Under the direction of their new Headmistress, Analiza Snark, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry put on a grand forest themed ball for students and teachers alike. It was a surprisingly generous move for the ill favored Snark and she hoped that it would help smooth out previous animosities towards her for the earlier expulsion of a werewolf student. The Students Against Werewolf Segregation, Also known as SAWS, apparently thought differently. In a move that, while not as devastating as the fire they caused early in the school year, was disruptive and damaging. The 'prank' involved a highly concentrated and powerful new form of Polyjuice being poured into the punch bowl early in the evening. It was infused with wolf hairs and when several students drank from it, they were transformed into horrible half human/half wolf hybrids that closely resembled Werewolves. The chaos that ensued caused emotional trauma to many of the younger students and ended in a small fire that caused property damage. The epidemic was quickly secured by the school staff and an investigation lead by the headmistress herself was immediately put into action. At first, suspicions were placed on the President of the Art Club that set up the Great Hall for the festivities, Fauna Blake. She is a well known supporter of SAWS and is rumored to be one of the heads of the elusive group. However, these suspicions were turned away when more incriminating evidence was found in the possession of one Madeline Pratt. Pratt is also a very outspoken member of SAWS and has been open about her dislike of the new school administration. She is also a former room mate of Olivia Foley, the werewolf that had been expelled, and Darcy Bloxam, the student awaiting trial for the fire started in the Hospital wing earlier this year. Snark suspects that another student spiked the punch while she caused a diversion by instigating a fight with a well respected Slytherin student by the name of Xavier Tawse. The investigation into the identity of this possible accomplice is still underway. In the meantime, Miss Pratt has been given 4 weeks suspension and has been sent home for the duration. Whether or not she will be allowed to remain at the school depends on her behavior during her probation time afterwards. On an unrelated note, Ravenclaw 5th year Sasha Schlagenweit was given the same punishment, although the reason for his suspension has not been disclosed. Those of you might remember Sasha as another outspoken Anti-Snark student who was present at the attack on Knox Greyfriar last month. Whether or not his suspension was because of involvement in the Halloween attack remains to be seen. Skip to next post
