O Morain Estate and Farms Photo Gallery on January 13, 2011, 12:08:14 PM Ó Móráin EstateThe Ó Móráin family has been living in an estate in Ireland as far back as most family history can be traced. It is a spacious house with expansive lands and gardens, including a lake and a cemetery. Outside of the main home are huge tracts of land that house varying magical creatures. The lake is also used to cultivate water dwelling animals. The animals have a high standard of living so that only the best potions ingredients can be produced from their parts. After animals die or are harvested, they are dissembled in two large buildings at the very edge of the property so as to not to be offensive to those living in the estate. They are shipped out directly from the home to various business which need the animal ingredients for potions brewing or other things. (Such as wand making.)The lands are protected by magical fields. For generations these protections have a darker nature, not simple cloaking like that of Hogwarts. In 1997 when Cáel Ó Móráin was arrested by the Ministry it was discovered the wards around the lands would immediately kill anyone of non-magical blood. In the last ten years all magical wards have been redone to cloak and to ward off intruders. The only way to get in is if you know where you are going and if you are of magical descent.Front view of the home. The house is closed in by a wall that is overgrown with ivy. There are mostly muted shades of green, gold, and brown. All wooden accents and furniture in the house are a very rich, dark mahogany. There are many priceless antiques decorating the various hallways and rooms of the home. All rooms which are rarely used have their doors shut. The main entry way is possibly the most lavish (apart from the ballroom) as it is the part that most people see. The sitting room where guests are received is equally luxurious and done in impeccable tastes. At the door all guests will always be greeted by one of the two house elves that belong to the estate. Libby and Felda are the two house elves, with perfect manners. (They are not loud and obnoxious like one thinks of when they imagine Winky or Dobby.) Guests are then shown to the sitting room to await the master or mistress of the household, assuming he/she is home. (At the time Liadán is mistress of the house. She resides in the home alone as her parents have both passed on.) Skip to next post
