[Feb 29] Who is more hot-headed the offenders or the prefects [Dion] on January 12, 2011, 01:46:48 AM Looking down at her nails she inspected them slowly. Yes, this colour was going to go into the catalogue, which much to her surprise was quickly growing. The charmed mood changing nail polish still needing to be tested and probably tinkered with again, even after her previous testing she still wasn’t so sure it was going to work properly. Arielle was quite lost in her thoughts of her nail polish developments that she not noticed the beginning of a spat between some fourth year boys.It was not until she heard raised voices that she looked up to see what was going off. There it was a fellow Gryffindor she was sure of it, and was that a Slytherin? Arielle couldn’t be sure beyond the Gryffindor who was it involved, she didn’t pay much mind to the fourth years normally outside of her house. “Excuse me settle down she called.” Her comment was quickly returned with a pissed off reply of sod off from the Slytherin boy. Yes definitely Slytherin she was sure she had seen his face at the table at meal times. With a heavy sigh she got to her feet from her spot on the windowsill and started towards him. The sounds of her heels on the floor were drowned by the continued argument between these two hot-headed fourth years. “Let’s be more civilized,” she said in a more commanding tone. They didn’t really look at her as they started pushing and shoving. If Arielle was not a prefect she might have laughed at how they resorted to pushing and shoving over their wands. It was short lived as one of the boys stumbled back and pulled his wand out pointing it at the other boy. “Merlin, calm down. No magic in the halls.” She sternly spoke as she arrived near them, her fingers gently touching her wand hidden in her robes. She was ready to grab if needed, she only hoped it didn’t get that far. If that was a good thing or not was something that depended on who you asked, of course. But he felt much more in control of himself. How that had come about wasn't good lesson, though; all it showed was that if his emotions went haywire he had to hex the snort out of someone - at least Storm had allowed them to do that over those silly barrels. Oh well. As an Auror he'd have the chance to do that a lot, right? The sound of arguing voices drew his attention as he headed down the hall, book bag slung over his shoulder. A small crowd was milling around the scene when he arrived, and his normally somewhat stern expression turned to a full on frown. Weaving his way through the crowd, he came to Arielle and the two boys - both of whom seemed to be ignoring the Gryffindor Prefect. "Do you need any assistance, Miss Snark?" he asked, adjusting his book bag in such a way that his wand was almost at his fingertips. She was a prefect and she should be able to have some control on the younger years, shouldn’t she? Granted two hot-headed boys probably wouldn’t pay much mind to a girl. She felt heart starting to race nervously that these boys could actually harm themselves, and she was struggling to stop them. What good was she as a prefect then? Arielle felt a sense of relief as she heard a voice and turned to see an older prefect and male. It seemed in this situation male was going to be an important factor.“Please,” she said looking at Dion. “These two don’t seem to be paying me any attention.” She said more firmly as she looked back at the two boys who were still arguing. It did seem they were to tentative to start sending hexes in any direction for the moment, it was mainly just verbal arguing. “The last thing I want to see right now are spells and hexes flying.”Perhaps she should have kept her mouth shut as she witness a poorly used jelly leg hex used. Pulling her wand out purely to use if she needed to disarm she looked at the two boys. “What did I say, stop it.” She looked over at Dion hoping he would jump in. It felt like her feminine voice was falling of deaf ears. "I see," Dion said, patted her on the shoulder, and eyed the two arguing fourth years again. When the hexes started he pulled his wand out with a derisive sigh."Expelliarmus!" he snapped, and in the momentary silence as the two boy's wands clattered to the hall floor a few feet away, he spoke in his usual icy 'dealing with mis behaviors' voice. "No magic in the halls," he told them sternly and with no hint of irony, sparing a disapproving look to the Jelly-Jinx'd of the pair. "Push off before you wind up in front of your respective Heads of House, understood? Unjellify!" Mainly it hurt her pride that Dion had to come and save the day, and that she could not handle the situation on her own. It was easy to see that Arielle had lost control, strike that, she had never been in control. She had to admit to herself that there were some things she was not capable of doing and this was one of them. She was not capable of handling these two stupid boys. “Thanks,” she mumbled watching as Dion saved the day.