Physical Description:

Carter is just under five feet tall. His hair is platinum blonde and usually a mess and in need of a cut, which he gets twice a year whether he needs it or not. He's pale and doesn't tan well, instead burns, peels and goes right back to where he started. Not that he cares. He's got much more important things to worry about than a healthy tan. Like running his pirate ship. Speaking of, Carter's eyes tend to fluctuate between blue and brown. Not because of some weird magical creature inbreeding or trick of the light, but he always wears an eyepatch and can't make up his mind which eye it looks best eye. Like his father, one eye is brown and the other blue.

Personality Description:

 Carter is a pirate. That should tell anyone what they need to know, at least by his way of thinking. As one might guess, when Carter gets into something, he goes all out. So far, pirates have been his longest standing obsession, closely followed by go-karts and model-building. He still likes go-karts, but it's hard to get the time for them when they require a lot of parental help and expensive equipment. Model building is something that he incorporated into his pirate obsession, building and painting lots of ships and even putting together a gorgeous Spanish galleon in a bottle with the help of his dad. How does he manage to do so many things and school? With GRATUITOUS AMOUNTS OF ENERGY. Somewhere, someone exposed Carter to the magical land of energy drinks. Because there is nothing am eleven-year old needs more than caffeine and sugar boosts. When he's not hyped up Monsters, Carter can actually sit still and concentrate well. He has a lot of patience for delicate work like model building. Of course, when he's not, he can be a little too high-strung even for close friends and his devotion to his pirate alter-ego can be equally trying as he stubbornly refuses to publicly admit he's a kid.

History:

Carter's parents were divorced when Carter was still an infant and never kept in touch. A lot of that was probably because Carter's father, Sammael, never bothered to keep in touch or tell Carter anything about his mom or that, oh by the way, he was a twin. Sammael Morsely was never a very forthcoming type and the few sentimental moments Carter has with his dad are when they were working on building or creating things.

Sammael Morsely is creative, much like his son, only his talents are largely involved around glass-blowing. It's not his main source of income, but he's done several commissions and sales that fetch a tidy sum. His main line of work...well Carter doesn't actually know and his dad never bothered to divulge. So Carter decide his dad was a ninja. A wizard ninja.

Life was mainly just Carter and his dad. Sammael never dated or remarried. Sammael has one brother who married and had children, but they only see each other around the holidays.

The small Morsley family live in a small secluded house just outside the hills around Chatsworth in Derbyshire.

Of course, Carter fully expected to get a letter from Hogwarts. What he wasn't expecting was a letter to arrive for his dad shortly after. Well that wasn't strange. But it was from his mom. Because his brother-his brother!?- also had gotten one.

According to Sammael, he and Carter's mother, Heather, had split up because of
"irreconcilable differences." Sammael himself is a bit of a purist, not in a way that made him hate muggles or muggle-borns, rather he had the view of a imperialist-era anthropologist, a sort of fascination and amusement at the 'quaint little muggles' and their devices. He also recognized the importance of a large gene pool for the best results and best wizards. hence him being open to the idea of marrying and having children with a muggle in the first place.

Sammael seriously doubted his other son would have significant magical abilities so never made an effort to contact Xander or Heather after the split. After the discovery that Xander was accepted to Hogwarts, Sammael invited him to his home, to spend a week with Carter, give a cram-session on the wizarding world and taking other boys to Diagon Alley for their supplies.

Carter was very excited to find out he had a brother and immdiatly adopted Xander as his First Mate in all his adventures. Xander didn't have Carter's energy level (who did?) but was a willing First Mate and had all sorts of amazing idea. And, on top of a twin brother, Carter also discovered a cousin! A cousin his own age that would actually play with him. Hogwarts was going to be the best seven years EVER. Even if they were in different houses.

How Do You Fit Into Your House?:

  "Well I'm pretty dedicated and hardworking. It takes a lot of work to be a pirate. A lot of work, that no one shows you in stories and stuff. And this one time I spent over 50 hours on this model ship all by myself. I kept a record of it. But it was the best ship ever! At least until my dad and I made another better one in a bottle. Hey family loyalty- that's another Hufflepuff thing, right? I love my dad and I made my new brother and cousin high ranking ship people"

Carter is a hyperactive child, who certainly doesn't need the energy drinks he is nearly addicted to. Despite his 'rugged pirate shell' (his words) Carter is a big ol' softie who just wants to have fun with good friends and family.
