It was a typical sight to see... Beatrix Dark and her cousin, Razzy Chancelier, lazing around in the grass during lunch. Beatrix ate away at her little lunch that she had packed away in her bag. The petite girl was chewing aimlessly at her bacon sandwich, laying her head down on her cousin's stomach and feeling her head lightly bob up and down from him breathing. Razzy hardly ever ate during their little picnics, only stealing a few bites from her grapes or potato salad every so often. They sometimes spoke vaguely about the day, the weather, their classes, etc. But usually just laid in silence, watching the clouded sky.

"It's Friday the thirteenth," Razzy spoke up, his blank expression unchanging as always. Beatrix nodded, subtly, hardly catching his reference before it processed through her head. She didn't really believe in superstitions, and she wouldn't have noticed the date if Razzy hadn't pointed it out. The girl made a rather coy smile before turning her head to the side, tracing out her cousin's pointed chin.

"Razzberry... You don't have friggatriskaidekaphobia, do you?" her voice mocking the boy. It was odd, how large he was compared to Beatrix... He was five days younger than Beatrix, which had always struck her as odd. The Chancelier family was know for their tall, leggy genes, but Razzy was ridiculous. She secretly hoped he would shrink one day, just so he wouldn't have that one foot advantage over her. Even still, Beatrix knew how to kick Razzy's butt any day if she needed to. He was rather slow when it came to wandwork, and that was Beatrix's greatest strength. Despite people believing Beatrix to be dimwitted, she was a Ravenclaw after all. She lacked prudence to a certain extent, but academically she could blow everyone's minds. Either with her brilliance or with her wand.

Razzy let out a sigh, displeased with Beatrix's teasing, "What?" he mumbled. She was always going on about weird topics that Razzy hardly understood. Razzy had what Beatrix was lacking: looks and common sense. This thought always made him grin sheepishly. The twins were rather pretty... But they'd be prettier if they didn't ruin their hair and paint dark makeup on their faces. However, when he glanced down at Beatrix, her soft face didn't seem as ugly as usual. Razzy pulled one of his hands out from under his head and took a handful of Bea's pink hair in his fingers, almost as if he was studying it. Razzy liked it better when it was blonde. He just liked blonde in general.

"It's the fear of Friday the thirteenth," Beatrix told him, her brow furrowing from his touch. She took another bite of her sandwich and turned her gaze back to the sky. Razzy continued to play with her hair. He always had a weird thing about people's manes... A part of him wanted to be a hair stylist, but he decided to keep his styling abilities a secret.

"You're a moron," he muttered, a hardly audible laugh escaping his lips.

"Sure I am," she hummed, lightly, giggling lightly along with him. Razzy was always calling her names. She was simply used to it now. The taunting simply went right over her head. It was never really serious, anyhow. Razzy loved his cousins, despite how much he loathed them before their fifth year in school. As he grew closer to the Dark siblings, he realized they weren't as bad as his mother had told him.

They fell quiet once more. Beatrix finished her sandwich, crumbling the napkin into a small ball and tucking it away in the paper bag she had placed in her backpack that once contained her lunch. She pulled Razzy's hand out of her hair. It thumped down against the boy's side, having no intent on moving back to the bottom of his neck. She finally turned her body to the side, taking his large hand in hers. Beatrix closed her eyes, planning to dose off until lunch was over. She was too calm and content to make idle conversation anymore.

The Hufflepuff glanced down at his cousin again, her grinning face snuggled into his sweater vest. Beatrix was always rather huggy and affectionate. And Razzy was always happy to accept affection. Perhaps that was why he didn't mind her as much anymore... The girl knew just the right ways to keep his craziness at bay. He tilted his head, taking note of how her bangs swept down just enough to cover her eyebrows, and how she never seemed to be bothered by them. She had very light features, and today she had been wearing very light makeup. For once, Razzy could consider her pretty. In a very platonic way... Right?

"Beatrix?" he spoke softly, watching the girl's eyes flutter open, icy and blue, "Do you think I'm slutty?"

This erupted a large amount of laughter in the girl. She sat up, trying to control herself, but ultimately failed. She knew plenty of Razzy's shenanigans with bunches of faceless students. In fact, she couldn't find a chance to escape Bella's rantings about how Razzy had groped her date to the dance, Peyton. But the term "slutty" never trickled in her thoughts. Beatrix was able to tell that Razzy had a constant need for touching and feeling and kissing. He was a peculiar boy.

"I'm not joking..." yet he couldn't help but laugh along with her... Her laugh was contagious, "I feel like all I do is think about kissing and sex... I was just thinking about kissing you and that's disgusting. No offense, but you're my cousin."

"Yeah?" Beatrix smirked, turning back towards her cousin, who had now sat up along with her. She sat with he legs crossed, his legs curved up rather loosely towards his chest. Razzy draped his arms over his knees, glaring a faux glare. "You're also a pureblood, you know," she pointed out. Purebloods were used to inbreeding. However, "But I understand... You're like a brother to me, Razzberry... A very odd, ogreish brother," she smiled her bubbly smile and bit her bottom lip.

