[Dec 22] Darkness is Cheap [Grimm, PM]

Really?  Really? Was this actually happening?  Archer was well aware that weird things happened in some parts of the RCMC, but to get a message from the very odd desk of A. Grimm on his desk at any point was just about the last thing Archer wanted.  He was busy, working on a case and putting his life together, did he want to deal with Grimm at the moment? No.

The man was creepy.  As much as he liked the Eleors, he could not imagine how it felt to be related to Grimm and understood completely how much it irked Adon every time he even heard the name.  It made sense that there was a rumored friendship between Malone and Grimm – both were weird in their own rights, it would make sense they would have something in common. It was inevitable.  Archer, however, did not have anything in common with him and outside of one unfortunate investigation in the past, Archer avoided working with him.

It helped that his specialty was working with only those that killed and not those that were already dead.  Severely limited contact between him and Grimm, so why on Earth he was getting a bizarre note to meet on Level Four was beyond him.  It was beyond him.

He contemplated throwing the note away and ignoring it, but somehow, he just did not want to risk dealing with the wrath of Alberic Grimm.  It would probably result in some form of voodoo curse or something – the same sort of treatment bestowed upon some members of the werewolf response team – not that the whole lot didn’t deserve a bit of hazing once and a while, but not by Grimm.

So, Archer bit the bullet.  He got up and put a little sign up outside his cubicle with a tack “Be back soon,” before stomping out with a purpose.  This was going to get done quickly.  So he moved with efficiency toward the lifts, pressed the mechanical button for floor four and ascended quickly, almost like the immediate floo.  Tricky, holding down the “door closed” button and shooting upward.

Stepping off the lift, Archer straightened the front of his robes and glanced at the note in his hand.  It said level four.  That’s where he was.  It said 2:15 PM, that was the time.  Now, the specifics were missing, as customary, and Archer sighed.  He really despised this sort of thing.  He glanced at his pocket watch and the ticking second hand.  Five seconds beyond 2:15 and he was out of here…
