Forgive me for the scriptural intrusion, as I have no doubt that you are a busy man.  I am writing you upon behalf and on the recommendation of Auror Adon Eleor, who recently transferred to the United Kingdom's Auror Office and is currently serving duty as my partner.

Auror Eleor, as you may have received word, was recently injured during an exchange that came about due to our investigation into the Runespoor trade.  I am happy to report that he is indeed recovering, and should circumstances ever necessitate his reassignment to your command once more, I have no doubt that he will be in fully functioning form, save for a newly-developed dislike of his mother's favorite romance novels.

As a result of his injury, I have taken on the remaining burden of the investigation until such time as he is able to return to work.  Over the course of following up on the incident, I happened upon some information that may relate to the smuggling ring.   However, as I am certain that Adon has made you aware, some current circumstances within the workings of the British Ministry make it difficult to make discreet inquiries into the matter myself.

Auror Eleor suggested that despite your current responsibilities, you might be able to assist in successfully furthering these inquiries.  Upon his recommendation, I would like to propose a further collaboration beyond our current sharing of resources.  If you are willing, I will pass on the lead to you.  In return, we will handle any findings that you might return with extreme discretion in pursuit of eventual resolution to the investigation.

Thank you in advance for your assistance and your time.  And I apologize if you have to field any of Adon's complaints about the romance novels.  I assure you that they are not representative of good British literature in the slightest.

I appreciate hearing from you. I wondered if I would receive word--and am glad to hear that Adon is  recovering. I cannot, as you say, further these inquiries personally. What I can do is this: I can, according to the lead and its viability; direct it to a suitable Auror at headquarters or a field office. Depending, of course, upon the nature of our findings, we will share them with you. You must understand that, given the recent suspicions placed upon your Ministry, I may choose to be discreet to the extent of withholding.

I will be blunt: I trust Adon Eleor absolutely. And I do not know you. As I am certain you understand this, until such time as Auror Eleor has fully indeed recovered, we will correspond, but sensitive information must pass through him. I leave it to his discretion whether he will share. Our priority is to close the case--we have decided this necessitates cooperation and coordination. Adon will share the information with you if it is necessary. This satisfies me.

(I must also ask your opinion on this: due to Auror Eleor's new penchant for romantic novels, is he particularly vulnerable to sensitive information? I hear that some books have this effect in even grown men.)

My sincere and unequivocal atonements for inducing any overwrought presentiment due to the supererogative circumlocution.  I comprehensively appreciate the trepidation and consternation that accompanies ambiguity in the fate of a venerated confederate.  I should deprecate to incite comparable incertitude in the future.

I am interested in the Kanika family of Egypt, specifically any of their business dealings that took place in the United Kingdom in the early 1990s.  I am particularly curious in the names of any contacts that they may have had here.  The relevant documents are enclosed.

Unfortunately, Auror Eleor has appeared particularly vulnerable lately, but I fear that this is less a function of the romance novels and more due to the depths of the waters of his soul.  He has not been himself since a gossip magazine made some cutting observations about his mysterious foreigner's charm back in February.  I've included a copy of the article as well, so that you can see for yourself how hard he has worked to remain cool and aloof despite our corrupting British ways.  I have no doubt that his enigmatic dedication to preserving the depths of his soul will bring tears even to your own hardened eyes.

On a happier note, Auror Eleor is due to be released from the hospital tomorrow, so you may send any response directly to his care.  Please let me know if there is any other information that you require.

We have not looked into the Kanika family for some time, but the timeframe you outline coincides conveniently with one of our final investigations that I know very well. With Adon Eleor I have sent all the information regarding your country that we have encountered; it is not much. We will press for more; there is juice in the old grapes still.

I will need to know the name of your source and his knowledge or relation to the Kanika family. Information is only as reliable as its source. (Though unreliable sources can be even more useful.) The Kanika family was killed in 1992, save one daughter. You will know better than I the exact status of the Runespoor trade in England, but it seems to me that it was active there until at least 1994. If you feel confident in this link, I suggest you look at your customs and imports records spanning these two years to see if there are any changes that might indicate an associative upset with the Kanikas' end. I would like to know what you uncover.

I will shortly provide you with a list of known Egyptian expatriates in your country spanning back from this time. You will find that ancient Egyptian pureblood families are selective in their associations, and very well connected.
