Continuing studies [Sasha] on December 26, 2010, 10:53:40 PM Aileen ReidHogwarts School of Witchcraft and WizardrySasha SchlagenweitMonday, February 16thDear Mr. Schlagenweit,I was surprised to see you'd missed class today, and even more surprised once I'd found out you'd missed all your classes. My first thought was yet another horrible Daily Prophet article, but then I was graciously informed of your departure from Hogwarts (professors are the last to know these things, it seems).I hope you are faring well. You must have much to do and think about, but I'm writing to let you know that I may be able to help you continue to study Ancient Runes. The choice is entirely up to you, and there will be no hard feelings if you'd like to take this time to narrow down your studies. That said, you're a promising student, and I'm not concerned about your ability to keep up to speed while you're away from Hogwarts. One solution would be to send you weekly summaries of what has been taught in Runes, as well as the assigned homework. Once you've sent your completed work back to me, I'd look it over and correct it, and if you required any additional help, we could discuss meeting. My time outside of class is limited, but once a month might be a good arrangement. There's no need to reply right away. Let me know what you decide at your convenience.Best wishes,Professor Reid Skip to next post Re: Continuing studies [Sasha] Reply #1 on December 27, 2010, 12:01:15 AM Sasha SchlagenweitLondon, UKAileen ReidHogwarts School of Witchcraft and WizardryWednesday, February 18thProfessor Reid,I apologize sincerely for my sudden and unannounced departure from class and school. I did not become aware of my pending dismissal until the morning I was supposed to leave. I didn't have much time to notify any of my friends or professors of the turn of events. Things are all rather confusing right now; I don't really know what my intended plans are for the coming months. As things stand, I will be permitted to return to Hogwarts at the end of the Spring term to sit my O.W.Ls and complete the year. I've got much to catch up on so being able to pursue my studies on my own may prove beneficial in the long run. Though I don't have all my plans figured out, I don't intend to narrow down my studies at this point. I do have all intentions of continuing to pursue Ancient Runes through this year and, if I return to Hogwarts, through N.E.W.Ts level. I believe it will prove beneficial for my future plans. I don't have concerns about performing to standard on my examinations; I pursued muggle academic studies independently since arriving at Hogwarts. I greatly appreciate your offer to provide assistance and, if doing so wouldn't be too much of an inconvenience, would like to graciously accept your offer. I believe meeting once a month would be sufficient. I have support here in London that I could seek assistance from if I come across minor questions. I sincerely thank you for your inquiry into my welfare. I'd also be happy to compensate you for any time spent in individual instruction.Sincerely, Skip to next post Re: Continuing studies [Sasha] Reply #2 on December 27, 2010, 12:55:29 AM Aileen ReidHogwarts School of Witchcraft and WizardrySasha SchlagenweitLondon, UKThursday, February 19thMr. Schlagenweit,I'm happy to hear you are doing well. Rest assured that I wasn't upset with you for missing class; only frustrated at the lack of communication on the school's part.I hope you will be able to return later in the Spring, and that with any luck, the transition will be a smooth one. I'm pleased that you intend to continue studying Ancient Runes. Considering your talents, you have many opportunities ahead of you, and I'm confident that you will succeed despite the unfortunate circumstances.I will be sure to send you the material for this week's class tomorrow. No compensation will be necessary for any individual tutoring, but thank you.Professor Reid Skip to next post Re: Continuing studies [Sasha] Reply #3 on December 27, 2010, 12:57:47 AM Abby-made-of-awesomeHogwarts-- I wish!Sasha SchlagenweitLondon, UKThursday, February 19thSasha!It's Abby. Hi. Do you remember me? We met at Bombay's Dinner Disaster of December 2008. Then again at Flickwick's Fickle... Finicky? Oh, bugger it. Flickwick's New Year's Par-tay! Of 2008 slash 2009!Oh! So I was thinking since you got kicked out of school (that sucks! ) I was thinking I could deliver your homework!! Whooo!Cos I have no life. No wait, I do. I just thought it would be fun to visit! Let me know! Right Away! Step to it!(kidding!)Well, not about the let me know part, You can do that whenever. I already asked Aileen and she said it was ok! She actually said it would be good for me to "get out of the house". I can't imagine why! Hah. If I could charm this letter to mischievously cackle at that point I would.See you soon! My sister deemed it prudent to kidnap take me on a trip for my birthday this past weekend. It was an enjoyable trip though my sister has a tendency to be a rather energetic and unpredictable traveler. I do remember you and both of those events. To be honest, I'm surprised to find you writing me as I was certain you disliked me. I'm relieved to find we are still on speaking terms. Or, at least, writing terms. I'd greatly appreciate it if you'd be willing to deliver my assignments to me and the company would be appreciated. Though I highly doubt your deficit of 'a life.' Unless my sister has any further intentions of whisking me off out of town, I suppose I will be around a fair bit in the coming couple of months. Right now, my schedule is fairly open. I'm usually at the stables where I board my horses in the mornings before eight and in the afternoons and early evenings. Outside of those hours, I'm usually at the Dreogan Eleor's and Akiva Katz' residence. You're welcome to come to their home or the stables or I'd be happy to meet you somewhere in London - whichever is more convenient for you. Please, please call me Abby. What gave you the idea that I dislike you? I'm sorry! I hope it wasn't something I said. Whatever it was, just lock it away in the corner of your brain labeled "rubbish". It comes in handy! The b-day trip sounds fun! Happy late birthday! Your sis sounds fun, too. Tell me where you went! Or you can do that when I see you.Of course I can deliver your assignments! I'll be faster than an owl and less noisy, too.Ok, that was a blatant lie. I'll be much slower. Plus talkative. It's your student occupational hazard.Would tomorrow work for visiting? I'm free in the afternoon because that's when I wake up! We can meet in London! Muggle London or Wizarding London? If it's Muggle, I'd better bring my own cash register.I think.Right? Cash reciprocal. With the clanging and the beep beep!Do I need a special pass? Last time I took the underbelly, I felt like I was in some kind of niffler tunnel. It's much better than the Knight Bus.~Abby! I tend to misinterpret them a lot. I had been under the impression you were friends with Cornelia Woolfolk and must have assumed since she was not speaking to me, you were not doing so either. I would be more than happy to give you more information about our trip when we meet in person. In the interim, we visited where my sister used to live in Amsterdam before heading down to my Grandmother's home in the mountains outside of Munich, Germany. Just after lunch tomorrow, I have arrangements to meet with someone about preparing independently for GCSEs. (They are a muggle form of exit examinations - similar to N.E.W.Ts. Except, of course, they proof you on muggle topics). There's a small coffee shop a short ways from here that's right on The Underbelly The Tube. Muggles don't exchange cash registers for goods or services anymore than wizards do - they use tender. Pounds here in the UK. Euros over across the channel. Not that you needed to know that. You provide the currency in exchange for the coffee and they put it in the cash register. But, don't worry too much about that. I've got plenty of muggle currency. You do, however, need a ticket to ride the Tube if you don't have a monthly pass. Perhaps Why don't I meet you at the Underground station closest to your residence around 1430 and we can either find a coffee shop there or catch a train. Wishing you well, Skip to next post
