Re: [April 26] Practice Makes Perfect Partners-in-Crime (Grace/Chance/Fauna) Reply #15 on August 08, 2011, 03:56:05 AM Fauna choked out a laugh when Grace smirked and suggested she imagine everyone in their underwear. Her face flushed and she glanced at Chance when he piped up with exactly what she was thinking. Yeah, definitely not less of a distraction. Knowing her, she'd glance at the stands, and fly face first into one of the spectator towers!Especially considering who was in the stands.Fauna had to smile and nod when Grace brought up Ian and Eleanor, a couple she didn't know. Eleanor sounded familiar, but she was awful at remembering Quidditch players."Aw, but it's a good idea!" Fauna insisted with a playful grin, after Chance said not to encourage Grace. "It'll piss off Maeve. It'll piss off and distract Callum, and Kitty too, since she's her crony," she rolled her eyes."I mean, you know Slytherin is going to have something up their sleeves. Why can't Hufflepuff?" She was joking. Mostly. When Fauna and Grace got on the topic of hating on Maeve, it was difficult to stop, and she had a lot of anger to work out on the pitch! Who's life will we make miserable once we're away from here? We have to get our shots in while we have the chance,” Grace told them. “I don't know about you guys, but I really don't plan to purposely see Maeve Whitman again—ever--once I leave here.” Grace stuck her tongue out at Chance, who seemed determined to rain on their parade. “I've had my shot at Maeve, but Fauna is due her own. And this is certainly a way for her to do it.”Grace's words were full of vengence, surprising considering how caring she tended to be with the rest of her classmates. But her issues with Maeve were well documented. And Grace was more than happy to support anyone's attempt to topple the Slytherin Queen.Grace turned back to Chance. "Besides, if not that, then what do you suggest?" Chance was now actually trying desperately NOT to picture anyone present in their underwear. He needed a distraction now! Thanks Grace! And then the discussion went to...and seemed to lock on and only deepen upon tormenting Maeve. Not that the ice queen didn't deserve a little...or a lot of punishment, but...this wasn't going to end well at this rate."Aw c'mon now...are th' lot uv ya tryin' t'make ME th' responsible one in this episode?"Chance shook his head and gave both girls a playful poke to their sides."Behave yerselves...Ah know Maeve's a ruddy...well, insert insulting words 'ere...but yer both better'n 'at. Ya've both always stood up fer what's right an' 'elped those in need...stick t'that. If she's harasses'r 'urts somebody...put a stop to it, but don't prod th' snake...pretty please?" She too had no intention of ever seeing Maeve after graduation, and she couldn't help but daydream about what it would be like to show the Slytherin she couldn't always get her way and act superior. But it was just that - a daydream. Mostly!Of course, this left Chance the sensible one of the group, a role he took on with some reluctance! Fauna offered him an apologetic, guilty look when he reminded them that they didn't normally act like this and shouldn't sink to Maeve's level. Fauna made a face, "Okay, okay. But it's just... fun to talk about. I wouldn't actually smack a bludger at her, you know? I mean, I'll be lucky if I can hit the thing at all, in any direction."She gave them both a playful look, and leaned in to whisper in Grace's ear, but loud enough so Chance could hear them, "So Grace, we're going to have to plan this when he's not around--"Fauna drew away and burst out laughing."Alright, what's next on our agenda? End of year pranks?" Again, she was sort of joking, but thought they could use the change of subject! Grace regarded him with a cool expression, not fazed in the least when he scolded them for less than wholesome thoughts. Grace proceeded to inch closer to Fauna in time hear the Hufflepuff''s response. Grace snickered and after composing herself, she seriously said, "Fine. You can be the responsible one. Fauna and I will just....not include you in any of our further discussions on the matter....that way, you can have plausible deniability.....in the event that anyone can blame it on us." She paused and then emphatically announced, "Which they won't!"Luckily, Fauna's change of subject did the trick. As soon as the word "prank" left the girl's lips, Grace pounced on it. "Oooh, speaking of plausible deniability and placing blame...yes. And it's epic...." She beckoned both her friends closer and proceeded in hushed tones. "As long as we can get a lot of people to do it, that is. George and I were tossing around ideas for what we could do to leave Hogwarts with a bang....and somehow skinny dipping got mentioned. Like....all of us. The seventh years from Gryffindor along with those in Hufflepuff....and even the rule conscious Ravenclaws...." She rolled her eyes a bit as she said, "And I guess even those slimey Slytherins are invited too if they want to be adventurous."She paused and her eyes widened. "But the point is, the more of us that do it the better off we'll be. I mean...we'll all have more fun when we're not doing it alone....and...." A dramatic huff. "...if we were to get caught....Solidarity in numbers, yanno?" There were all sorts of things that buzzed about Chance's head that he would never do...or at least hoped he would refrain from doing. But imagining them happening...well, let's just say bad things happened to Devlin Matthews on a regular basis in Chance's head for a long time. Chance saw the pouty look Fauna was giving him at being reprimanded."Are y'actuallyy givin' me puppy face?"Meanwhile, Grace was shooting him a look of a different kind entirely. Sure...Chance had his angry moments, but they were almost always defensive aggressions. He'd managed to keep a cool head...almost always. But as Fauna remarked she'd likely be unable to even make contact with the bludger, Chance scoffed."Yer gonna be great. Y'know what? Ferget that. Yer already great. Whatcha do on th' field can only add another dimension o' greatness. Can't take any of th' others away, even at th' worst!"Chance was rather proud at his attempt at a heartwarming sentiment...but then the matter of pranks came up. Chance quirked his brow...and began wondering when he actually became...so prefect-esque! It wasn't as if he were snooty or holier than thou...simply...protective."George's involved in 'is?"Ryker lowered his voice with a mumble as he peered at Grace."No ruddy wonder nudity's involved..." Grace was full of surprises today! A slight smile tugged at her lips, thinking this was going to be something funny, or goofy, or...Not naked.Fauna's face flushed bright red and she gaped at the two Gryffindors, staring at Chance as if she expected him to have a similar shocked reaction. But nope! Instead he made jokes about George. Which Fauna would have found amusing at any other time, but she was simply focused on other concerns."Uh... what... wait?" She piped up meekly, mixing up the order of her words. "Are you... wait, are you serious? Skinny-dipping? Grace?" Her voice turned both disbelieving and pleading at the end."Because that means, you know..." she gestured, glancing around as if she thought they could be overheard. "We can't do something else? Or just... push the Slytherins in fully clothed? Or swim suits!" Fauna let out a nervous chuckle, both panicked and slightly intrigued by skinny-dipping as an end-of-year prank. Even Devlin hadn't seen her naked, so the thought of the entire seventh-year class catching a glimpse boggled her mind. And if a professor caught them! The horror! Skip to next post
