Physical Description:

Physically, Aiden, like his personality, is mature for his age.  He is tall (6’0”), skinny, and would be considered a beanpole if it wasn’t for the signs of muscle on his arms and abdomen.  His eyes, like his shoulder-length hair, are dark brown and big.  Any of Aiden’s emotions can be read through his eyes.  His nose is long and ends with wide nostrils that flare whenever Aiden sees something he considers distasteful, which is almost everything.  Then there are his lips, which are smaller in width when compared to the edge of his nose and nostrils.  This peculiarity with his nostril to lip ratio has bothered Aiden ever since he was young.

Fashion and clothing-wise, Aiden, being raised by his rich English father, has been wearing clean, sophisticated clothes his entire life.  Anything flashy or obnoxious isn’t tolerated, nor is anything too revealing or bold.  At least, that’s what his father’s standards are.  Aiden, on occasion and as a passive way of rebellion, will wear things he knows would not be allowed in the Young household, but it’s nothing really bad.  He’ll wear leather vests and tight jeans that show off his long legs, but only if they’re from one of his favorite outfitters.

Personality Description:

From a bystander, Aiden would appear to be a snobby rich kid who thinks he’s too good to socialize with most of the other students.  However, this isn’t quite true.  Yes, Aiden is from a wealthy family, but the reason he comes off as snobby is simply because he doesn’t believe in partaking in ‘childish’ or ‘immature’ behavior.  As the only son and heir to his father’s business, Aiden has been bred all his life to be the definition of refined.  And he has despised every moment of it.  Nevertheless, though, he carries himself sophisticatedly giving him the atmosphere of a cold, emotionless robot.  Most of his replies are short, blunt, and honest - but usually nastily so.  He’s not one who likes to be bothered, so when he is, he’ll make a point of telling the offender to bugger off.

Truly, though, Aiden is much more than that.  If somehow one was to catch him alone and off-guard, they would find a teenage boy seeking to be free of his father, wanting to re-unite with his mum, and just be a freaking kid!  Aiden loves sports, muggle and wizarding alike.  Ever since he was young, he would sneak away from his home into muggle London, find a place playing football matches or whatever, and watch.  He can be a crazy fanboy when you catch him at the right time during a game.  Along with that, Aiden also enjoys running and working out.  It’s the easiest way for him to release his frustration and stress quickly without completely going insane.

Romance wise, Aiden isn’t much of a Romeo.  Though he is a good-looking boy, he hasn’t been in many relationships due to the fact that he finds the whole thing ‘silly’.  He’s never had strong feelings for another person, so he’s never seen the point.

History:

Aiden is the result of a drunken night at a karaoke bar in Seoul, South Korea.  His father, Anderson Young, the owner of Young’s Private Magical Investigations, had become infatuated with a Korean muggle hotel maid, Soonyi Lee.  Their relationship was meant to be nothing more than a fling until a couple of months later when Soonyi showed up at Anderson’s London home, pregnant.  Because she had gotten pregnant out of wedlock, while engaged, Soonyi was kicked out of her family’s house.  Fearing for her baby’s future, she knew that Anderson was her only hope.  Unfortunately, Anderson, still a singly bachelor, only took Soonyi in with the agreement that he would get to keep the child, seeing as he was in need of an heir to the family’s fortune.

A few days after Aiden was born on October 30th, 1992, Anderson kicked Soonyi out of the house, keeping the baby boy.  The businessman was determined to raise Aiden as his son, his heir.... his puppet.  Aiden was brought up by multiple nannies, only receiving attention from his father when he was being lectured.  He was educated by private tutors, trained in taek kwon do, and told from day one that his future would be to inherit the Young family business and run it.  There was no other option, no other choice.

Aiden was told little about his mother during his childhood.  All his father would reveal to him was that his middle name was his mother’s surname, that she had returned home after his birth, and that he should be grateful to be raised as he was.  Never did Aiden ever really buy his father’s statements about ‘Lee’, so he made it a goal to someday track his mother down and found out the truth.

On his arrival to Hogwarts, Aiden knew he was finally somewhere where he could temporarily escape his father’s wrath.  He was sorted into Slytherin. From his first year on, Aiden has continued to work hard in his studies.  He really had no choice.  He had to get good marks or else he’d be hided by his father.  But, also, Aiden is a pretty bright lad.

Now in his fifth year, Aiden is beginning to discover a little bit of the ‘rebel’ inside of himself.  Determined to escape his father, find his mother, and live his own life, Aiden is working hard to patiently wait out his remaining years at Hogwarts for his chance to begin living.

How Do You Fit Into Your House?:

Coming off as a cold, snobby prat with a brutally honest personality can be associated with the Slytherin characteristics.  There really is no other house that would suit, or willingly accept this teenager.

Writing Sample:
‘As the heir of the Young family, you should no better than to slack off like you have been doing.  How will you ever be qualified enough to take over a business when you are lazy and ignorant? I just don’t understand. I never raised you to be that way. I-’

Aiden crumpled up the letter from his father without even finishing it.  There was no need.  It was always the same thing whenever his father was displeased with him, which was most of the time.  All Aiden had done was skip one class, one.  It wasn’t like his grades had suffered any from it.  It wasn’t like he was going to be expelled from Hogwarts.  He had just wanted a break and some alone time in the dorm.  But his father considered this to be even more proof that his son was an absolute failure and a shame.

Grabbing his wand, Aiden levitated the letter in the air, staring at it with his angry eyes.  One of these days.... One of these days he would be free. Free from his father. Free from Hogwarts. Free from the lies.  Free from what he considered his ‘past life’.  He wasn’t a puppet to be controlled.

“Incendio!”

‘One of these days you won’t have me anymore, father, and then what will you do? Who will you control? You’ll have no one.’ Aiden smirked as he thought to himself, watching as the letter before him turned into ashes that fell to the floor.
