Life in Sedona - Red Rocks and the History of Kendall and Morrigan

November 1, 1980

"Gran, I don't want to go to another school! I want to be at Hogwarts!"

Kendall had been pleading with his ailing Grandmother for the last three days.  Portkey travel had been nearly impossible, and apparition even more so.  Travelling from London had been by a series of floo connections from London to Glasgow, then to Dublin, to Torshavn in the Faeroe Islands.  From there it was to Reykjavik Iceland, and Godthab Greenland.  On from there to St. Johns Newfoundland, Halifax, Boston, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Tulsa, Salt Lake City then Sedona.  Each Floo trip had only seen Kendall digging his heels in deeper and deeper to stay with his beloved Aiene.

This school was spread out over several acres, and unlike Hogwarts, this was no castle.  Modern brick buildings spread across the property.  Currently Kendall was outside the Administrative building where the Dean of Student's office was.  Amethyst Stonewell was currently enrolling her grandson and was not particularly happy with his antics.

Standing in the hallway outside the main office, Kendall looked at the floor and scuffed his runners.  He did not want to be here and he would be back at Hogwarts before Christmas!
“Come on, Meg!” Morrigan called to her friend who was trailing behind her.  “We’re going to be late and I have to pick up that package for Professor Olsen in the office before class.”

She was walking backwards as Meg struggled to keep up with the redhead’s pace.  Honestly, if they didn’t want to be late to class they had to hurry.  Professor William Olsen was, in Morrigan’s mind at least, the best professor in the entire school and Transfiguration was quickly becoming her favorite class.  Of course it helped that she seemed to have a knack for it which earned her the instant approval of the young professor every girl at school had a crush on.

“Clearly he’ll notice if we’re…” she was in the process of turning around when she ran into someone’s back and found herself tumbling backwards onto the floor.  She landed with a thud, her books scattering and she just sat there for a moment trying to process what had happened.

Angrily brushing the hair away from her face as she looked up at the person who had been in her way she heard Meg rushing to check on her, but ignored her friend.  It was a boy, one she hadn’t seen before, and her guess was he was a new first year.  Her eyes narrowed slightly as she took him in, instantly deciding she didn’t like him as he had the audacity to be standing in the hallway.
