    House & Year: Ravenclaw, 7th

Wand: 11 1/2 inches, Hawthorn, Unicorn Hair

    Physical Description:
Henry is neither the best or worst looking individual, most would call him average looking. He is very self conscious about his appearance however and he constantly underestimates his appearance. He stands at an average height, and ever slightly above weight. This is due to the fact that a few years ago he put on quite a bit of weight. Most of it has gone know and he is more or less the correct weight. His eyes are bright green and oval shape, he gets these from his father. Above them are two large and bushy eye brows. Unknown to anyone else he plucks his eye brows to stop two becoming one;  if you catch my drift.

His chest and shoulders are rather broad, his body shape has been described as a rugby players, and if he wanted to work out he could have quite a strong chest. His finger nails, though clean, are not even as he chews them when nervous. He also chews his top when he is bored or in a state of deep thought; usually when he is stuck on a certain question.

His hair is blonde/brown and varies in length through the year. It is usually short but if he gets lazy it can get quite long. However it never gets long enough to reach his shoulders- when it gets near that length he always does something about it. His hair is always clean but that is all he does with it. He does not care about hair styles at all. He has a similar stance with fashion. As long as it is clean and looks ok he will wear it.

    Personality Description:
Henry is not the most out going of people. He is uncomfortable in large crowds and meeting new people is not something he enjoys or looks forward to. This does not extend to his family. His family are the most important thing in the world to him. When at Hogwarts he misses them more than anything and he would do anything for them. It also does not apply to adults, he finds it easier to talk to them than people his own age or younger.

He is more mature than many his age. Many his age see him as rather dull. He keeps to the rules, dislikes joking about and would much rather get on with his school work. At 17 he is legally an adult in the Wizarding world but not in the Muggle world. This is a good example of how he is split between two different worlds. It is hard sometimes but he has more or less adjusted well. Most of the time the Magical world is more interesting but his family are more important to him. He also enjoys Muggle history to HOM. Henry is considered intelligent, the reason he is a ravenclaw. He is very good in class and brilliant at potions. Henry also has a brilliant general knowledge as he has a great thirist to learn and a love of books; he can usually be found reading one.

Like most 17 year old boys Henry is attracted to girls. However he has never had a serious relationship. The main reason is his trouble with strangers. However he is also rather insecure about his appearance. Although most would not consider him ugly he is not the best looking guy in the world. He put on a bit of weight a few years ago, he has lost most of it now, and he hates to think people think he is fat. He is also petrified of failure. He wants to have a good future and he wants to do well.

Henry dislikes people who are less intelligent than he is, it is actually something he can be rather stuck up about. He does not mind if they are younger than he is but when they are the same age or older he finds them irritating. If he understands something and someone in the same year doesn't he will not waste his time explaining, though if they are younger he would do so without hesitation.

Apart from the above he is generally a nice person once you get to know him, if he lets you that is. If your into partying though he would likely not get on with you, he prefers staying with in his own little shell. One thing he prefers about the muggle world to the wizarding world is music. He enjoys classical muggle music, he also likes Opera and music from certain musicals (mainly Les Mislerables.)

Henry has strong morales. He thinks killing any living thing is disgusting, he finds eating meat terrible but he does not push this onto others, and the way some mutants treat House elves is evil. He also hates the way people treat Werewolves and legal Vampires. He also has good manners, he respects his elders immensely and has been taught to treat woman well.

Generally most people do not notice him. He keeps himself to himself and has a small circle of close friends and he is fine with that.

    History:
Henry was born in northern England; the son of Richard and Elizabeth Somerville. He was there first child. When he was born the family lived in a bustling city, but within a month of his birth his mother and father decided to leave the city. They left their jobs and bought a farm. The farm was beautiful. It had a lake and was right next to a forest. Though there were many animals on the farm Richard and Elizabeth were vegetarians and didn't slaughter any of them. Growing up on the farm was like a massive adventure for Henry, one that he would share with four siblings. Within a year Gavin was born. A year latter he was followed by Elizabeth. For four years there were no more children. During those four years the three children played for hours a day on the farm None of the children went to school, there mother was a retired teacher and she decided to home school them herself. From a young age Henry, or Harry to the family, was very intelligent. Obviously he was not taught transfiguration but he excelled in Science, History and other similar subject. However he hated everything about maths. Henry was a veggie from a very young age  and he hated the idea of eating meat. The family had chickens, horses, goats, cows and an army of pets. Along with his studies Henry had chores around the farm. This taught him allot about responsibility from a young age.

