He was a skilled Wizard, especially in aggressive magic, and he was very ambitious. He disliked Muggles and believed Wizards were superior and he was from a very ancient family, though his blood was a little diluted as his fathers parents were both Half-Bloods. However he hated criminals after what one did to his father.
In both his O.W.L.S and his N.E.W.T.S he gained Os in every subject, well there was one exception. In his SOAR O.W.L. exam he got a D. He hated the subject and only took it because his Grandfather had wrote several books on the subject. He left Hogwarts that year and decided to take a year off. For the first month he went home and relaxed with his sister. By now his mother had kicked the drink and she was very sorry for the way she had missed their childhood. The family became closer since then.
When he graduated his sister was 26. She had more or less left the Wizarding world. She was working as a Hairdresser in Northern Scotland. She had married her teenager sweet heart and she already had a son. After the first month he traveled to Russia where he gained more experience in Dueling. The dueling school he attended was ran by an ex-Auror of the Russia Ministry of Magic and he enjoyed it immensely.
He joined the Auror corps the next year and started a three year training programme. The training was intense but he revelled in that sort of work. However he nearly flunked. Although he is a very skilled wizard he has one fatal flaw - he is rubbish at healing magic. Most wounds are beyond his means and he only just scrapped past the healing part of Auror training, and that was after intense training with a healer at St.Mungos. During his Auror training he began training to become an Occlumens. It took many years to full master Occlumency but he is able to protect his mind from all but the most powerful and most determined attacker. As he controls his emotions and rarely lets things effect him he has a natural control of his own mind, this made it easier, though not easy, for him to master the ability.
He was 24 when he became an Auror in full. It was a very proud moment for him. One of the things he originally hated about the job was the rigid way the office was ran. He works best when he can do what he wants and dislikes people watching over his shoulder. This eventually decreased as he gained more experience and when he became a Senior Auror.
When he was 28 he married a fellow Auror named Emily Francis. Emily was the love of his life and it was the only time he has ever been in love. Honorius, who usually worked better alone, was a better Auror beside his wife and she was better beside him. When he was 32 she gave birth to their son, Cicero.
There life was perfect. But within a year it would change.
In 1995 Voldemort returned to the Wizarding World with fury. However most in the Auror office thought Dumbledore was a fool. Honourius was sure this was out of fear. All Aurors were skilled duelists, but the general feeling was that no Auror would win a one on one battle with the Dark Lord and that only one man in the world could- and he was not the ministry's best buddy. He was prepared to die if need be. But his new family was more important to him than he could put into words.
He wanted his wife and his child to leave and go to Italy to live with his extended family. However she refused to run away and after 1996 they fought side by side against Death Eaters.
The war was furious and many Aurors died. At 34 he found himself separated from he rest of the Auror team he had been assigned to. They were hunting down a Death Eater who was believed to be one of Voldemorts favourites. He was attacked and a vicious duel ensued. The duel ended in The Death Eaters death and lead to Honorius' promotion to Senior Auror. There was no time to celebrate. Within the year he and his wife were sent with a younger Auror to track down a traitor. They were ambushed by a number of Death Eaters. All but two of the death eaters were killed but his wife was shot by a killing curse just as she killed the last Death Eater.
Her death was the second time someone close to him had died. He gained leave from the Auror corps for a year and he spent that time with his son. He was unsure if he would get through it and it was mainly his mother, who had let him down during his childhood, that stepped up. She got him through it and offered to look after his son while he was working.
He hunted down every ex-Death Eater that he could find. He caught many former Death Eaters and many more criminals. For his entire career he had followed the rules but in his 40th year he tortured a man to death.
Honorius had been assigned to show the ropes to a younger auror. It was not, as you can imagine, the favoured assingment for him but he really had no choice in the matter. Not wanting to put the young auror in to much danger on his first assingment Honorius was stopped from hunting down murder's and dark wizards and instead forced to track down some dodgy wand dealer. The whole exercise was a waste of his valuable time and the young auror just made everything worse. They tracked him, he was living miles away from civilisation, to his home and went inside. Once he was detained the younger auror forced his way into the man's mind and found out that he was none other than the man who had killed Honorius' father decades ago. Honorius' stoic exterior crumbled in seconds. He pulled his wand and was about to curse him, fully intending to kill the man no matter what would happen to him, but the younger auror launched himself at Honorius and knocked him to the floor. In that second the wand maker apparated into thin air and was gone.
Once Honorius realised what the young auror had done, or stopped him from doing, he was furious. He pulled his wand on him and threw him across the room causing quite bad injuries.Realising what he had done, and what the consequences could be, Honorius began to plan how he could walk free without any blame. First be contacted a friend of his, an Obliviator, and asked him to wipe the lands memories. Honorius was sure he could do it himself but the wizard did this for a day job.
The Auror office naturally investigated the incident. But Honorius had a stroke of luck as the Auror who was tasked to investigate the incident was some one he had fought with in the Second Wizarding War. With careful persuasion he was able to get the Auror to clear Honorius of any wrong doing. The younger Auror failed his training due to his forgetfullness. Although Honorius has officially been cleared of any and all suspiciosn many in the Auror coprs believe there is more to the story than meets the eye.
For three years he has been hunting the man down. He is sure he has fled the country and he intends to find him, and kill him, if it is the last thing he ever does.
Describe your job duties and how you go about them: Auror- An Auror is an elite Dark Wizard Catcher. They solve all sorts of crimes but Honorius, as a senior Auror, has more control over his own assingments and he prefers major crimes that involve Dark Magic.
Elaborate on your expertise in your field: Honorius, first of all, has the accademic credentials needed to be an Auror. He is an excellent Duelist, after Hogwarts he studied with a Russian Auror who runs a school about dueling. He is also a dueling champion. He is a skilled investigator also. He doesn't let his emotions get in the way of his day to day life. Pleading for forgivness would not help the person he was pursuing. Honorius is very dedicated and will not give up easily.
Writing Sample: Sum up your character in one paragraph: Honorius is a dedicated Auror and father. Few things seem to bother him and he tries to keep his cool. However he has a terrible anger. He is a talented Wizard and he also dislikes Muggles, but not muggle borns. He is rather cynical about most things in the world and also tactless. If something is on his mind he will say it without thinking about how it will effect another person. He finds few people important or impressive and he has very high standards; impressing him is nigh on impossible.