“A Gryffindor,” she paused, “that is ten points.” Arielle was not going to let this go without some sort of repercussion. As for the Slytherin no doubt she would have to speak with the head of house. At this moment there was little she could do about it, and it was bet she bite her tongue as she had some nasty words to say.She turned away, “That is bollocks,” she grumbled why did she need a boy to come and save her. She was a Snark, she should have had more control than that, look at her aunt. Arielle was disappointed in herself and now she was in a foul mood. “I can’t believe them” she said in the direction of Dion whether he chose to reply was up to him. Skip to next post Re: [Feb 29] Who is more hot-headed the offenders or the prefects [Dion] Reply #5 on January 13, 2011, 01:56:00 AM Dion looked down at Arielle and shrugged. "Not a problem, Miss Snark," he said, putting his wand away as the boys fled and the crowd dispersed. He was adjusting his bag when she grumbled next to him, and he looked at her again. "They're fourth year boys, Miss Snark," he said with a slight smile. "They haven't quite gotten the 'girls can hex your face off too' memo, at that age." He grunted derisively. "That, and despite what Miss Flickwick - Ruby, that is - may tell you, when two younger boys are fighting, talking them out of it rarely works - especially if they don't listen the first time." Still they were usually easier to deal with than the older students; being over six foot and muscle-bound helped too, of course. The way she spoke the phrase save the day seemed to have a sense of bitterness to it. Arielle couldn’t help that she had a bit too much pride. And that would be my recommendation," he added, in reference to her comment on force. "If your reputation is that you're nice, but dangerous if angered - people are more likely to listen." He shrugged."Hardly the most responsible use of a Time Turner, Miss Snark," he said, smirking. "But one that I can't blame you for having. You can always hex them later, of course," he added thoughtfully. "Though that might count as abuse of power."He shouldered his book bag again. "I was heading to the library - a bit behind on my studies." This was her first time as a prefect and there was definitely some learning to do. Not to mention she had not even been prefect all year, which was definitely not working in her favour. “I think I will work on having the dangerous bite aspect.” Arielle had a dangerous bite normally so why not let that sneak into the type of prefect she was.“I think hexing them later might be frowned upon,” Arielle laughed, “I doubt they would even remember who I was.” Since they appeared to not know she existed then.“Seventh year I am sure lends itself to falling behind, much like fifth year does.” Arielle was not looking forward to her OWL examinations. He had five sickles going on who would come out on top. He groaned and shrugged to his friend with whom he had made the bet. Apparently the fight had been over some stupid girl, typical. Women, the source of all men's problems. At least that's how Xavier was feeling by now. He had seriously pissed off Bella, he had disappointed Kit and word had it Ayla - of all people - was asking an annoyingly large amount of questions about him around the other fifth years. He didn't even want to think what the little pixie was up to now.He tilted his head to the side noting the conversation the two prefects were having. A wicked smirk played across his lips. So Snark was upset that she had no power and that Fayette had to come and save the day. This was definitely something he could use. He never really liked Snark but he was bored and since his bet had fallen through he needed to find another source of entertainment. A little mind play would do just fine.As the fourth year ran past him to head back to wherever it was he had come from, like Xavier cared, the Slytherin grabbed him round the collar and pulled him back. Thankfully he was a scrappy little kid and barely had any weight on him. Placing a perfectly honed disgusted look upon his chisled features Xavier lifted the kid off the ground and walked him back to the prefects."Now I do believe ye owe Miss Snark here an apology." He glared over to the fourth year whom he actually recognized, "Be a good lad there Tommy, say yer sorry to thee pretty lady." She was determined to be better than the prefect display she had given back there. She just had to show herself she could be better than that, unfortunately she couldn’t just go out and find trouble making students to prove something to herself. Arielle was not going to abuse her power, just to prove something to herself. While dwelling on that and walking with Dion she heard the sound of Xavier. The very thought of Tawse talking to her in and capacity was none too pleasing. The boy just rubbed her the wrong way and honestly she wasn’t sure why. Arielle had always felt hostility from him and in she returned it in turn. What did he want with her?Arielle watched as the Slytherin fourth year was carried over to her by the very boy she had learnt to dislike. What was he playing at? He was making the younger boy apologize to her? Tawse going out of his way to make her feel better? One problem with that was now she was completely skeptical of what his intentions were. “There is no need for him to apologize, all I ask is that they show respect to a prefect.” She said not wanting to show the slightest hint that a little apology would have made her feel better. Granted it would have been best had the fourth year done it of his own accord and not some silly plot by Xavier. He was up to something, he just had to be because he was never this nice to her.
