Family Motto: Honor the purity of nature

Family History:  The Forrester Family, like so many others of their name, originally started as loggers back in the eighth century.   Sometime in the next two centuries, they came into service of the House of Plantagenet as royal gardeners, woodsmen, and wizards.  They served the Royals for awhile until Sebastian Forrester decided he had seen entirely too much blood while serving Richard I.  With that in mind, the Sebastian relocated his family to a woody area of Scotland.   For the next two hundred years or so, the Forresters became herbologists of note.  They did two things for a living.  The first was grow large quantities of potion ingriedients, which they would sell to apothecaries and potion makers.  The Forresters also did a fair amount of logging for magical timber, which is how the axe is came to be on the family crest.  Since then, the family has become more diversified and currently has wizards from nearly all disciplines.  Over the centuries, the Forresters have accumulated a large amount of wealth.  The wealth is passed down in a patrilineal manner, and daughters born into the Forrester family typically get a dowry in order to attract a politically suitable husband.  First-born sons generally have an arranged marriage where the main consideration is politics.  The Forresters have had a seat on the Wizengamot for over five-hundred years.
