Auror Investigated for Werewolf Deaths

The Ministry of Magic's treatment of werewolves has been an important topic of discussion and debate for years within the United Kingdom's magical community. Despite recent reforms, most questions have been directed toward the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures (RCMC) and its Werewolf Capture Unit (WCU). Although these departments have come under attack in the past for their policies toward werewolves and their capture tactics, information has come to light that shows Level Four is not the only department in the Ministry which harbors officials with anti-werewolf prejudices.

The Auror Office often works with the WCU in apprehending dangerous werewolves who are wanted criminals. This prophet reporter has discovered one of their most prominent senior Aurors - Ackerly Fox - has a questionable history in reference to his apprehension of werewolf persons.

Fox has been with the Auror office for nineteen years. He has worked numerous werewolf-related cases since completing his training in 1993 - including the notorious Greyback attacks in 1997. Including those cases, Fox has been a part of at least fifteen known werewolf investigations since beginning his career in magical law-enforcement. The majority of these cases have been in the last six years - a curious statistic considering Fox's inhumane treatment of lycanthropes in the past.

In 2003, Fox was investigated for misconduct concerning a high number of werewolf deaths in his previous cases. Of the eight cases that were specifically detailed in our source's report, Fox killed six werewolves. The Auror was put on a mandatory leave of absence while being investigated. According to our creditable source, Fox remained on this leave of absence for a mere month before the investigation was concluded. The determination of the investigative committee was that no undue force was used. The records were subsequently sealed, and Fox was allowed to continue his work as an Auror - work which includes more werewolf related cases.

This means that since 2003, Fox has been assigned to at least twelve more werewolf cases. Our source claims that there may have been more, as his information does not include the last few years of Fox's employment with the Auror office. Regardless of this obvious smirch on his record, Fox was promoted to senior Auror in 2007.

Our source feels it is a civic duty to enlighten the public of the type of people working directly with our lycanthropic members of society. This prophet reporter could not agree more. The question that we pose to our readers is: will you stand for this? Fox is just one of many in the Auror office. What about the others? And what about the witches and wizards who work specifically for the WCU? What kind of individuals are being allowed to slip through the cracks at the Ministry of Magic?
