After Dinner
OutfitGoing to have to do some sit-ups and push-ups later... Aiden thought to himself as he made his down to Slytherin House from the Great Hall. He hadn’t stuffed himself but considering he lack of food intake that day, Aiden ate a bit more than he usually would at one sitting. But, as always, it was nothing a little bit of working out couldn’t fix. Besides, Aiden liked exercising. Not only did it help him keep a skinny, semi-muscular figure, but it also served as a way to distract his mind from things that troubled him which he had a fair amount of.
When he reached the common room, Aiden set his bag down on the black leather couch and continued on to the boy’s dormitory. There he changed out of his school robes into casual, comfortable clothing and reentered the common room. He picked up his bag and sat down where it had previously been, opening it and pulling out a black-bound journal with his initials and a quill.
Though Aiden wasn’t much of a writer, he did find keeping a journal to be calming. It allowed him to put all his thoughts down in one place where only he could see them, well, that was the theory anyway... After a long day of classes and letters coming in from his father trying to pry into his life, this, right after dinner, was the perfect time to write out his frustrations. Then after this he would work on schoolwork, exercise, shower, then go to sleep. That was what Aiden did almost every weekday. It was his schedule. Ever since he was little his life had been scheduled out for him, and despite the fact he wanted to break away from his father’s hold, he couldn’t quite bring himself to break all his old habits so easily. It had to be one step at a time....
Aiden sighed and reached his hand up to scratch a small itch on his forehead when his inkwell suddenly dropped from its balanced position on his knee to the ground, spilling ink all over the rug on the cement floor.
“Brilliant, just brilliant!” He exclaimed through gritted teeth as he set his journal aside to peer down at the damage.
