Background: The Egyptian Dagger wiki page

So Elle and I (and a few of you!  ) have been talking about continuing to step up the Cult of the Phoenix plot.  Since we're getting close to putting the plan into action and since we think it's going to be a lot of fun, we wanted to extend the invitation to any other players who are interested to throw their characters into the mix.

Jonas, Aileen, and Abby are going to be visiting the British Museum on New Year's Day, after the Reids return from Egypt but before the Hogwarts term resumes.  While they are there, the unfortunate presence of one of the Cult of the Phoenix artifacts is going to bring some of the mummies back to life.  The mummies will attack, the characters will get to experience what it's like to be in a Brendan Fraser movie, and the Ministry will presumably be left to clean up the aftermath.  (Which I can't imagine will be pretty, since it will happen in the middle of a Muggle museum!)

Ways that your character could get involved:

• Another visitor at the museum
• Ministry employee who responds to a call for help
• Reporter covering the aftermath
• Et cetera!

I think that we are really open to anything with this - we want to have fun with it, and we'd love to get more characters involved.   There are plenty of restless undead to go around. 

If you'd like to jump in with a character, post back or let us know.  We can conspire ways to get all interested parties to the museum so that everyone who's interested gets a chance to play!

She has some experience with mummies through her line of work and recently remet Jonas as well.  It could be an incredibly fun experience and I am happy enough to totes participate in some ridiculousness!  It will also be a killer story to tell Gwenna, her future protege <3

Malcolm Blake offers self up an for possible "persuasion to make you speak" with Ministry if some were to confuse him for Terry. Otherwise, he'll be there as a journalist for London!

I can offer Megan up as a visitor to the museum. Feel free to use her for anything else though!

I'd love to have any of my characters go to the museum but the only ones I could think of as being feesible would be either Lexus going along with Jonas (which I don't think actually works timeline wise) or Cillian just for the hell of it.

I'm sure I could find some sort of artifact or something that would cause him to be there. Maybe an Egyptian Divining rod or something like that.

I'd love to throw Fiona in the pot as well.  This entire thing is like her daily bread and I could imagine her being called in as a specialist, kind of thing?
Josephine is at the Museum for Wizarding History with Fiona on that day, maybe that is how they both get to be there? Someone could storm the thread...

EDIT: random input: If  Josephine and Fiona are in, the thread will be dominated by redheads.

I can't promise anything, but perhaps Keegan could be there, forced to attend by his father or something.

Everyone's suggestions sound great! I can PM you all and post here when we've got the thread off the ground (we probably need a few posts of Jonas and Aileen bickering because it's just well, necessary ). And then everyone will be welcome to pop in!

Perhaps when things get out-of-hand, Hildegarde could study the dagger and realise that it's a dangerous item? She is an archaeologist after all, so it's not that unbelievable.

I think it would be funny if Torquil would be there to find something about werewolves, a little clue or hint or something, and then end up in the mummy mix, and then he could provide a lovely story for the Prophet afterwards.

Malia, the mummy invasion won't actually be caused by the dagger, but by a different artifact altogether. However, Hildegarde is welcome to work with Analiza (check with Alisha first) when Analiza blackmails Aileen into using the dagger for her own purposes.

And the chaos has begun!
