[14 January] Socialites Are a Girl's Best Friend [Lia] on October 27, 2010, 05:24:02 PM twelfth of january 2009Dearest Lia,It has been far too long since our last get-together, and I miss you dearly, my love. The tabloids are wretched things. You mustn't pay them any mind-- unless of course they're divulging the dirty laundry of a certain cousin of mine who will remain unnamed (not that she meets the societal standard for being written about). Let's have tea or champagne, and a good round of shopping soon. If you'd rather stay in, I can call my favorite masseuse and a caterer. Just the girls.Yours Through Eternity,Charlotte LotteCharlotte St. James, Thorne Towers, 30th Floor, London, England Skip to next post Re: [14 January] Socialites Are a Girl's Best Friend [Lia] Reply #1 on October 29, 2010, 08:35:57 AM 14th January, 2009Dear Lotte,Your letter really was a welcome surprise. Life has been dreary and awful, especially with all the business I've had to conduct and all of the people snooping around the estate. I am not accustomed to so many people who are not employed tromping around the grounds. At least, for the most part, they left the house alone. Since they were not aurors they had no reason to be searching or poking around. It was the RCMC that came out to investigate what had happened. The head of the beast division was an awfully lecherous fellow...Shopping would be nice, but I am trying to lose some weight. I know it has been a while since you have seen me, but it seems that I have gained quite a bit. I had to have some of my nicest dresses altered, and some are so tight it is uncomfortable. It's quite a pity. I do not think I could enjoy shopping until I am back to my normal size. Between you and I, I have found a potion that aids and I have been being more careful with what I eat. I suppose I've just been very stressed and depressed and have turned to food for comfort.Let's stay in and have a nice evening of gossip. Would it be just you and I, or would we invite Melly along? Though lately she has been attached to Sergei at the hip it seems. Gregori says he believes that Sergei might intend to marry her. Think, our Melly married before us. I always thought I would be the first to go. Salazaar Slytherin knows I am impatient for it to happen. But look at me- droning on. You pick a time and a date, dear Lotte, and I will come and leave all my troubles at your door. Personally. I'll be sure to have a word in your favor. They can't possibly penalize such an upstanding and contributing member of society such as yourself. Why, where would all the recently-graduated young ladies look to for moral guidance? Myself? Mmm. But I won't be cheeky, love. You need kisses, not more jokes.Don't be silly! You're a mouse, LiaLia. I won't let you lose anymore weight! Not an ounce! If you look like a beanpole next to me at our next function, I'll die. I am not being melodramatic. That's for matronly middle class types like my cousin, and women who never get out. I speak the truth. If anything, you need a good meal after all of this terrible injustice. A healthy meal. It'll balance you out just fine, no work on your part. I hear that vintagey burlesque throwback place in Diagon has hired someone new to their kitchen staff. She's supposedly so good that she left the Ministry to cook. Let's try it. Maybe we'll have found ourselves a new caterer by Valentine's. The Bluebloods for Dragon Blood Fund needs a kick in the donations department.Of course we'll have Melly along! You need more than my voice of reason to convince you not to take any silly potions for your dress size. And to let your hair down. Maybe we should even bring dates... I've been meaning to meet that man you're seeing. Melanthe's, too. But really, Lia, do you think either of us would marry before you? We're not exactly... mmm... what's the word? We put out. I'll sleep on it.Yours Entirely,Charlotte LotteCharlotte St. James, Thorne Towers, 30th Floor, London, England Skip to next post Re: [14 January] Socialites Are a Girl's Best Friend [Lia] Reply #3 on November 24, 2010, 03:57:06 PM 22nd of JanuaryDearest Lotte,I apologize in taking so long to get back to you.
