Do they have any annoying quirks? If so, what are they?

Hm, I’ve never really considered him to have any particular quirks, though domestic!Ignan hasn’t really featured until recently. I imagine he is a man of some routine, so has to perform certain tasks before he can settle down to sleep, or leave the house - setting wards and checking things etc. That might get irritating for someone else, given he’s not lived with another person for a very long time.

How might they be ignorant or prejudiced?

Ignan is still quite ignorant about Muggle life, or how Muggles manage without magic. He thinks them going to the moon or performing space travel is particularly laughable, which Tappy tried to put him right on. It’s just quite alien to how he’s perceived Muggles for a lifetime. He does see them as second class citizens, but is sympathetic to the modern society who believe them to be more equal.

He also sees no issue in employing a house elf (by comparison to the Malfoy’s he’s quite a fair employer). Some might think he’s archaic for continuing the practice.

    Morning
    Headcanons-on-a-train series post: here

Early riser, prefers not to talk for the first half hour to hour and just follow personal routines. Rare to lay in bed, even if Miranda is there.

    Weekday Lunch
    Headcanons-on-a-train series post: here

Often catches a brief bite to eat but uses the time to follow up students at their lunch tables or tutor the odd one.

    Travel
    Headcanons-on-a-train series post: here

Apparates and walks as much as possible. Floo otherwise. Hasn’t been on a broom in a long time and has ridden all manner of beasts. Very suspicious of muggle cars.

    Colleague Approaching Desk
    Headcanons-on-a-train series post: here

Greeted with suspicion but generally respect. As long as he is not about to teach or interrupted disciplining students it is safe. Trivial questions at your peril. May continue working as you speak.

    Drunk
    Headcanons-on-a-train series post: here

Sings rude songs, changes character to something vaguely approachable, generally remains steady on his feet to get home. Tends to be more honest, less reserved.

    Pets
    Headcanons-on-a-train series post: here

Has never elected to keep a pet. Has looked after working animals on his travels, like a hippogriff (eaten later). Doesn’t feel the need.

    Aspirations
    Headcanons-on-a-train series post: here

Life has changed a lot in 2010, so he will take his health, and hope he and Miranda are still taking the piss out of each other in 20 years. Teach as long as he can until he is too decrepit and then perhaps write a text book of how you should teach the subject to belittle his successor.

How do they prepare to go out for dinner with friends?
    Headcanons-on-a-trainplane series post: here

This is a somewhat rare occasion, especially now married it involves coordinating Miranda out of the hospital. A bath, suit (probably one purchased from Darian Morgan) and a lot more attention to detail than a teaching situation. May involve cuff links. Prepared on time exactly.

How would they cope with an unexpected, anonymous valentines gift?
    Headcanons-on-a-trainplane series post: here

Treat with suspicion and defuse traps in private.

    What is an Airplane?
    Headcanons-on-a-trainplane series post: here

    “Ask Tapendra.”

Where is the furthest they have been abroad?
    Headcanons-on-a-trainplane series post: here

South America, with Georg. Hasn’t really done East Asia, Georg did that after they split because Ignan hadn’t been so interested in going there together

    What was their first job?
    Headcanons-on-a-trainplane series post: here

A few weeks’ summer experience working for a friend of the family who sold elaborate chests and storage furniture for concealing valuables, when he was 16. Decided he was no salesman, but was intrigued by the charms.

    First romance?
    Headcanons-on-a-trainplane series post: here

First kissed Lene Larsen, a zufrieden, and in his words, “pretty, somewhat clever. I did it for a bet, my friend’s rival wanted to ask her to dance. When she found out she tried to curse me. My father demoted her to a dreg. Couldn’t look her in the eye even after we left.” But his first proper girlfriend was a fellow auror trainee for two months.

    Thoughts on having children
    Headcanons-on-a-train series post: here

Wasn’t ever a plan. But he didn’t rule it out in his twenties as something he would do later in life. Being a dad in the circumstances he found is very strange and he accepts he’s made a pig's ear of it.

What would happen if they bumped into a celebrity in an unusual situation?
    Headcanons-on-a-trainplane series post: here

Probably take ten minutes to realise who they are, if he recognises them at all. Would respectfully ignore their recognised status if at all possible. Worst thing is for people to be pointing and staring. He doesn’t consider himself a celebrity by any stretch of the imagination, but he would actively avoid all children and their families out of term time for the same reason. May recount the story later to friends or family, and be unable to remember the name of the person he saw.

16: Do they collect anything? What do they do with it? Where do they keep it?
    Asked by Nuri on Tumblr

Ignan considers that he collects rubbish essays from his students most often, which he marks and sends back with disparaging comments. He has collected some items from his travels, mostly the ones he has retained have use in teaching his subject, or have value for memories. He doesn’t actively seek to collect anything, though has like many academics and wizards, a fairly comprehensive personal library. His and Mira’s new place in Hogsmeade has a room crammed full of healing and defensive topics.

    22. What are their favourite insults to use? What do they insult people for? Or do they prefer to bitch behind someone’s back?
    Asked by Nuri on Tumblr

Whatever springs to mind! He isn’t conscious of a particular set of stock phrases, but he enjoys turning a student’s statement round on themselves later. His usual insults are for their magical abilities, their effort and results. He might take a swipe a colleague for their disorganisation of paperwork and marking, or inability to discipline and control students he also teaches. If he ‘bitches’ of sorts, it’s with his few closer contacts, he’s not afraid of saying things to someone’s face.

    What flusters him?
    Asked by Kelly on Tumblr

Physical affection in company. Ignan and Miranda don’t engage in public displays of affection apart from subtle interactions such a hand to a waist or an arm. He kept a straight enough face around the unwanted attentions from Deus Deres, but if Miranda were to show particular affection in company he’d probably find it uncomfortable and become a bit flustered - more because he wouldn’t be able to outright shove her off or hex her, as he wouldn’t do that to his wife.

    What is his guilty pleasure?
    Asked by Kelly on Tumblr

Miranda. No, probably ripping pieces off students verbally and physically - only a little. Just enough to hurt and make him feel he’s sought suitable revenge. He’s not an entirely likeable character, one forgets because he’s generally a restrained sort. If not that, drinking Ogden’s whiskey and not sharing a drop with anyone else. Selfish.

The character’s emotional state most of the time
    Asked by Nuri on Tumblr

Most of Ignan’s term-time hours are spent attempting to stay calm and in control of students. He is a level-headed person, despite his less than charitable words and actions. Calm, efficient and in control, with a spoonful of healthy arrogance.

    What makes the character cry
    Asked by Nuri on Tumblr

Cry?! He is insulted by the notion that he does. Ignan would possibly only come close to eye-watering through intense physical pain or through the unexpected loss of someone he loves. He’s too proud to let anyone even suspect he can.
