[November 9] The Sign of the Four

on June 24, 2010, 08:54:57 PM

It is early Sunday morning, long before any Aurors dedicated enough to be working on a Sunday have made it into the office, when the Runespoor casefile reappears on Tamis Raynor's desk.

Though all of the papers inside are intact, a tiny, yellow square of paper has been attached to the front, seemingly secured along its top by some sort of Muggle temporary glue.

That very same day a rather large barn owl arrives at the window to Jonas Trevelyan's Office and makeshift home in Muggle London, perching itself atop the "Reed and Wright" sign and pecking incessantly at the glass until it is let in. An impatient hoot draws the eyes of passerbys down below, surprised not only at spotting an owl, but one acting so peculiar.

Once let in, the owl extends its leg, revealing a very small and very flat package for the taking. Mission accomplished it nips spitefully at any available extremity as it waits for dismissal or return Post.

Inside the package is a Ministry Identification/Access Card and a very brief note.

As per request. You should not encounter any problems. Gringotts will handle your fare. Ask for Radhuk.

P.S. The owl bites.

Tamis Raynor sat in her office with the Runespoor Case File still open before, staring down at the offending note now grasped between her fingers tapping against the thin strip of sticky-yet-non-sticky substance adhered to the back of it with a child’s curiosity. It had clung to the parchment she had warily peeled it from and yet it was not sticking to her fingers. It was a shocking and enlightening piece of ingenuity, if disturbing.

After several moments she tossed it in the fireplace and began to thoroughly check the File before her. While she trusted Jonas, paranoia was hard to shake.