His family have always been very close. His father was once a very rich and successful man. He was also a generous man, he gave most of his money to charity when he bought the farm. Richard was not the strict parent, he was the parent who did most of the playing. He would play football with them in the fields almost daily. Elizabeth was far stricter, though no less loving. This was mainly due to the fact that she was also the children's teacher. An interesting thing about his mother was her library. She had countless books that Henry would read for hours and hours. Of all the children he was the only one who was interested in reading.

When Henry was seven the latest addition to the family was born, well two of them. His mother gave birth to two twins, Daniel and Laura. To all five children magic was nothing more than a fairytale. But latter that year they would begin to think differently. Harry was out in the farm with the rest of the family. By now he had became more interesting in reading than physical activities and instead of climbing the trees and the like. When his brother, Gavin, was climbing a tree Henry was sitting below reading. Gavin slipped and when Henry saw this he tried to catch him. However instead of catching him Gavin stopped in mid air. He hovered for a few seconds and then slowly drifted to the floor. This was seen by the entire family and they all saw Henry do it. But surely it was impossible?

No one talked about it. It all seemed to...weird. Being underage Henry had no control of the magic inside of him. His family were all muggles and none of them had any idea about what was going on. Over the years these strange occurrences happened here and there. Henry was petrified and so were his parents. Having read X Men comics his parents thought he was some kind of mutant. They told no one, scared of what would happen to their son.

When he was 11 a letter arrived at the door. He had been given an invitation to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizadry. No one took this seriously. They were, in fact, scared that someone had found out about their son. Henry was not told about this and due to this more and more invitations arrived. When owls started to appear his family began to believe. The letter told them what he would need and they found out about diagon alley. They traveled to London and they attempted to find the place. Eventually they found a small pub where they were told to go to a brick wall. The man touched certain bits and Henry saw the bricks move infront of him.

Seeing Diagon alley for the first time was, up until then, the most magical experience of his life. Real witches and wizards were infront of him, Goblins were walking about and talking books. He saw brooms and owls and Henry loved it all. They were totally over whelmed and they only found the robe shop on the first day. The family rented a room in muggle London and over the week gained everything they needed.

His parents could not get their head around the whole experience. They first experienced some what controlled magic on a first had basis when they visited Olivander's. Henry was given a wand to wave and papers flew across the room. The next wand he gained was to be his. They left Diagon Alley for home after that and traveled home. The family had a long talk and it was explained that Henry would be going away for the school year. His siblings were unhappy but Henry was very excited.

In preparation he delved into books every day. This was nothing knew. But the books he was reading about were magical. When the day came for him to leave for Hogwarts he was teary. As it was such a long way away he left with his father to stay in London the night before.

He found out that he needed to run into a wall to get to a train. He did it. But not without sweating. When he got to the other side, and opened his clenched eyes, he was amazed. It had worked. He got onto the train and sat down. From the very start he realised he was not good with mixing with other people. He had never really had any great friends except his family and making conversation with other students was not easy for him. He didn't mean to be rude but that is how it came across.

He enjoyed getting to Hogwarts across the pond, he has always loved the water, but he was not so thrilled when another student told him of the multitude of animals that lived in the lake.

Seeing Diagon alley for the first time was amazing. But nothing compared to Hogwarts. It is impossible to put it into words. When it was his turn to be sorted he was petrified. Ravenclaw was chosen and he went to the respective table.

His first class was potions. This would become both his favourite and his best lesson. Followed by DADA. In the first few lessons of most lessons he was at a disadvantage; being muggle born. Within a few weeks though he was excelling in most classes due to how hard he studied.

The first year at Hogwarts was...amazing. But also daunting. He was never good at mixing with others, something he still has problems with today.

His second year was easier. He had friends, thought not that many, and he really enjoyed school as it became harder. His siblings were very jealous. He could perform magic and they couldn't. They asked him many times to show him; but he was told at Hogwarts what would happen if he did that. He told them they would have to wait until he was 17. Although he Is an excellent student, he excelled in Potions, and to a lesser extent DADA. But potions Is his favourite lesson. It was around his second year that he decided what he wanted to do after Hogwarts; well he narrowed it down to two professions. The first was a potioneer. He didn't know yet if he would open his own shop, work for someone else or perhaps see if the ministry offered some job for potioneers. The other was Auror. He was a good duelist, taking part in dueling club, and he liked the idea of being an Auror.

