Reggie still didn't totally believe how readily Fig was willing to put in hours at a real job. But he was likely going to get paid for his time, so really it shouldn't be all that impossible to comprehend. She could definitely use some extra spending money. There were some nice art supplies at a shop she frequented that she had her eye on for quite awhile now. Not to mention a slew of other items she wanted to purchase but found herself regularly hindered from doing so by her lack of funds. If only people still believed in bartering. What was so bad about that system anyway? It worked in the old days. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Figaro's sudden change in demeanor ripped her from her thoughts at that moment, confusion playing out across her face. "Wha-?" She turned to look in the direction he was shrinking away from, her eyes landing on the cloaked figure that had entered sometime recently. When Fig identified just who the mysterious figure was Reggie's mouth immediately fell open. She read the Prophet. She knew enough about this Tawse fellow. More than enough. Finally managing to shut her mouth again she whirled back around to face her companion, eyes serious.

"Just be cool ok? We don't need to attract any attention to ourselves. If he sees we recognize him things could get ugly in here." Oh dammit! This was supposed to be a run-of-the-mill outing type deal! They weren't supposed to be sitting just inches or so away from a dangerous wanted criminal! Good thing there were in a crowded public place. She had no doubt someone of authority could easily swoop in and handle the situation should it become violent. Ugh, her appetite was really starting to wane now...

"Right.  Be cool."  Figaro sat back into his seat stiffly, looking straight forward again at Reggie.  But his eyes kept darting over to where he could no longer see the Ministry's Most Wanted.

"Be cool..." he repeated.  Reggie was right - if they just left him alone, there'd probably not be any trouble at all.  Let the bloke have his dinner like a normal gent and maybe he and Reggie could make it to first base without being carted off to St. Mungo's.  But even in the stress he couldn't help but grin hesitantly. Best. Date. Ever.

He had his wand in his pocket, like any good wizard of sixteen.  But like any good wizard of sixteen, he was forbidden to use it unless in case of emergency.  Wait - this was an emergency, right.

"D'you think we should ... tell someone?" he began.  But their drinks arrived and he flinched so much that his spoon clattered to the floor.  The server set down Reggie's water, and Figaro's steaming coffee and brightly colored orange juice.

She asked for their order.  Something to start? What will you have? Miss? Sir? Soup or salad?  Figaro daringly ordered the calamari appetizer for them both, and then a Namazu filet over a blue potato mash with a lemon-white wine glaze.

The whole time acting as cool as possible.

Fig, bless his heart, was totally being the opposite of cool. Reggie had to give him points for trying, though. She watched as he kept throwing wary glances over at the wanted criminal, having to restrain herself from kicking his shin beneath the table. Good lord she hoped that Tawse fellow wouldn't notice the suspicious, nervous looks Fig was throwing him. A crazy person like him would likely curse the both of them if they so much as sneezed in his direction; regardless of who was present as witnesses. Hell, maybe he wouldn't even leave any witnesses.

"Tell someone?" She repeated, just as the waitress returned and set down their drinks. It was enough to startle Fig, whose spoon then clattered to the floor. Loudly. Ugh. She wanted to just cover her face and disappear right then and there. Closing her eyes, exhaling softly, then reopening them once she'd regained her composure she simply ordered the same main dish that he did. Once the waitress took their order and left she shook her head over at him

"I don't know... Who could we tell? Aurors maybe... but who knows how we'd be able to get ahold, of one. Unless you know a way?" She looked at him curiously, eyebrow raised. If anyone had random connections to authority figures, it'd be Fig.
