Wand: Her wand is made of Willow with a Unicorn Hair.  Its 12 inches long and it considered a bit on the bendy side.  It's properties are perfect for her healing work, and when Moira works it is truly an extension of her own arm.

Physical Description: Moira is about 5'6" with brown hair and eyes.  She's slender, but not athletic.  She moves with the grace of a dancer from a background in ballet.  However, when she gets lost in her thoughts she usually manages to trip whether there is an obstruction or not. 

Her voice is steady and musical and her accent is a bit light from her years in America.  She sings, but does not usually make that common knowledge.  Most will only ever hear her hum quietly to herself when she's working on charts.  She hears frequently from her patients that her voice is soothing and calming.

Moira is very aware that is physically attractive, but does not flaunt it or draw attention to it in any way.  She usually dresses in her work robes with her hair pulled back into a braid.  She is very comfortable with her appearance accept for a scar under her right ear which is almost always as hidden as possible by a few loose pieces of hair.  When someone notices it she usually finds a way to change the subject, uncomfortable with remembering the past (see history).

Personality Description: Moira is a healer and caretaker down to the very core of her being.  She is kind, and has one of the best bedside manners.  She is also quick with a bit of sarcasm when it is needed.  She can be slow to trust outside the professional world, but once trust is built she is extremely loyal.  She also prefers to be around those who are also kind, loyal, and honest.

Through her experience as a healer, Moira has learned to be calm yet instant with patients.  She is able to calm even the most upset and volatile patients by listening to them fully without judgment.  She has a natural ability to help them see things rationally.  However, outside of work when met with difficulties she'll often clam up.  At work she knows the patient is not really upset with her so she is able to be detached from her feelings.  Outside of work she is unable to find that same sense of confidence.

Moira has always cared very deeply about other people and wanted to help in anyway she could, which drew her to healing.  The more disgusting elements rarely bother her as she knows she is able to heal her patients and make them well again.    She's only considered changing professions once.  When she was still in training she spent a great deal of time working with a child with a mysterious illness no one could diagnosis.  The child had seemed to be on the mend, but passed away suddenly.  A mentor reminded her of all the others out there who would need her help and so she continued with her work.

When attracted to someone Moira will often find various excuses to spend time around them.  She blushes easily when receiving attention from someone she is interested in.  She is usually fiercely loyal to that person as well and will do anything for them.  There have also been times when she was unable to think rationally in regards to someone she was interested in, or see any potentially disastrous flaws.

Very little angers Moira, or cracks her calm façade.  At work she’s only ever been angered when abused women and children have been brought into her care.  Outside of work she is angered mostly by being lied to as she tried to always be honest with those around her.  She is also often frustrated when others boss her around for her “own good.”

She is the happiest when she’s able to see someone in her care leave the hospital healthy.  She truly loves her job, and would do nothing else.  She also loves to spend time with her family, especially her mother, who she considers her best friend.

History: Moira was born and raised in London by pure blood parents.  Her parents met at Hogwarts, her mother coming from an extremely poor family; her father's was extremely wealthy.  She's never met her grandparents on her father's side as they did not approve of the relationship.  Her parents were always accepting and tolerant of everyone, instilling the same qualities in her.

Her mother never seemed to let their wealth affect her.  They lived in a simple house, just big enough for their small family.  Her father seemed to make the transition easily, glad to leave behind the oppression of having to pretend in Pureblood society.  His family was from old money, and he rarely spoke of how they came into that money.  She always assumed their dealings were less then reputable.

She sometimes wondered about her ancestors on his side.  She was unsure if they had any ties to the Dark Lord, never wanting to push the subject too far.  She was able to do some research while at school and learned that her father was the first of his line to not be placed in Slytherin.  Instead he was part of Ravenclaw, as was her mother.  She always felt a great deal of pride to also be a member of their house.

In school Moira was extremely studious.  She loved to learn new spells and potions and preferred alone time in the library to socializing.  She received an E on her N.E.W.T. level exams in Potions, Herbology, Transfiguration, Charms, and Defense Against the Dark Arts.  She has always been a quick study and is constantly expanding her knowledge.

Moira was once quick to place her trust in everyone and she made many friends in Hogwarts.  But life has taught her to be more cautious.  She rarely talks about her time studying to be a healer, which she did in American at St. Dymphna's Hospital for the Weak, Weary and Wounded, only her childhood and current life.

While in America she met a Muggle while visiting Boston and fell in love with him.  She was completely devoted to him.  He, however, was manipulative, a trait she seemed blind to despite warnings.  She dated him for nearly a year before telling him she was a witch.  When he found out the truth he could not accept her.  He was brought up to be religious and believed her to be from Satan.  He exposed her to his community who ambushed her the next time she went to visit him.  She managed to escape, but in her flight she received the injury that gave her the scar under her right ear.

Since then she has trusted very few people, and has never told anyone exactly what happened that night.  When the posting at St. Mungo’s appeared three months later she knew she had to take it.  She was afraid to leave Salem’s Peak to venture into the Muggle world, and the last things she wanted was to constantly live in fear.

Moira is a Mediwitch (Healer) at St. Mungo's Hospital.  After Hogwarts she studied Salem's Peak, Mass in the United States at St. Dymphna's Hospital for the Weak, Weary and Wounded.  She transferred to St. Mungo's when a position was posted, saying only that she wished to be nearer to her family.  Moira has studied hard, excelling in potions especially.  She has undergone the proper training to deal with nearly any medical situation.

Moira made her way quickly down the street, knowing she would certainly be late for work.  Yet, there was no better way for her to arrive at St. Mungo's and have it go unnoticed by the Muggle population around her.  She walked as quickly as her feet would carry her, knowing if she moved any faster she'd certainly trip on London's less the level sidewalk.

Turning the corner, the street was empty and she noticed a man slumped against one of the walls of the surrounding building, appearing to be asleep.  A wand lay next to him, identifying him immediately as a member of the magical community.  Looking around, Moira slowed as she made her way towards him.

Kneeling, she started to reach out to him, but her hand shook slightly and she pulled it back. Taking a deep breath, she pushed aside the nerves the closeless and aloness had triggered.  Reaching out again, she gentle laid one hand on his shoulder.

"Sir," she called softly, "are you awake?  Can you hear me?"
