Re: [Dec 21] A Deadly Christmas Gift (Kitty, Moira, Zoh) Reply #30 on September 21, 2010, 06:05:11 AM Hearing the name Delvin Matthews, Sam's expresisonb chaged, as if he wasn't surprised who it had turned out to be. His son had always suspected Matthews would end up on the wrong side of an auror's wand, but probably didn't anticipate it being this soon. " Delvin Matthews, eh? 7th year ravenclaw, weren't you at the SAWS mixer only two days ago?" Sam said, not batting an eyelid as Roh restrained Matthews. " living ropes, Roh? bit comfortable, aren't they?" he said, half-serious. It would be clear to Roh that he wasn't bothered by her use of them ( or her restraint method) but was saying it for the benifit of Matthews. " I prefer using nice tight bands of steel myself. slight bloodflow constriction always seems to deter them from trying to escape." he said, agian half-serous. He did use steel bands that went around the wrist and chained together, but they weren't tight enough to consrict the bloodlfow. They were also escape-proof anyway, not having a key (or even keyhole) but that was beside the point. Drop him in the dungeons till we can call his mum to come vouch for his identity. Your mum home from work yet?" It literally took all Devlin had in him not to spit out some derisive and probably sexist remark in her direction. What a bitch, bringing up his mother like that. Granted, she probably had no idea that his mother was long dead, but he was past the rational that reminded him of that fact. Luckily for the both of them, he was forced to turn away before he could say or do anything he would regret, a thick rope winding its way around his hands and cinching them tight. He tried not to wince or grumble as it rubbed against his skin. In fact, he tried not to show any emotion at all. As long as he kept up his claims of being innocent and didn't let them bait him into screwing up, he had a chance. A slim one, but a chance nontheless." Delvin Matthews, eh? 7th year ravenclaw, weren't you at the SAWS mixer only two days ago?""Devlin." He corrected the mispronunciation of him name instinctively, irritation hinting at his voice before he managed to conceal it again, continuing "And yeah, I was... My girlfriend runs it and I was there to support her." He knew Josh was part of SAWS and assumed that Harcroft himself had a soft spot for the cause. Perhaps he would grant him some sort of benefit of the doubt if he believed they were in agreement about something. Unfortunately, Harcroft went on to chide Roh about using ropes instead of shackles and Devlin had a sinking feeling that doubt would not come into play. " I prefer using nice tight bands of steel myself. slight bloodflow constriction always seems to deter them from trying to escape.""Look, I am not going to try and escape... This is all a misunderstanding..." Devlin started, stumbling over his words as they pulled him along, trying once again to plead to any sort of compassion they might have for a youth gone astray. "... I will gladly go to the ministry with you and explain everything and you will understand that this is just...just a mistake...a really big mistake..." She pocketed the eggs and there was no wand. They'd get him to HQ get him processed, lose the paperwork that would alert his family he'd been picked up, and get down to business. So far they hadn't dropped Theodora Kingstreet's name - Zora was saving that one for her interrogation. If she was still allowed to be alone with Devlin. Maybe that paperworked, about her O.A.F. would have to get lost as well. Zora's saved this operation. She'd scooped the owl, she'd rushed in after Spade the No Show, she'd caught him with runespoor eggs in hand. She'd fight like a lion to be the one to question him.She pushed him out of the locker room and back down the corridors to the front. She paused at the desk, holding "Matthews" firmly at her side, and spoke to that receptionist again."Next time you see Mediwitch Moira Randall, let her know we'd like a word or two with her," she said with a smile. That was going to be a fun conversation as well. Skip to next post
