So it was time, the prodigal daughter had returned to the castle, or at the very least to the Hogwarts Grounds. In some ways Dolly wished it could be under better circumstance. The dance seemed to be going swimmingly; but the cause behind it was rather heartbreaking. She tried not to let that cloud her mind as she swished into position and took a seat in her "throne".
The booth looked
loveley, with it's swishy curtains and drapery. She felt very regal and as though she needed a crown! Smoothing the
skirt of her dress she crossed her legs and picked up a copy of her latest book.
There was not yet a line for her - which was mildly disappointing. Then again there were half a dozen booths and the concert would be starting at some point. She didn't want this run like a typical book signing anyway. She wanted the students to have full access to her. It wasn't something she allowed often but whatever would sell books seemed like a good idea. Flipping open the highly stylized cover she reread her own dedication for the zillion time. Man she really needed someone to distract her before she started fussing with the curtains and picking invisible lint off her dress. She loathed waiting for people to pay attention to her. Without constant adoration the voices in her head became very loud and she became very grumpy. Glancing up she threw a grin to the first person that approached, "And what, pray tell, can I do for you tonight"?
