I hope you've been doing well since I last saw you. Winter break is almost here for us Hogwarts students, so the SAWS members and I have been throwing some ideas around. I know you're always quite busy, so if this would be too much of a hassle, especially over the holidays, just let me know and I can find another time to plan it. But we were thinking about maybe having a mixer, or get-together at the RCMC sometime over winter break, so people could get to know werewolves and, well, mix. If you think this might work, I could send out invites, and arrange for food, and those kinds of things. I just mainly need a place to hold the mixer and, well, your permission of course! And any advice is appreciated. What do you think? Would this even be possible? Thanks very much,Fauna Blake Skip to next post Re: [December 1] Holiday mixer Reply #1 on June 22, 2010, 07:47:49 PM Department Head Covadonga GertrudisLevel Four: RCMCMinistry of MagicLondonMiss Fauna BlakeHufflepuff TableHogwarts School of Witchcraft and WizardryScotlandThe small note is written in a rush on MOM lavender paper, the handwriting very different from her official documents and other letters, hardly legible.02.12.2008Fauna,Apologies for the manner in which this is written, but the beginning of the month is always a busy time for me.I love the idea of a mixer! I have actually been planning something similar for the summer so all could attend, the first (in what I hope to be an annual) Gala was to be dedicated to all those generous people who have donated their time and resources toward the Werewolf Wing. I anticipate that your idea is more along the lines of an informal but educational affair? I would be happy to help.Send me a list of materials, ideas, date/times, et cetera and I will work on getting things together. Once the term ends perhaps we can schedule some meetings together to hash out the details?Sincerely,Covi Gertrudis Skip to next post Re: [December 1] Holiday mixer Reply #2 on July 04, 2010, 02:23:34 PM Fauna BlakeHufflepuff TableHogwarts School of Witchcraft and WizardryScotlandMs. Covadonga GertrudisOffice of the Regulation and Control of Magical CreaturesMinistry of MagicLondonDecember 3, 2008Dear Miss Gertrudis,I'm so glad you like the idea! The Gala you talked about sounds exciting, and yes, the mixer would be more of a casual, educational get-together.I was thinking, perhaps Friday, December 19 would work? My idea for food and such were things like simple drinks and oderves snacks appetizers, instead of a full course meal, because it'll cost less and be more casual. I could ask a few werewolves to speak about their experiences too, if you think that would be in good taste? It would be great if a large amount of people attended, but I'm not sure how to figure out the numbers exactly. Because I know SAWS members will come, and I hope that some werewolves will come, but I'm not quite sure how to be able to tell if others will attend and how to make sure there's enough space and food and everything.Sorry for the hassle! I will think more on it, and just let me know if you have more input! And I'd love to meet with you sometime when I come home for the holidays. Thanks,~Fauna Blake Skip to next post Re: [December 1] Holiday mixer Reply #3 on July 09, 2010, 03:16:49 PM Department Head Covadonga GertrudisLevel Four: RCMCMinistry of MagicLondonMiss Fauna BlakeHufflepuff TableHogwarts School of Witchcraft and WizardryScotlandThe handwriting is MUCH neater in this letter, one word bolded for the young woman's benefit and education, the parchment cleaner and delivered rolled into a scroll with the official Ministry seal holding it together. As a personal touch Speedy, Covi's right hand avian, is sent, no doubt knocking into a few owls and knocking some things over as his crooked flight makes an ungraceful landing. Once dropping the letter he tries to wiggle his head under Fauna's hand for a pet.04.12.2008Miss Blake,Do not fret about the food or the cost of it. That will be covered. My culinary staff in the Wing needs some practice outside of concocting delicious proteinaceous dishes for our monthly visitors especially if they are going to take care of the occasional event such as this. Putting together a round of hors d'oeuvre will be good practice.December 9th sounds good. Keep in mind that's a little less than a week after the December transformation. Some of our more experienced Werewolves will probably be able to handle walking about and being cordial while passing on information and advice, the others... not so much. I will put up a sign-up sheet at the Registry desk and send out a notice to the government-run Safe Houses asking for volunteers.Do not trouble yourself with thinking about numbers, space, et cetera. We are witches and wizards after all.Sincerely,Covadonga GertrudisPS: Speedy misses you, make sure you give him a little love before sending him back. Not any food, though... he is getting a bit chubby. That's how it's spelled... thanks. And thanks so much for offering to cover the food! That'll be so helpful, and I really appreciate it. Youre right about the numbers, too. I still think like a muggle sometimes.I will try to encourage other seventh years to come and... I might be wrong about this, but I think the Daily Prophet is going to publish a more positive article about SAWS, and I've been sending letters back and forth with one of the reporters, so I'll mention the mixer then too.The reason I picked the 19th, even though it's only a week after the full moon, is because it's closer to the beginning of the winter festival and there aren't too many events happening yet. But I do see what you're saying about mood and all. Thanks very much for your help! I hope to see you in a few weeks!~FaunaP.S. Don't worry, Speedy got much love and pets from myself and the other Huffles at the table! Skip to next post
