The astronomy classroom has now been remodelled to be 'indoors' (see post for details) and have windows that look outwards into an animated  image of space, similar to the Great Hall's ceiling enchantment. At the center of the room is a large sphere that is being used as a projector; underneath is the old armillary sphere. Desks are arranged in a circle around this globe and two alcoves (southwest and northwest) have small fireplaces to heat the room, which are raised slightly above the floor with steps leading to them.
The original Astronomy classroom looked like this.

The blaze outside the windows was fun to look at, at least. And he had to admit that - even if via the pattern, he'd spend half this class wanting to cry - he was looking forward to this section. It would certainly be more interesting for the students than the last few weeks.  He hoped.

The classroom was set up as usual, and Kepler was sitting on his shoulders. Tapendra sat on the steps in front of his desk, flipping through a pile of notes. The sound of voices and the distant rumble of feet on the stairs brought him to his feet.

"Good evening!" he beamed, despite the not-exactly eager looks on their faces. "We'll be starting a new type of class today - since the weather's improving, you'll be spending half the class outside charting and half in here for lecture. Luckily for all of you, this means the lectures will be a bit shorter..."

Star charting- Callum hated it. It seemed like busy work to him. The only thing they ever did was lecture and star charting, never anything new or fun or exciting. Outside with a telescope putting dots on parchment and labeling it, and listening to the idiotic, muggle-loving professor drone on about stuff that had no real bearing on him or his magical skills. It was a dreadfully useless class, and as soon as he had passed his OWLs he was going to drop it. Thank Merlin that was going to be very soon. only a couple more months before summer break.

Hopefully the lecture would be over, he could chart his stupid stars, and go to bed. Why did he even bother to show up to Astronomy? It's not like if he missed classes it would really hurt him that much on his OWLs. Even if he failed that OWL it didn't matter if he was going to drop the class... Well, it would matter to his father. That was enough to keep Callum in attendance and attempting to make a good grade.

Fergie wasn't really a big fan of Astronomy, to be quite honest. Professor Trishna was nice, which was a plus when compared to some of the others (the Durmstrang League, for example). But the muggle stuff made his head ache, and he really just preferred to have his evenings free.

At least, apparently, the lecture portion would be shorter tonight. Fergie didn't mind lectures, usually, but Astronomy took place not too long before his usual bedtime. The longer the lecture lasted the more likely he was to zone out and start drifting off to sleep. Star charting would at least give him something to focus on and stay awake for, even if he was only interested in it due to how it related to Astrology and Divination. And while the weather was, as Professor Trishna had said, improving, it was still chilly enough out to keep one awake.

Settling into his usual seat, towards the back of the room, Fergie produced his note taking supplies and arranged them neatly on the desk in front of him, and gazed out the enchanted windows (those were at least always interesting) while he waited for the lecture to begin.
