Hell's Genius Roams the Regions of the Dark

A snapshot of Ignan considering the season, and partaking in something he does each new year of a very private nature.

I had to pin down a few elusive details with Ignan as to what exactly happened, though it seemed apt to write it given that the recent classes have brought the memories to mind - additionally, his thread with Torquil is in the time between this memory and him returning to Germany. I've wanted to write a change in the way he behaves from his almost arrogant and friendly manner to others, to the sour face he is now, just to explain why he's that way.

No, I haven't pinned down the finer details of how he ends up in the situation, that was the other thought I had, but it would be no fun if I had a good plot reason later to establish it differently. So questions of marriage - no, as he tells Tapendra, almost, and to the woman with the long curly dark hair, but not.

He does think in times alone about the fact if they had a child, they'd be about 14 or 15 now (wizards having longer lifespans and the rest of the whole genetic slowdown deal stacked in their favour - besides, the woman he was in love with was younger than him)

It does make me want to write murderous, bloodthirsty Ignan though. Alas.

Skee!  The first post of my Snapshot's finished!

Since the Runespoor explosion I've been undecisive about what to do with Figaro's dad who's been criminally implicated in the crime and facing trial.

This snapshot's been a wonderful opportunity to try and make a choice.  Will Figaro's dad be sent to Azkaban or will the case lead no where and the charges dropped?

In my snapshot, Figaro's mom and little brother come up to visit him to break the news.  What's it going to be?

Cliff hanger!

Figaro Sellaphix was nervous as hell.

Dear Figaro,

Frank and I are making the trip up on Saturday to see you.  I've spoken with your Head of House and he's agreed to give you a pass for the day to come to Hogsmeade.  Don't panic and we'll see you soon.

Love,
Mum

Wheeee this was fun! I hadn't quite thought too hard about the family dynamics of the Ketteridge family.  And so this was fun to do because of that.  Plus since now Mysti is a metamorph, I wanted to try and establish a bit of her use for that, and how her family thinks of it as well.
It helped me see into a bit more of this, and I'm glad I decided to do this.

Just Hide your Secrets Away

Oh rockin', Lyssa!  I love the idea of Mysti kicking her whole family's butt in Quidditch.  Her family's so uptight about the metamorphmagus thing.  I can't wait for her teenage rebellion when she spends all her time looking like Scary Spice, Steve Buscemi and Marge Simpson.

Finished Sophie's Snapshot. I'm trying to establish sort of a baseline for her relationship with her grandmother, and also deal a little bit with the way Sophie feels about her ability as a Seer. I haven't got to write much about her struggles with it, and I think - given everything that has been happening for characters on the site Soph's had a hard time lately both keeping it in check and understanding what her visions/readings mean when she cant'. So. Yes. This was fun.

Tales from the House of Morgan-Harpers

Instead of one long snapshot, I wrote a number of mini ones. I've been playing these characters in some form or another for years. Over the years I've thought up all sorts of backstory for them, particularly centering on their home lives. For all three of the Morgan-Harper siblings, this has had a huge influence on who they are today. This was an excellent time for me to get to share some of the development that has gone behind them, especially since the complexities that make up the three siblings' relationships with each other are rarely played out on the board. Besides the obvious problem of rping with myself, these are relationships that have been developing all of their lives, often in the privacy of their home. Especially Landis and Erin, who despise each other, barely interact on the board, and certainly not to the extent as to show why they despise each other. So these are just some moments from the three's shared past, written fast and for fun.

Because, have no doubt, these are fun to write.

Christmas With the Family; in which Ackerly shows the world what a terrible father he is and how out of touch with his son he has become. What 13 year old wants a play set for cops and robbers?

Nov. 2003 | The Hardest Part of Breaking Up (Snapshot Challenge)

Candy's snapshot is done too. It's her break up with her ex-fiance, and helps to explain a lot of her lack of self esteem and the reason she hasn't really dated since then. Heart wrenching to write :(

An Heir is Born

I actually wrote this quite a while ago and kept forgetting to put it up here.

After runing away from school and hiding out in Knockturn with Dazmond for about two weeks Xavier is taken in by his estranged Grandfather who informs him of his family legacy and his part within it. When Xavier refuses to go back to school and be apart of the family again Arathorn takes matters into his own hands.
