If you have written other characters here, list them all: Altair Gairden.

    Full Character Name:
    Brennan Edward Girard

    Character Birthday & Age:
    June 4, 1991 & 16 years old

    City & Country of Birth:
    London, England, UK

    Pureblood, Halfblood or Muggleborn:
    Pureblood

    House & Year:
    Gryffindor & 7th

    Wand:
The wood is of hawthorn with a phoenix feather core. He uses it a lot of defensive charms, and he has a very set mind when his wand is in practice. The wood is rigid and the surface is smooth, easy to access in a duel. In length, the wand is nine and a quarter inches.

    Physical Description:
In appearance, Brennan isn't the tallest of boys, though he isn't the shortest. He stands around 5' 9" and is very proud of his height. He has medium brown hair with a hint of blonde and auburn occasionally, and his eyes are mostly hazel. In build, he is a muscular boy, working on his tone and body to keep himself healthy and fit, and always a quick hand for a duel. When not in uniform, he tends to wear tight shirts or comfortable clothing, including sweatpants and athletic shorts.

    Personality Description:
It's never fun to start with the bad, but Brennan needs to be built up. So to start, he is rather hot-headed and temperamental. His fuse is short and he'll tend to talk himself up and threaten those who oppose him. He has a small vendetta against the Slytherins, even though that war was fought before he came to Hogwarts. So if a Slytherin, or even any one else, challenge him, he'll have a go at it with full force.

As well as being hot-headed, he is overly confident and arrogant. Sometimes he brags about his dueling abilities and how he is a quick hand. As well as those few traits, he likes to show off his quidditch skills, being a short and athletic person, because he tends to know the game well. It can probably get on people's nerves, but he doesn't care, and that is probably one of his better qualities.

He doesn't care what people think about him. Through thick and thin, he's endured multiple harassments from different people, and that is why he doesn't care any more. He just lets it run off his shoulders, and he'll point a wand and cast a silencing spell. As well as not caring, he flirts a lot, too. He is kind of ambiguous with who he flirts with, be in male or female.

He is still searching for himself in a relationship scenario, and doesn't know what he wants, so he keeps his options open.

    History:
On a hot summer day in June, the fourth to be exact, in 1991, Rachel Eaton and Simon Girard welcomed their son, Brennan Edward Girard, into the world. Rachel, who previously worked in the Ministry, took time off to take care of her newborn son, while Simon, a French wizard, brought in the salary by working in Gringott's under goblin supervision. However, his parents were never married and never got married. It was a live-in situation, both his acting parents, but not acting spouses.

As he grew up, Simon taught Brennan how to speak French starting at a young age. However, every time Brennan would get anything wrong, Simon would shoot a spell near Brennan, scaring him to get the answers right. As he grew up and got something wrong, Simon would inch his wand closer. Eventually, Brennan got scared for his life. At the age of seven, he ran off from home because Simon started threatening him, and his mother didn't do anything about it.

He found refuge in his maternal grandparent's home for a few months before Rachel decided to leave Simon and get a job. He moved back in with his mother, and never saw Simon again. However, he never called Simon his father and to this day still refuses to call Rachel his mother or mom. Instead he uses her real name, and treats her as a sister rather than a mother.

At the age of eleven, he was selected to attend Hogwarts. It was there he was sorted into Gryffindor, probably because he braved the odds against an abusive father. Even though his father scared it into him, Brennan can speak fluent French, and generally when he is angry, starts spouting off in French.

His first year at Hogwarts was interesting, as he made friends and enemies. He took an initial dislike to the Slytherins, and still does dislike most Slytherin students. In classes, he isn't the most studious or brightest, but he can conjure a pretty wicked defensive curse or charm. Other than Defense Against the Dark Arts, though, he only ever like Divination. It was an odd class to like, but he found refuge in his soul and mind, and liked the way the class was taught.

By his third year, he was picked to be on the quidditch team, a goal he found to be most impressive. The captain chose him as the seeker, because he was muscular, and he was short and swift, and could move quickly on a broom. He continues in quidditch now towards the end of his sixth year, still in the position of seeker. Other than quidditch and DADA, (and Divination), Hogwarts hasn't offered much to him, except his favorite wizarding event - dueling.

When it comes to dueling, Bren started at a young age, often repeating spells he heard Simon use to punish Rachel, the same he would scare Brennan, when she was 'out-of-line'. He used them on Simon once or twice, stealing Rachel's wand from her room andscaring Simon back, only to have it backfire on him when Simon caught him. But he started young, and is now a prodigy of dueling.

He is currently finishing up his sixth year at Hogwarts, ready to go into his seventh year and graduate to become something with character, whether that be auror, quidditch player, or master dueler. He lives with his mother, Rachel, and his maternal grandparents, Maggie and Edward, when he isn't at Hogwarts.

How Do You Fit Into Your House?:
Brennan is a very courageous, young lad. He loves to put myself out there and challenge those who think he can't do anything he sets his mind or body to. When it comes to those who can't fend for themselves, he'll stand up for them, fight for their right to get their voice heard. In ways that may stereotypical of a Gryffindor, he tends to get hot-headed and arrogant. And can, well, kind of be a show-off.

    Writing Sample:
Show your character in a scene that illustrates the best and worst aspects of their personality. Include action, dialog and thought.

It was a hot day. A very hot day. But leave it to a Slytherin to make it that much hotter. And not hotter in the provocative sense, no. When a Slytherin crossed paths with Brennan, it was Brennan who got hot... in the head. Brennan was just minding his business, sitting outside to let the sun, actually studying for his upcoming Care of Magical Creatures, when a rather large, obnoxious Slytherin boy and his girlfriend started saying rather rude things.

