[Mar 5] Never Can Find What to Wear (Melanthe) on March 15, 2011, 05:50:32 PM looking for something that would withstand and repair scrapes when treating animals. Couldn't imagine how a bird's talons can wear on a girl's clothes, mostly ordering and arranging things. Brought a few men along with her just in case.Naila was out on an clothes errand with a fixed budget, at least those were the limits laid out by her ferociously frugal boss, Shela. But Naila's friend seemed to underestimate how utterly difficult it was to decide on an outfit, not to mention one for a showing--it was impossible. So, after spending the better half of her day flirting out a bit of her Veela charm at a table of gambling in the Signature, she coaxed the more luckier of the men away from the table and out shopping with her, and wit an extra pair of pockets towards her 'extra taste' the Italian witch took to Madame Malkin's shop like a playground. She spun with a purr, "How's this?" with a teasing smile and a curved pose she tipped her head up, eyes half-closed and eyebrows high, curious for a comment."Perfect.""Gorgeous."Naila's smile dropped open and pinched into harsh a pout, "Really?" an eyebrow lowered critically, "You two are absolutely awful at this 'picking' concept," she really didn't think there was anyone out there worse than her, and she continued in a more disappointed whine, "Ten robes so far," she flicked her well-manicured finger at a neat pile of long blue dresses, "and all you two can do is compliment the next dress I can squeeze into.""But they all look so good on you," one of the boys shrugged innocently. The witch sighed, maybe she had laid down her charm a bit thick, and now she was getting disinterested and a little frustrated, but she preferred to milk them for all their worth, since she managed to drag them along. She reached over and held up one of the discarded dresses, short, form-fitting, and hooded with bell sleeves, up against the one she was currently wearing, which was short-sleeved with a long slitted skirt, "But you must pick the best one," she twitched the dress she held and splayed her fingers on the one she wore, "Most mysterious, intimidating, and flattering--" she swelled her petite lips into an 'O' "go." Even though the island boasted of fashionable friends such as Liadan, Charlotte and Dolly, the dark witch did most of her shopping for her wardrobe in Wizarding Paris or Wizarding Rome.It was hard for her to suppress a sigh as she stepped inside Madam Malkin's. She was snobbishly spoiled with opulence and she had to remind herself that not every store she'd patronize would have it.Still, she was in need of a respectable outfit for her upcoming visit with her dear professor, Ignan Storm. He wasn't a client but she was treating it as if it were a professional get together and as such, she couldn't wear just anything to it. And she certainly couldn't wear the attire she often wore for her social engagements. She could not allow him to see her like that.As one of the sales attendants escorted her back to the changing areas with an armful of suitable outfits to try on, Melanthe paused when she saw a beautifully blonde witch preening in robes and inquiring of her company about their suitability. Melanthe listened to the rest of the exchange and smirked. The attendant caught her attention again, encouraging Melanthe to continue following her, but the dark witch waved her off. Instead, she stepped closer to the blonde, not yet realizing who she would be interacting with. She said simply, her tone quite dry with sarcasm, "Well, if you want mysterious, intimidating and flattering, then you should know not to ask any man for their opinion." There was a long pause. "Another woman would provide you with an honest opinion. And a woman who appreciates how other women look is even better." The women then took that as an invitation to speak again and Naila turned the dress to hang off her fingers and over her back. Her eyebrows narrowed mischievously and a smile peeled across her lips. She tapped a finger in the brunette's direction, "I'll have to take you up on that offer," she growled with a tinge of delight."They really can't see the magic a bit of tailoring can do," she conceded with a doleful tone, but her wry smile lingered as she took a step toward the other witch, turning her back to the men, "billywigs are really good for spoiling though," her voice creeped with a hint of innocence, but her satisfied gaze gave way to her manipulative hold toward the gentlemen in company."So shall we hide this audience until an honest exchange of criticism garners us new wardrobes" with her blue eyes still fixated on the other witch, she gestured toward the men with a slender hand and donned a charming hum, "They can muster up some cards and wait a little bit," Then she gave them a confident smile, knowing they were going to wait much longer. It wasn't that she didn't want them there, they were cute in their own right and current monetary value, but her interest of the witch gracing her presence exceeded that of the men she had wrangled."What have you come looking for...?" her voice trailed off as she studied the other witch's face, as if she could discern a name from it, and then eyed the handful of clothes being carried by the brunette's attendant, "those?" she narrowed her gaze at the clothes then back to the witch with some doubt.