Henry was always quite an inward character so he didn't show of to his family. He didn't make fun of hi siblings for not being able to make things fly with a flick of a wand. He enjoyed the time he spent on the farm. It was good to be back with his family and among normal animals. He loved Hogwarts but always misses home.

The thing he hated most during lessons was being called out to ask a question by a teacher. He is generally shy by nature so even when he has the correct answer he usually keeps his hand down and his nose in a book.

By his fourth year it was obvious that Elizabeth and Gavin had no magical talent. Elizabeth was fine with this but Gavin was rather envious. Mainly when he found out that Dragons were real. However at the start of his fourth year the two twins showed signs of magical ability. When Henry found this out he was over the moon and couldn't wait for them to go to Hogwarts.

His fourth and fifth year's were filled with study for his O.W.L.S. There are not many things Henry is confident about. His intelligence and dueling skills are the main ones. However his mind was filled with thoughts of failure. He often woke up at night due to this and it plauged his dreams.

In his O.W.L.S he gained the following results.

    Potions: O
    DADA: O
    Herbology: O
    Charms: EE
    Transfiguration: O
     Study of Ancient Runes: O
    Care of Magical Creatures: O
    History of Magic:O
    Astronomy: EE

Henry is now focused on gaining his N.E.W.T.S and then he has decided to work with potions full time; though how exactly is still unknown to him. Far into the future he would like to teach his favourite subject at Hogwarts.

How Do You Fit Into Your House?: Henry is very smart and logical. He enjoys reading and could happily read a book for an entire day and spend the next debating it with others.

    Writing Sample:
    "Ah, come on Harry?"

"Gav, you know I can't, I have told you a million times," Henry replied. Henry, Harry to his family, was 16 and had just returned from Hogwarts. The sun was beating down over the family farm and Henry, and his 15 year old brother Gavin, decided to go for a swim.

Near their farm was a pond. By now they had dried of and were sitting at the bank of the pool. Henry's shoes were beside him. Poking out of them were two fluffy green socks that his eldest sister, 14 year old Elizabeth, had made for him before he left for Hogwarts. His bare feet were under the water as he enjoyed spending time with his brother. The wind was blowing gently across his face and the sun was just starting to set behind the hills in the distance Henry could hear a variety of animals in the distance. Cows, Chickens, Dogs and a multitude of more. All of this made him smile...he was home. He loved Hogwarts but he missed his home when he was away.

"Why not? Come on Harry show me some magic."

"I am underage Gav. And any way your a muggle. I could get in allot of trouble with the ministry."

"The ministry? That is like the government, right?"

Henry nodded. He disliked talking about the wizarding world with Gavin. Gavin and Elizabeth were muggles and Gavin would of loved to of been born a Wizard. When they were a few years younger their relationship went through a few rough spots when Gavin blamed him, he refused to speak to him for a while. During the school year they had sent Owls back and forth and had made up. However Henry always felt bad talking about magic with Gavin. Infact he felt guilty.

Just as guilt began to build up in the pit of his stomach his youngest sister ran towards him and hugged him. Laura was 10, and unlike Gavin, she was a witch and would be attending Hogwarts next year. She kissed him on his cheek and then spoke.

"Harry, Mom, Daniel and I are going to Diagone Alley tomorrow. She wanted to know if you'd come. After all you know it better than we do, please Henry."

He smiled at her pronunciation. He loved how at ease he could be at home. At Hogwarts he was always self conscious. "Yea no problem," he decided not to correct her, "I know what you may like, it's not my cup of tea but you know. We should go to Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes." A joke shop was not Henry's personal idea of fun; but he would tolerate it if it made his siblings happy.

    "What's that?" Asked Gavin.

"It's a magical joke shop, opened by twins. Like I said I don't like it but you might.

"Yea. But your just boring," mocked his sister. "Oooh Harry, can we go to Olivander's first. I really really want my own wand. I want one like yours," She pointed to Henry's wand. It was 11 1/2 inches long and made of Hawthorn with a Unicorn Hair core. The wand was a very light brown, in the right light it looked white. It had no real handle and it seemed like a very smooth piece of wood, well apart from a small knobby bit on the bottom of the wand.

"Well we'll see. But you don't choose your own wand. The wand chooses the Wizard, well witch in your case."

Sum up your character in one paragraph: Henry is very smart, he loves reading, potions and magic. He is proud to be Muggle born and enjoys having the best of both worlds. His family mean everything to him and he would do anything for them. He can't wait to get his own home and job after Hogwarts. He has a small group of friends and he is fine with that.