"Oh, look at the study boy. Hah hah hah. How sweet? Actually going to pass this one, BEG?" His initials spelled the word "beg," which to his displeasure, allowed many losers to make fun of him. Brennan closed his book and looked up at the large boy, obviously the same year as himself. "Vous les porcs..." Having the ability to speak French fluently had it's advantages. "What did you say to me, you arse?!" Or it could have it's disadvantages.

Brennan rose from his seated position, and stared the boy in the face. It was silent for a few seconds. A lot was going through his mind, and many involved the Slytherin boy laying on the ground, dazed and confused, or well, more confused than they normally were. Finally, Brennan decided to let it pass. For the first time, he was going to take the upper-hand and walk away. His class was about to start in five minutes anyway.

Slowly, he reached down to grab his bag and book, but apparently the Slytherin thought he was reaching for something else. "Stand aside, Kelsey." The boy told his girlfriend to move over, and Brennan knew what he was going to try and start. But sadly, porkers hands were a bit too slow for Brennan's muscular fingers. Bren quickly pulled his wand from his back pocket, slung his arm around, and shouted, "Stupify!" The round Slytherin stumbled backwards, his girlfriend gasping, and fell on to the grass.

"Don't mess with the French. There's a reason we don't take sides in a war." He gave an evil wink before heading off to his CoMC class.

Sum up your character in one paragraph:
Hmm, how to sum up Brennan? Though he came from an abusive childhood, he overcame his adversities. Though, as he came out as the better person, he did tend to get some over-confident attitudes. But still, Brennan is a sweet guy when he wants to be, and likes to be social and happy most of the time. Just don't say the wrong thing, or you may have a wand at your nose... or lack of nose.

    Brennan Girard [Metamorphmagus]

    Bren's BIOgraphy

    Age:
    16 (17 in June)

    Special Ability:
    Metamorphmagus

When did your character master this ability?  How long have they had it?:
Well, most metamorphmagus are born with it, so naturally, Brennan was born with this ability. He never understood it growing up, but things just started happening, and eventually he figured it out through text books.

How did they learn or hone this ability?:
When he first started 'using' the ability, he was around four or five. His hair started turning all sorts of crazy colors, due to emotional influences upon him. If Simon, his father, treated him carelessly or harmfully, his hair would turn a blazing red. If he was shown affection, his hair would morph to that of green or light blue. He didn't know why it was happening, and Simon and Rachel were more confused than he was.

Sometime around age seven to nine, more developments started occurring, like animal metamorphose. A pig snout when he got overly-full on food, or a the nose and mouth of a lion when he got angry with Simon or Rachel. Other times, he'd just close his eyes and day-dream, and weird ears or feet or hands would transform from his own.

He didn't really understand what it was until he read about it Hogwarts. Mostly, because neither his mother nor his father knew what it was either, because they'd never seen it. He inheritted it through his father, Simon, from one of the grandparents. Bren officially started using it properly when he was at Hogwarts and learned what a metamorphmagus was.

Describe how the Special Ability influences their life.  What do they use it for?:
Brennan uses it mostly for fun, but it does come in handy when he wants to play dirty pranks on Slytherins, by forming himself into a Slytherin and imitating friends of fellow snakes. He plays around with a lot, mostly just to make his friends laugh, but it comes in handy definitely when he needs it.

He just likes to have fun with it, now that he understands it fully. Maybe he'll use it after school for career purposes, because he was thinking of working in the field of an auror. But if that doesn't work, he could always use it for the Ministry in other varieties.

Write a description of what happens when your character is exhibiting this Special Ability:
Usually, when Brennan uses his ability, he mostly exhibits animal parts on his face, such as a dog nose and mouth or a bird's beak. He's even gone as far as cat ears and a lion's mane, showing his Gryffidnor spirit. Other times, he's transformed himself completely into another person, mainly those of Slytherins to play somewhat malicious pranks on fellow Slytherins. Occasionally, when he doesn't notice, he hair will change colors, but nothing drastic. He tends to keep his hair in natural order. But sometimes, he does like to experiment, and when he gets overly emotional, depending on the emotion, his hair turns drastic colors.

    Younger Photographs

Brennan is a fighter. At around age four, Rachel
secretly enrolled Brennan in a muggle karate class.
It was first experience in how to fight.

Even though he didn't consider Rachel a true motherly
figure, he was more a mamma's boy than a dad's dude.
And he was always so cute, too.

Sometimes, Rachel made Brennan attend social
gatherings with the neighbor's children. It taught him
his social skills, and made him a very social being.

    Current Photographs

Even now, Brennan is still a fighter.
Though he prefers a wand to his
fists or feet, but he can still pull
    off that karate stance.

Still in his social atmosphere, Brennan jokes
around a lot with friends. He tends to be
the goof in the group, but he doesn't care.

Never one to try new things, he likes
    experimenting with his appearance.
As the results aren't usually popular
among his friends, he never keeps
the new colors for longer than a few
    days.

Always the seeker, Brennan loves his
quidditch. He wears the goggles proud
and tends to play the bad arse type
    when on a broom.

Even if he is the typical male, Brennan
still knows how to dress like a model.
His grandparents allow him a few
nice outfits from top brands every
    year.

And as always, he sticks true to his
    Gryffindor mascot. He's been told
he acts like a lion: protective, strong,
and ready to bring down his foes.
