[Dec 22]The Budding Entrepreneur [Teagan, Open] on August 06, 2010, 01:31:04 AM Clinton shoved the huge stack of paper flyers under his arm as he approached the next street lamp. The flyer in hand fluttered in the breeze as he awkwardly withdrew his wand from his coat pocket. Glancing around, Clinton mashed the flyer against the pole while muttering a permanent sticking charm. There. Slowly he pulled out another flyer from betwixt his side and arm, the edge only slightly moist from sweat. He adhered it to the other side, forming a sleeve for the pole that featured his hope for earning a living in the city.PRIVATE YOGA LESSONSThe sign boasted free training from a practiced yogi, featuring a picture of yours truly in a pretzel-esque form that Laney had dared him to perform. She had bet he couldn't, and he was damned determined to prove her wrong. He cringed at the picture, captioned with testimonies of improved flexibility and spirtuality. Also a stronger core to entice witches and wizards--another contribution a la Laney. She was far better at marketing ones' self than he had imagined. Quidditch and all that, he supposed. The flyers littered both sides of the alley as Clinton was determined not to mooch off his sister for so long. He already owed her three bags of kettle corn. It wasn't his fault the snack was so addictive. The thought of food made him hungry again, but Clinton was determined to finish his chore first. Making his way towards the next shop, Clinton rapped his knuckle on the glass display. Catching the attention of a store clerk, he pointed at his flyer than at the corner of the window, pantomiming permission to post his advertisement. Papering tax-provided lamps and walls was fine, but to intrude upon someone's territory required permission. "Mind if I post this?" he mouthed widely, attempting to get his point across without yelling. She loved the holidays, she just didn't love working around the holidays, especially in retail. It was stressful. Fortunately tomorrow she'd be leaving to spend a week with her family, back home in Glasmór. It would be a nice little getaway, and a much appreciated chance to see her folks. And there were, fortunately, lulls in the bustling activity. She was in the midst of enjoying one, leaning against the counter with a sigh, when there was a rapping sound on the shop window. Curious, she moved out from behind the counter where the register was, in able to get a good look at whoever it was. It turned out to be a young man, holding up a flyer, wanting permission to hang it up. To her surprise, Miss Murphy recognized him. "Clinton?" He couldn't hear her, through the glass, but that didn't stop her from saying it. She blushed - Teagan had had a very brief, awkward romance with Mr. Irving, back during her final year of school. She'd heard he'd gone off to Russia after he'd graduated - it was rather surprising to find him outside of her work place all of a sudden. She held up an index finger. "One second," she mouthed through the glass, before putting up a 'back in fifteen minutes' sign and slipping out the shop door. She could take her break a little early this once, she supposed. "Clinton? Is that really you?" Not that she knew who else it would be - an Irving imposter? "I heard you were in Moscow."outfit Skip to next post Re: [Dec 22]The Budding Entrepreneur [Teagan, Open] Reply #2 on August 24, 2010, 04:12:10 AM And the finger. Clinton paused, lowering the sign from the glass as he waited on the clerk to step out. He had prepared a small rundown for confrontations such as these, and was about to give her the whole new-age spiel before he recognized her. "Teag?" He blushed, their previous history flashing before his eyes. She looked the same, the same rosy cheeks although more well-lit than from the typical corridor corner. He stepped forward, awkwardly slipping his wand back in his pocket to give her a one-armed hug. "Yea, um, just got back, actually," he replied, adjusting the stack of flyers under his other arm. "How are you? You look great," he blushed again, "Haven't changed a bit." "I'm staying with Laney, for now. Teaching yoga on the side. What have you been up to?" She was used to running into acquaintances from school, of course. Diagon Alley was a very popular shopping destination. But Clinton... He'd been in Moscow for the past however many years! She hadn't really expected to see him again. "Wow, I can't believe you're here!" She told him, returning the one armed hug and feeling torn between delight at seeing an old friend and awkwardness over their shared history. But, that had been a long time ago, all the way back in school. There was no reason to let it effect her behavior now. But when he told her she looked great, her cheeks still flushed bright red. "Thank you," she said quietly, ducking her head and letting her hair swing forward in an attempt to hide the blush. "You look good, too. You teach yoga? Cool. How is that going? How was Russia?" "I haven't been up to much, really," she admitted, shrugging. It was kind of embarrassing actually. He'd been living in a far off place and the most interesting thing she'd done was move from Ireland to London. "Just, you know, work. I live in London now - with my brother. You remember Declan?" And warmth. She was a sweet girl, one of the best, and Clinton was glad to see that remained true thus far. He returned her smile, unable to do anything but grin at the girl. "Thanks," he replied, "It's going alright, I suppose. Just starting up. And Russia was, well, cool," he laughed, thinking of its harsh winters. London was a cake walk in some respects. "You should go some time," he added, "It's beautiful in the spring.""Tall, blonde bloke? Funny nose?" he asked, gesturing with his free hand about his own nose, "Yea, I remember him. Cool. I guess living with siblings is the thing to do, these days. Glad I'm not alone." It actually was nice to realize that he was no longer alone. In Moscow he was an individual, but back in London he was just another Hogwarts alum still trying to make it. He was curious how many of his other classmates were still bumming a couch from the family. "When'd you start at Scrib's?" He asked, "Seems a good fit. Think I could catch a discount on parchment? Flyers cost more than I thought," he added, with a sly wink. Of course he'd never impose on her, but it never hurt to ask. She would rather have stayed at home in the warmth, but needed to do the things she’d been putting off. Being close to Christmas and all, she figured getting a couple of last-minute gifts for a couple other friends would have to be done soon. So Trina bundled up in one of her favorite coats, and some warmth-spell enforced jeans, and had apparated to Diagon Alley.Going in and out of shops most of the morning was getting a little tiring. A lot of people were around, all trying to do their Christmas shopping as well. Trina had to stop a few times, as people kept recognizing her. But she didn’t mind too much, as she didn’t want to seem rude to fans. That was something the musician was still was trying to get used to, having fans. Of course, people asking her questions about her dating Hunter Radley, the ex-Quidditch star got a little annoying. She had the right to keep her personal life to herself, didn’t she?Eventually she found herself purchasing a cute beanie from one of the clothing stores. That, paired with her sunglasses, helped cut down on the recognition. Finally, Trina was able to get the rest of the items she needed without stopping too much. She was about to head back home, when she spotted a flyer. Private Yoga lessons. Trina had taken a few classes, but oddly enough, felt a little awkward with a bunch of people watching her. Private lessons seemed like a good idea. And the guy seemed like he would be a good teacher, judging by him in the picture.Looking to her left, she saw the guy who was hanging up the flyers. Trina made her way over to him. He was chatting with a girl, and Trina thought they both looked somewhat familiar. Then again, a lot of people went to Hogwarts, so that was a likely place she knew them from. They looked a couple years younger than her, but were most likely there when she was.“Hi, I’m sorry to interrupt, but are you the one teaching private yoga lessons? I’m guessing you’re still in the process of putting them up, but I’d love to talk to you about it when you’ve got time. I’ve been looking for someone to go to about yoga.” Trina hoped he wouldn’t be weirded out by her eagerness to find someone for yoga. And hopefully his friend wouldn’t be mad at Trina’s interruption.[I hope this works! You said after you posted for Clinton, so I went for it haha.] Skip to next post
