[Jan 24]Wishing to be friends is quick work [Teagan]

Wishing to be friends is quick work, but friendship is a slow ripening fruit.
~Aristotle

There was a small smile playing at the Muggle Studies Professor’s lips as he maneuvered Diagon Alley.  The trip to London was long overdue, but life had been extremely hectic in the weeks following the Christmas holiday.  It all seemed to be settling in once more, giving him more time to focus on his book and decide he was overdue in making a trip to Scribbulus.

He knew he could use the standard ink and quills provided at Hogwarts or order supplies, but the chance to see the bright smile of the sales clerk at Scribbulus had him making the trip to London.  He had gotten to know her a little better on Christmas Eve and her personality was simply infectious.  When around her he usually found he couldn’t help but return the grins that graced her lips.

He was glad to find the shop hadn’t closed yet as he opened the door and ducked in out of the cold.  Pulling his gloves off he shoved them into his coat pocket taking a moment to look around.  The holiday decorations had been taken down, but the feel of the shop was the same.  Slowly making his way down one aisle he paused at the now very familiar ostrich quills, a smirk forming on his lips.

Teagan heard the bell over the door ring, signalling the entrance of a customer. She was in the little storage room at the back of the store, rummaging around for a box of everchanging ink to restock the shelves with. But at the tinkling sound she abandons her search and steps down from the step ladder, dusting her gray slacks off before making her way back to the shop proper.

Glancing at the clock on her way past the counter, Teagan noted that it was almost closing time. Hopefully whoever had walked in wouldn't stay too long and she could get home. The evening prior she'd had a lady come in just before closing and the woman had dithered about whether or not to purhcase this or that for almost an hour - and then hadn't bought anything at all! It had been entirely frustrating.

As she recognized this particular customer, however, her polite smile widened to an out and out grin. She changed her mind - he could stay as long as he liked. It had been exactly one month since she'd seen Professor Fraiser, and Teagan was more than happy to have him back in the shop. "Well hello there!" she greeted him cheerfully, then teased- "It's been a while since your last visit here - I was beginning to think you'd found some other place to buy ink."
