Ruby blushed at the off hand remark about her hair, and found herself patting it. She wore it up most often because it was easier than spending the time and effort to tame the sometimes boisterous natural curl. Without proper care her hair had a tendency to coarsen and she had never managed to learn Sophie's lightening fast curl taming method. She regularly thought abut chopping it all off - but both her parents liked the girls to keep their hair long. It was Ramona's one true vanity; that mop of luxurious curls on her head. Her other vanity was the brain housed under that hair, Ramona Flickwick was a smart women and she expected her children to be smart too... and they all were just in different and sometimes undefinable ways.

She felt a little bad complaining to Dion when his mother did really seem rather awful; or at least demanding, "I guess we all have family issues. I mean Sophie goes around with this persecution complex because she thinks 'unplanned' means 'unwanted' - which it does. She's such a Daddy's girl. And Emer just lives in her own little world, while John is... just an asshole basically". The run down of her siblings was simple - Ruby just wasn't very sure where she fit in outside of being a mini-mommy, "We do have fun though. I mean overall, how could we not with a rockstar for a dad," she snorted a little at the description because Duncan was so far removed from what was considered "typical" for that lifestyle. It was more weird to go out as a family and have people know who he was than to be just inconspicuous save for their size and the fact their mother looked like she did after having four children all in their teens now.

"Family is really important to Mum. I think it's a cultural thing? I don't know, Da's Irish too and came from like nine brothers. I'm surprised the didn't try to have a football team". It was a different set of problem all together - being hoisted out of your childhood home as soon as Hogwarts was done with you. She couldn't quite imagine that information, how it would be to not have a place to just call home. "I'll tell you what, slap on a black wig and pretend to be me and as long as you don't try to make out with my sister you can sleep in my room," she grinned at him, then blushed again as he toyed with her hair; "I've actually been secretly saving up for first and last months rent since last year. And Fauna has almost a guarenteed job at R.R. this summer if she wants it. So, you know. We kind of have a plan, once we get past um my mother".

"Hah. Don't think I'd fit in your jeans. I've got a smaller waist," Dion said, smirking. "Also the facial hair might cause some issues. As would not knowing whatever nonsense girls are supported to know about fashion."

He shrugged, "Thanks for the offer. We'll figure something out - mum expects us to have Ministry jobs right away, and..." Trailing off, he swallowed. "I might be able to get one, if I pull good grades. I don't know about Dax, though, job interviews aren't his, ah..his thing." His brother was more likely to end up demonstrating his physical strength than his ability to think.

"What about you? If you managed to move out, you got any places picked out? I haven't had much time to try and apartment hunt yet."
