Physical Description: Daphne is on the tall side for a woman her age, at 5'10, but not as slender as she'd hope. She's by no means plump, yet her hips are a constant concern for Daphne and she feels they're too large. Although a minor imperfection, they're a sore point of contention.

Naturally a brunette, Daphne has had highlights of blonde since she was sixteen, preferring to have that sunkissed feel. Reaching just past her shoulders, its usually let down and naturally straight, but Daphne's been known to tie it up during a mission. The last thing an Auror wants is hair in the face.

Facially, Daphne could be considered attractive; almond-shaped eyes are heavy-lidded, normally embellished by smoky grey make-up. Her nose is well-defined and prominent, but not offensively so, and with a pair of full lips, Daphne has broken a few hearts in her time. Not everything is as perfect as it seems, however; her face is large and wide, and from straight-on appears to lack angles and definition. Puffy, but again, not frightfully so.

Her style is distinguished, sophisticated, and always black; she's never been clad in colour, and all of Daphne's clothes are black, grey or very occasionally brown. Whether it's an effort to maintain a serious disposition at all times, or simply just a personal preference, Daphne doesn't even know herself.

Personality: At her time of graduation, Daphne was one of the most calculated, determined and headstrong girls to ever leave the halls of Beauxbatons - and nothing has changed. Her ambition and drive has been labelled cut-throat and ruthless, but Daphne does things purely for the greater good. Nothing stands in the way of her goals, and Daphne is prepared to do almost anything to reach the top. It can be mistaken for self-righteousness, but her determination is unfathomable. Daphne sees only success, nothing else.

Her ambition is flanked by a distinctly witty streak; in the company of friends, Daphne drops her usual façade of seriousness and can be known to be quite the comedienne - although all of her humour is somewhat cynical. Daphne is a good companion to have around, but sometimes, she can be a little too uptight for her own good.

This constant dedication has somewhat tarnished Daphne's lovelife; a self-admitted workaholic, she's keen not to have anybody serious in her life so as not to jeopardise her work ethic. Everything is by the book - even her relationships. This in mind, Daphne is no stranger to acting frightfully charming to attractive men: as long as there's no expectations, she's quite happy to keep them in her company.

Underneath the professional front however, is a young woman still seeking parental approval. Her distant father has moulded Daphne into an individual keen to establish themselves through work, to make a name for herself. Constantly seeking approval and praise from those around her, Daphne will stop at nothing to reach the pinnacle of professionalism.

History: Daphne was born at five minutes past midnight on the 2nd of June, 1983; a particularly warm evening, so warm in fact that millions of people in Paris found it difficult to sleep, rolling around restlessly all night only to awake the next morning with a dull headache and an eyeful of fatigue. The only Depardieu child was born to Raphael, a French halfblood, and his Muggle-born wife, Catherine. Her parents were soulmates, and Daphne's birth was an incident associated with tragedy: her mother died in labour. Raphael Depardieu was left to bring up their only daughter alone.

Daphne was a privileged child, her father owning a magical weaponry company in central Paris, yet she was painfully lonely. Her father was a shadow of his former self after his wife's death, and substituted his own parentage of Daphne with nannies and childminders who attempted to shower the little girl with as much affection as possible. She grew up in a world of adults, and made few friends in her childhood.

Daphne grew up having little contact with her father: mealtimes were usually a silent affair, with only the most basic pleasantries exchanged. Her maternal grandparents, living in England, still maintained a relationship with Daphne however, and she spent Summers with them on the southern coast in Portsmouth. Because of this, Daphne is both fluent in French and English, with each language without an accent of the other. Daphne grew increasingly close to her grandparents, and they became substitute parents for an increasingly distant father.

It was expected that Daphne went to Beauxbatons, and she really began to come out of her shell whilst studying there. Finally being accepted into a group of normal, friendly girls, Daphne soon rose in the academic ranks and worked continuously to set herself apart from her peers. She graduated, with flying colours.

She toyed with the idea of working for her father's company, but that was just too easy - an aptitude for Defences and her streak of determination landed Daphne in the French Ministry's Defender Office. A by-the-book Auror, Daphne impressed her colleagues by meticulously planning and executing major operations and handling dangerous situations calmly and efficiently - however, Daphne would never dare take a risk, and point blanc refused to aid a captured ally as there was a substantial danger to her colleagues. She would never compromise the safety of those under her rule, and a few other members of her office began to dislike Daphne.

Regardless of this, nobody could doubt her skill as an Auror. However, Paris had begun to bore her, and she soon relocated to Britain to live with her grandparents. Her father spoke to her twice a week in typical routine fashion, and she felt that she'd do better protecting her grandparents whilst the political climate of Britain heated up.

An opening the British Ministry created a job readily available for the relatively young Auror, and living in London allowed her to both work elsewhere in a new city whilst being able to keep her eye on the beloved grandparents.

Job Description: As an Auror, Daphne is ultimately concerned with the maintenance of justice. She has a certain satisfaction apprehending a criminal, and loves nothing more than foiling plans on the wrong side of the law - no matter how serious they are.

She has a certain expertise in spying and reconnaissance, and prefers situations of stealth to upfront battle. Regardless of her own preferences however, Daphne is more than ready to do all of the work and more; papers, filing, reports, victim support, interrogations - the young woman can't do enough for her job.

Relevant Expertise: Handling major operations in the French Ministry and as many extra hours as possible has sculpted Daphne into the perfect upholder of bureaucracy  - everything needs to follow rule and regulation.

Daphne headed three major operations and failed one, which resulted in six hostage deaths because she refused to put her entire task force at risk. This 'by-the-book' caution distanced Daphne from her colleagues; yes, she was a good Auror, but sometimes, the woman was too cut-throat to be true.

Summary: Dedicated, bold and ultimately bureaucratic, Daphne Depardieu is the paragon of justice: without rules and success, she doesn't see the point of living. Endlessly trying to impress her father, and attempting to make the best of her role in the Ministry. There's nothing she can't do to achieve her goal - and there's nobody that will get in the way.