"I'm not ogreish..." Razzy mumbled, rolling his eyes, "But you still haven't answered my question," his face softened into his usual curious expression. Razzy was rather against normal pureblood habits. While he was fine with being distantly related to someone he has snogged, someone as close as Beatrix was just awful. The news about Razzy being like a brother to Beatrix definitely made him lighten up. Razzy enjoyed being that close to the twins. Being apart of a family. Eveline was the only real family he had before the Darks grew fond of him.

Beatrix raised her thin eyebrows at him, disappearing under her pink fringe, "What's this about, anyways? You were never bothered by your own provocativeness before."

He bit his lip and considered what he should say. Razzy's disturbance was due to the feisty Slytherin boy, Erin Harper. He didn't know about Bea's background with the boy, and yet he didn't want to admit he had a strange feeling for him. It was odd, that feeling. Sometimes it made him happy... Other times, just downright sick. "I don't know... I feel like I've grown rather connected with someone lately, you know?" the Frenchman shrugged carelessly, "It's like I suddenly feel dirty... For being myself." The girl nodded understandingly. Though, Razzy wasn't sure if she truly understood what he meant.

"You and that Pennyapple boy... How does he make you feel, Bea?" Razzy questioned. The two were virtually inseparable. It was rather nauseating at times for Razzy, since he didn't understand why Vincent would want to tie himself down when he had those looks. If Razzy was Vincent, he would be seducing all the promiscuous Slytherin chicks he could. But the two had lured each other in, almost mutually it seemed, and were just happy to be near one another. It was annoying. Razzy was almost envious. Yet, he felt almost as if he had that same link with Erin. Almost.

Beatrix took a moment to think before saying, "There is no words for it, I guess. Besides... 'Right'. It feels 'right'." Razzy's gaze immediately locked with Bea's. The word had a slippery feel to it... But it seemed to fit both situations rather effectively. Razzy felt the same way around Erin, he supposed. He only wished he could be as poetic as Beatrix at times, the intelligent little chihuahua. The girl contemplated on speaking again before letting her lips part, almost reluctant, "I went through the same thing, you know... I snogged someone I shouldn't have... But then I realized I didn't really like them. I only really liked Vinnie..."

So she did understand.

This came as a shock to Razzy. He never pictured the pink haired girl to be loose with her lips and tongue. He, of course, had no clue it had been none other than his Erin who had helped Beatrix realize her feelings for Vincent. And if he had found out, he wouldn't have cared. Erin was an attractive boy, he probably spent a lot of time with the ladies. Both Razzy and Erin had a hard time being tied down. Yet, the thought was growing more welcoming and homely the more he thought of the Harper boy. Razzy was changing from his usually loose ways. He couldn't tell if this was a good or a bad thing.

His face remained blank, yet Beatrix still smiled as if she heard his every thought. "I don't know what you're feeling, Razzberry... And I have no clue who has forced you to feel this way... But I'm fairly sure all normal human beings go through the same exact thing," she told him. Her legs then curved to the side and she rested her head on one of his knees. Razzy softly scoffed and pulled his hands from his legs, placing them carelessly behind his back in order to lean backwards.

"You know I'm not normal," he responded, an uncharacteristic scowl forming on his face. A rather touchy subject for a rather emotionless boy.

"Yes you are, Razzy. You are to me, at least," Beatrix gave him a rather warming grin before closing her eyes like before. He stared at her, rather dumbstruck. She always knew the right things to say without even trying. Beatrix was possibly the only person who could get him to shut up. She was the friendliness he needed. The kindhearted girl that kept him at level. Beatrix was like a younger Eveline, with added intelligence, but with largely depleted beauty. Suddenly, he missed Eveline. She was basically his best friend, and yet they hardly ever spoke anymore. He wanted to speak to Eveline suddenly. Wanted to get their friendship back in order.

For now, he had a silent, soft-breathing Beatrix draped across his legs. He grinned a sincere grin... The kind that he only cracks subconsciously and not by force.

"How about we skip next class and go walking in the forest?" he asked her. Beatrix and Razzy were always getting themselves sucked into mindless adventures. Perhaps today they would run into a bit of trouble and he would have to whisk Beatrix up over his shoulder and save her... As he generally did.

"But I like Charms..." she told him, "It's a really interesting class,"

"You're a nerd,"

"I love you, too," they fell silent once more before Beatrix added, "I'm a prefect,"

Razzy didn't respond at first, but simply continued to grin at the small girl. She was bizarre, but so was Razzy...

"I don't love you," he told her, a faint hint of sarcasm tracing his tone,

"You're an awful liar," she told him, mocking that same sarcasm.

The boy laid back again and Beatrix adjusted herself back to his stomach. She pulled her bag close to her chest and went back to attempting to nap. They were positioned just how they were before, as if nothing ever changed. Yet he continued to grin, continued to feel comforted by her words. He took her hand in his once more and stared up into the clouds. He could see a crack of blue in the cold, hateful gray. If only he could openly express love like Beatrix... But he could honestly say that was one thing Beatrix had him beat in.

The girl smiled to herself again, still hearing his every unspoken word. Beatrix couldn't help but smile when she was around people she cared about. She never really thought she would like being around Razzy. Chanceliers were snooty people. But she still smiled, as if his thoughts were complimenting her and she knew it... "You just want to skip Charms because we have a test today."
