I am going to have Liadan's business have a huge issue with a vast majority of her creatures getting sick and dying from some magical illness. It's going to be in the daily prophet. After all of the animals start dying, she's going to realize that she will need to have a massive recall on any ingredients that she has shipped out in a certain amount of time (that I've not decided yet).

This could easily effect potions masters, the school, apothecaries, anyone who uses animal parts for any type of magic. Especially if they get tainted ingredients and it mucks everything up. Depending on how fast other distributors can replace everything, it might put a hurt on business for a while, too.

Anyone interested in getting involved or have any ideas or ways to elaborate??

OOOOO. Sounds exciting!  Landis and Juliette are currently working on a Potion after hours... maybe something will happen then, or in the Potions classes with the students. Esp. if a student got injured, there'd be more publicity/notoriousness about the whole thing. You'll have to talk to Tor about that though.

I love the idea of a student getting injured! (I know that's horrible!). But you're right- it really would make it a bigger deal. It would put a big dent in the farm's already shoddy reputation. Especially considering that she's already on the ministry radar...

If any of the ingredients ended up at the Ministry in the DoM that would certainly cause some attention as well.  I'd be willing to toss Dante and some NPC underlings into the mix as well.  I don't think anyone has specified who his supplier or the Ministry's supplier is, but if something went wrong I know he'd want to get to the bottom of it.

I would love for something to happen in the Landis/Juliette thread, but a student accident sounds like it would be ideal for everyone! Perhaps both? Juliette will be none too pleased if this happens during her first month on the job.

If it happened at the school, that could be interesting for Declan, too, considering that his name is also attached to the farm- even though he doesn't run it. I think it would be fun if a lot of people got involved- the more incidents, the better.

As far as Dante goes (<3) it would be great, to me, if that happened in the confines of the ministry. She has a reputation of very potent ingredients from some of her creatures- her standards of raising them are impeccable,but you can't prevent sickness sometimes.

What I would also like to see, if that happens, is perhaps some sort of ministry investigation as to why exactly her ingredients are going bonkers. Given her past and the fact she's already being watched, it might be a little suspicious that her ingredients are blowing up the students and the ministry and random people.

Sarah and I were talking about Niobe sending Torq over to the farms to research what is going on for Niobe, and to possibly help his cousin out at the farms. Could be a way to keep the Prophet on top of all the things as mishaps started to break out, along with the Ministry getting involved.

ifn you want, I;m fine wiht it being Josh's potion thta goes worng. whihc would cats suspicion on the ingrediants, as he tends not to screw up potions...

That would be great!! Liadan would be thankful for someone who might actually be friendly. She could take him on a tour of everything- and he could do some sort of photojournal type thing.




As far as Arielle/Josh are concerned, I would poke Tor about that? I'm all for having them get hurt, but I am not sure how Tor intends to do it within the classroom since she is running it.

Ideally, I was aiming for something to happen in the 7th year class, both because I already have drama-inducing plans set in place for the 5th years' first lesson with Juliette, and because the 7th years are bound to be following more intricate instructions (and thus may be met with a more headline-worthy accident).

I think 7th, 5th, and a Landis/Juliette accident is a bit of a stretch-- the Charlotte in me will have my head if I let poor Lia go down forever-- but I will totally keep the Josh and Arielle offers in mind! If we do decide to go with an ingredient problem in the 5th year class, perhaps they can be paired together for the experiment Juliette is planning.

If you don't already have someone lined up for the seventh years conside Matty on the chopping black. What a confidence killer that would be for him, it's one of the only clases he's taking (he dropped a lot after OWLs) and he's generally an O student for it (though Juliette doesn't use the OWL grading system, at least not with the first years:P)

Matty is a perfect candidate, thank you! I think this happening to a high-achieving Potions student makes it all the more news-worthy. (But I can see how that would cause some grading drama and a drop in confidence, lol. Poor dear.) And any other 7th years are welcome, since they'll probably be working at stations.

Juliette uses the OWL system for 4th-7th years. With the younger years she prefers to grade in percentages/numerically (though this may change, depending on the way the rest of the staff and Analiza react). I remember Hermione using percentages to explain her grades before fifth year rolled around and everyone was worried about OWLs.

I'd love to have Dazmond involved in this!  Perhaps she could accidentally send out a whole lot of spoiled potions to her clients -- this could potentially affect the unregistered werewolves who drink her wolfsbane as well.
