Physical Description: Even in his old age Arathorn is a large and impressive looking man. Under traditional wizarding robes it's evident that he still takes very good care of his body. He may not be as ripped as he was in his hayday but by no means is he a frail old man. His silver hair is cut short as he still works hard within the menageries and learned at a young age having long hair around magical creatures was not a good idea. His strong jaw and cool grey eyes gives him a stern and handsom appearance. It's easy to see that when he was young Arathorn was a very attractive man.

Personality Description: Arathorn is a stern and strict man often using what's best for the company (or the school) when making his decisions rather than what's best for his employees or the students. His many years have taught him to be strict with anyone as that's the best way for anyone to straighten up and learn their lesson. There's no room to be soft in this world.

He is fiercely loyal when it comes to his family. His children and grandchildren are often his soft spot, doing whatever necessary to help them succeed in life. Though he doesn't always agree with his children's decisions he'll still support them and help them whenever he can. He's gone as far as wiping his son off the face of the wizarding world to cover up his illegitamate child with a muggle.

Although not cruel to those inferior to him Arathorn does believe in a strict wizarding Heirarchy with Purebloods at the top, halfbloods just below them, then muggleborns, magical creatures and muggles and squibs coming in last. He believes all wizards should adhere to this ideal and those that don't aren't worth his time. It killed him to see his youngest son leave a proper pureblood woman for a trashy muggle tart and produce two halfblood children. He has done what he can for his son but only so his misdeeds don't soil the Wentworth name. He has never openly laid claim to Peyton and Helena.

Arathorn is a warrior by nature and despite his purist mindset he's always been fascinated by muggle weaponry, or rather weaponry of all kinds no matter who created it. He has a large room in his mansion devoted to all sorts of weaponry and spent many years in his youth travelling the world to collect them and learn how to properly use them. He believes in being prepared and doesn't see this as a blight on his person but rather an admirable trait. Muggles are horribly savge creatures that are better left alone but Godric do they know how to make a good sword.

History: Arathorn was born the eldest of six children in a long run of english purebloods. As the only male in his imidiate family he was instantly name heir to the wentworth fortune by the time his youngest sister learned how to walk. Arathorn was raised as a proper pureblood son, served by house elves and taught by tutors before he received his Hogwarts letter. Even at a young age Arathorn was taught the ins and outs of the family business, being the sole heir. His sisters were left to learn how to be proper women of high society.

At Hogwarts Arathorn was sorted into Ravenclaw and was seen as a model student. He excelled in almost all of his subjects, doing his best in history and Defense against the Dark Arts. Arathorns friends in school consisted of the most influencial of purebloods, never giving a second glance to anyone that wasn't within his high society social circle. He paid no real attention to girls preferring to focus on his studies knowing that his parents had already chosen his wife for him.

After graduation Arathorn took several years to travel the world learning as much as he could. He became fascinated with weaponry and while he travelled he began to collect as many different types of weapons as he could get his hands on. The family business was in good hands, his sisters were all betrothed to important pureblood men and he didn't have a care in the world knowing that when he returned he'd be married and be able to start a family of his own.

Upon his arrival he discovered the wife his parents had chosen for him had become the black sheep of her family and attended the Auror Academy against his parents wishes. Seeing as a challenge rather than a loss Arathorn courted the woman and eventual fell in love. She was wild and there was a fire inside of her that he had never seen before. They were married after she graduated from the Academy and not long after had the first of their own seven children.

Although his father would have liked him to join his side in running the family business Arathorn followed his wife's encouragements and went down a different career path. He became an Obliviator for the Department of Mysteries and every now and then was able to work alongside his Auror Wife. His children, like any pureblooded flock in at that time were mostly raised by nannies and tutors.

When his children were grown, his daughters all married off to respectable men and his youngest, his only son, attending Hogwarts and dating a well known pureblooded girl Arathorn's own career aspirations were put on hold. His father died and like he had always promised left the entire company to Arathorn. He knew the job well and didn't disappoint as he left his job at the Ministry and took up the helm of his father's million galleon business.

Things were looking up again, his daughters were starting to have children and he was a proud grandfather. He oversaw all the dealings of his company while working to go international. When his son graduated from Hogwarts he began grooming him to one day take over the company like he had from his father. He took Henry on many trips around the world to meet with very influencial wizards that could help make Wentworth Menageries a global operation.

Not long after he signed the contracts to set up Menageries in Austraila, the United States and Canada Henry dropped a bombshell on him. While they were touring Henry had gotten a lowly muggle pregnant. Infuriated at his son's incompetence he gave the boy all the money possible to set the woman and child up in a house out of the way of those that mattered, making sure they were well taken care of. He didn't need the little tart running off to the Prophet and ruining the family name.

Life went back to normal and Henry seemed to have smartened up. He married his Hogwarts sweetheart and produced a proper pureblood heir. Much like he did for any of his other grandchildren Arathorn spoiled Xavier taking pride in his one true grandson. As was the Wentworth curse it seemed only one male was to be born each generation.

When Xavier was seven Henry once again disappointed his father by leaving his real family behind to live with the muggle tramp and their illegitamate children. Arathorn was beyond furious when Athilia contacted him about Henry's disappearance. He let the Ministry try to find his son while he went to the country house where he knew he would find him. Henry refused to come to his sense and in a fit of rage Arathorn snapped his son's wand. He told him that he would never want for anything but he was no longer a wizard. Wiping any trace of his son away Arathorn went back to work business as usual.

He refocused his efforts on Xavier showing the child he was still loved and still important. He taught the young man how to box and how to fight without a wand but as his work was demanding he wasn't able to be there for his grandson as much as he wanted to.

As Xavier got older his rage towards his father got worse and he stopped attending family functions going as far as dropping Wentworth from his name altogether. Hurt by his grandson's actions Arathorn withdrew and left the child to his own devices.

Hearing that Henry's bastard son was now a wizard Arathorn secured a position on Hogwart's Board of Governors as a way to keep on eye on his grandchildren.

Describe your job duties and how you go about them: Owner of Wentworth Menageries: Arathorn is responsible for running everything from the top, making sure all the stores are running properly, are adequately stocked, beating their competitors and properly staffed. Since taken over the company he's been able to secure international contracts turning the wealthy company into a million galleon operation with over five hundred shops around the world.

Hogwarts Board Govenor: As one of the Govenors for the Hogwarts school board Arathorn is approached when important issues need to be adress concerning the school, like when a Headmaster is deemed incompetant and needs to be removed. 

Elaborate on your expertise in your field: Arathorn has been groomed from a very young age to be able to run the family business. He has known the ins and outs of running the business since he was ten years old. It has been tradition for centuries for the male heir to take over the family business once the Patriarch is no longer capable, Wentworth Menageries has grown a lot since it's humble beginnings as a simple shack selling magical creatures.

As a prominent figure in wizarding society it wasn't hard for Arathorn to become elected to be on the Board of Governors. While he has no real expertise in the field he has proven that he has good ideas and knows what is good for Hogwarts as a whole.

He is very wealthy and a pureblood traditionalist believing in the societal heirarchy of wizard life. He's fiercely loyal to his family except for his son whom he disowned when he ran off to be with a muggle woman and their illegitamate children. He's been trying to reconnect with his only true grandson Xavier as he is the only heir to the Wentworth fortune.
