Nate carries himself with pride, speaks firmly (but with a chipper tone) and always wears a warm smile. Has scruffy eyebrows, a strong jawline, and has pout to his lower lips. 

Personality Description:

Nathan is insufferably and ambitiously optimistic, but it makes it easier for him to work hard at coming up with solutions or tackling difficult problems. This allows him to live his life to the fullest, regardless of what gets in his way, and he can end up being somewhat foolish, but also outspoken, courageous, and open to trying new things.

He’s loyal to his family but he also works at being a better person (wholehartedly rejecting pureblood prejudice) and supporting his friends, which puts himself at odds with his family values, a life of opulence, pureblood connections, and luxury. He tries to find balance in his social/family life but it can be trying for him at times.

History:

As the second son to Sylvia and William Whitman, Nathaniel felt less-inclined to fit into the perfectionist lifestyle that came with being a Whitman, so he took after his father (in terms of behavior) while thriving off his natural magical talent. It served him well during his years at Hogwarts, giving him the ability to exceed expectations in class while enjoying more leisurely activities and hobbies, like keeping Kurby Bagnold as a close friend and befriending (and eventually falling in love with) Myrni Levartian.

Leaving Hogwarts, he had broken up with Myrni, much to his family’s relief, but he still had feelings for her. He was sorely tempted to be with her again, but she eventually left to travel abroad, and Nathan had no doubt that his mother’s and brother’s pureblood prejudice had a hand in driving her away. However, distance only made his heart grow fonder for his Hogwarts Sweetheart, and he continued to write to her and visit when they managed to get together.

Eventually, conflict escalated and the Second Wizarding War came about at the end of Nathan’s auror training. He did not hesitate to join the fight against Voldemort and did so until the war came to an end. He continued to show such exemplary courage and determination as his years at the Auror Corps waned on, but his duties, admittedly, fell short during paperwork.

With a want to settle down in life, in 2005, Nathan began to make more frequent trips to the states to see Myrni, even though he was working diligently in the Auror office. He was a hard worker in his profession, even if he never sought after the responsibility of a higher position. Finally, Myrni and Nate became engaged and all seemed good and well for Nathan... until his family started to bud into his life again.

Through some series of family bigotry and class differences they are making his life miserable again by somehow driving Myrni away, believing there’s someone out there who’s ‘better’ for him, but Nathan, of course, won’t stand for it.

Describe your job duties and how you go about them: Nathan goes about his job diligently and efficiently, as long as paperwork isn’t involved. He doesn’t have a great habit of following Ministry bureaucracy and focuses more on getting his job done as humanely and ethically as possibly. He often gets irritated with laws and restrictions that treat everyone, except wixes, as less than human.
