  • "I understand that this will help with the symptoms, for which I'm grateful. But does this 'cold' have the potential to get worse as time goes on? I've just never seen her experience something like this before. She seems so tired,"

"Honestly, yes," she admitted with relative and calm ease, "But 'di effects of this 'cold' can be negated to just sneezing an' being tired. I'll have to do some t'ings on my own, but she'll be okay, jus' keep me updated about her progress."

  • "And is there anything else I should know?"

Delilah's features softened as her eyebrows rose.

  • "I've become the one responsible for her, it seems. Except there's no field guide to handling teenagers. At least the ones who live with you,"

"And when your sisters," she added melodically, "As a mother, my children are my werst enemy, but I'm still their modder, at the end of the day. And yer both still sisters--," her eyes settled down the hall to where Aileen was, "she'll share when it matters. She'll probably need pushing, just stay on her."

Her eyes fell back onto Aileen, "I'm looking into some t'ings she talked about, she prob'bly didn't think 'dey were as important as others, But I'll give it t'you if it's meaningful." She turned her cheek up, waiting to see if Aileen had anything else to ask of her, and if she had anything else to answer with half-truths, until Abby herself got up the nerve to talk to her sister about what happened.

"And I expect th' same from you," She added with a nod towards the blonde witch.

Aileen listened to the Healer's advice, unsurprised to hear she had children, since she'd handled the sisters with a knowledgeable tone that likely couldn't be attributed solely to her profession. Her own mother was often too involved on matters that she should leave be and kept her distance when it came to the important things, evidenced by her complete lack of involvement in Abby's health right now.

"Oh, I will," she reassured Healer Foley when she suggested that Abby would need some encouragement to open up. Abby might think she was good at keeping secrets, but there were always little mannerisms and ticks that gave her away.

The vague mention that Abby had mentioned a few things that she probably didn't think of as important caused Aileen's eyebrows to rise, believing her when she said she'd let her know if it was meaningful, mostly because there was very little St. Mungo's could do at this stage other than fix the symptoms and test for the bug.

"I'll keep you updated," Aileen nodded in agreement. If Abby's illness was actually attached to an artifact, she'd likely have to solve it on her own, but at the very least the potions would buy her some time and help manage the magical outbursts.

Satisfied that this was all they could do at this point, she thanked her again, gave her a small smile, and let her get back to her work day.
