Auror Zora Roh had a new partner. Not all Aurors were partnered all of the time, and Zora had been solo for a few years now. She preferred it that way, joining small teams when the situation called for it. But Raynor had apparently seen fit to shackle her to another Auror as punishment for her recent string of clobbering the weak and defenseless.
She rolled her eyes and put her feet up on her desk in her clutttered little cubicle. The Auror floor was bustling this morning, but she was just waiting for the inevitable. The lion-maned, daughter of Korean immigrants, and lesbian mother of one, Zora Roh was a package of brash decisions and effective justice. She nudged the file on her desk, to reveal the top page.
Trey Dixon it said. A fresh Auror, and not only that, the son of a well-respected, fallen comrade from back in the day.
"So there you are," she greeted as a face matching the photo walked up. She realized that she'd seen him around before many times, but this would be their first actual chat. She didn't stand up to greet him, and instead kept lounging in her chair. No rush to get on with things, not today.
"How is it all of you keep getting younger?"
