Re: Silver bullet to the heart [SAWS booth, OPEN] Reply #30 on January 04, 2011, 02:07:43 AM Dion glowered as Toko got away and shoved his hands in his pockets. "Ten points from Hufflepuff, Toko," he said, letting the annoyance fade as much as he could. "And before you say anything Ruby - he's bloody drunk and on school grounds - he's liable to get detention from the first professor he throws up on." He sighed hugely and shrugged, biting his tongue; he so badly wanted to say "By all means, work your mama-magic on him - obviously it's done him good with the way he still gets drunk all the time," but self-preservation kicked in. He'd learned years ago that there was a line with Ruby and crossing it was very, very dangerous. Admittedly, that was what made bickering with her so fun, when his head wasn't so full of storms and he could think straight. It was like a duel they fought with words, and he couldn't help himself but enjoy it. He stomped over to Fauna, running a hand through his hair and sighing again, trying to get his thoughts together. "Chance headed off somewhere, Fauna," he said in a much lighter tone. "Toko is just drunk on school grounds again. Ruby's trying to squeeze the alcohol out of him or something." Whether Ruby was feeling him down for a flask or not was totally unimportant. The fact that she was squeezed around him at all was O + material, though. Dion, though. Dion could probably ruin everything forever. For that accusation alone, Toko valiantly wriggled out of Ruby's (really quite lovely) grasp. You couldn't look like an independently mobile individual with some girl twined around you."Alright. Let's get one thing nice 'n' sparkling, 'kay? I'm NOT drunk. I'm just...I'm just really pissed. That's all. And don't even make some dumb joke about...about being piss faced. Because I'm not. So quit it."The look he shot around the few still lingering about the booth was something exceptionally noble, perhaps with a hint of venom for Dion. Really, Toko looked more like pouty child. But all the same. He'd stick to his assertion. It was a terribly lonely looking booth, Toko felt. For all the people milling around it, there didn't seem to be any...well, customers. It only seemed fair that he fork over a few coins after making an ass of himself. Toko fished into his pocket for a few sickles, and clattered them onto the table top. He pointed at Thatcher. "Alright, can I like...have two flowergram thingies? You can take down my dictation or whatever." His fingertips brushed over a few likely candidates for plucking a fat white rose. "It should say something like, 'Dear Dax -- Where are you and also where is my juice? I'm being eaten by a badger. -- Sincerely, Toko'." His gaze swiveled around to the other flowers then, before he selected a rather sad looking yellow carnation. This message he didn't say aloud. Instead, Toko took up a quill and scrawled on a slip of parchement himself: Dear Dion -- Stop being such a douchebaguette. -- Kisses, Toko. She was pleasantly surprised when instead of getting attacked, she was pulled into a tight hug by Ruby and then Fauna, who both greeted her warmly."We managed to do alright, glad you're here now though we were just fighting about who got to stay with the booth and who had to try and out cute Pax on the dance floor selling flowers"."Don't worry about it.""I'll try..." Maddie chuckled weakly, accepting the hugs forced upon her awkwardly. It felt great knowing that she had at least a few friends who didn't judge her, but that didn't make her necessarily feel like herself again. Last year, she would have not only been a big part of the planning, but she would have been front and center for the selling and would have even written up a detailed article for the newspaper the next day. But ever since Halloween, Maddie had felt her confidence weaken considerably. Not only had she skipped some SAWS meetings and began to hide herself in the background, but she also lost her position as the editor of the schools paper. She hadn't even written an article in months.Needless to say, she was almost pleased to see everyone focus on the drunken Toko and not on her. As the 7th years tried to wrestle the girl... guy? (She couldn't honestly tell sometimes) out of the room before he got in trouble, Maddie slid behind the booth and picked at the flowers there. "Um... I can watch the stand if you want... It's the least I can do..." She said as brightly as she could manage. Skip to next post
