Lexus was antsy and restless. She always felt that way the day of a full moon. Normally she had other things to distract her, running through the country side finding a cave or dense forest to hide in, or more recently finishing up the last bit of paperwork on a case but since losing her job with Jonas, Lexus had nothing to do but pace her flat waiting for the transformation. She had taken her wolfsbane already and felt her anxiety rise as the sun outside began to set. After discovering that Jonas - and subsequently the Ministry - had been keeping tabs on Dazmond, Lexus had decided to get her wolfsbane elsewhere. She adored Dazmond but she didn't want to get her friend into any more trouble nor did she need the Ministry knocking on her door about illegal potion buying. So instead she had gotten in contact with Alastar. While it was a shame he was no longer in her bed most nights she was happy to have a secondary source of her monthly dose.
She paced through her kitchen for the hundreth time feeling hot and stuffy. She hadn't bothered cooking anything. This close to the full moon she didn't really have an appetite for anything cooked anyways and had devored most of a raw steak that afternoon. She opened her fridge with no real desire to take anything out before crossing back into her living room. She moved to the large windows on the far wall and opened them letting the cold night air flow through her flat.
She scowled realizing the mistake almost instantly. With the windows opened she leaned out to feel the cold air across her skin. The clouds shifted and pale blue light shone down on her pale skin. Lexus felt her stomach lurch as she body reacted. She scowled and snarled as pain raked through her body. Four years still wasn't enough time to get her used to the excruciating pain her body went through every month. She doubled over as her spine rippled, her vertebrae expading throwing her to her knees. Her hands curled and contracted, the four long digits elongating, her thumbs pulling in to create paws. With a sicking hollow pop her knees snapped backwards one at a time, her feet mirroring the change her hands had gone through to create paws.
A gut wrenching scream echoed through her flat as her jaw dislocated and pushed itself forward, the cartiledge on her nose expanding with the length of her jaw pulling her face down in a gnarled snout. Her spine continued to ripple and expand until she no longer resembled any humanoid shape. The simple pair of pajamas she had been wearing torn from the shift of her body was quickly replaced by a pelt of silver and grey.
Lexus's golden eyes snapped open, she looked around her flat, the colours muted and dulled. She narrowed her eyes towards the harsh light coming out of the kitchen and longed to be in the dark. She looked up to the stairs leading to her bedroom, to her safe room. When she first took over the flat she had converted the small walk in closet in her bedroom into a safe room for her monthly transformations. She longed to be there now curled up in the padded bed she had acquired to accomodate her wolf form. The change was always so painful and exhausting and with the wolfsbane allowing her to keep her human mind all she ever wanted to do was rest.
Tonight however felt different while still in mass amounts of pain she didn't feel tired. She felt hungry and still felt restless. She urged her wolven body to climb the stairs, to rest in the safety of her closet but her muscles refused to respond. They rippled and became taught. Her paws padded at the carpetted floor feeling the texture. With a flash of fear she felt her body leap towards the window. She had not wanted to do that, all she wanted to do was sleep in her nice little doggie bed but her body had plans of it's own.
With fear gripping her heart Lexus' wolf form leapt out the window and onto the fire escape. In four large bounds she was on the cobbled street of Neal in the middle of muggle London, a werewolf in the middle of a normal muggle street. She threw her head back and howled, her paws stretching and her muscles flexing ready to run. As her mind screamed for her to stop, to return home to rest and be safe she took off at full speed startling passerbys that were too ignorant to register what they were seeing. Her stomach grumbled as she craved fresh meat, magical meat.
It wasn't long before Lexus in all her Lycan glory was padding down Diagon Alley howling, snarling and poised for the attack.
