A Travesty For The Wizarding World, Or A Chance Of Redemption For A Wronged Witch? by Francesca Reece
We’d like to hear your thoughts.
5 years ago, Nicola Randall, 25, was sentenced to life imprisonment in Azkaban for the torture and murder of Auror-in-training, Ralph Harrison, 20, after an attempt to cover up her smuggling of illegal goods into the country.
This morning, Randall walks free. Following new evidence being found, the Wizemgambot released the witch and apologised for the mistake.
But is it possible they’ve got this one wrong?
The department for Magical Law Enforcement seem to believe so as they are still watching over the rogue witch. No one from level two cared to comment.
Rumours have been floating around about overcrowding in Azkaban prison.
‘With all the Death Eaters taking up the cells, they just don’t have room for your everyday murderer.’ Commented local shop owner, Patrick McKeen. ‘The woman is quite clearly guilty and now she’s wondering the streets after having been given her wand back’.
Not everyone believes Randall to be guilty. Most people believe that there was a reason she was let out but do we still want an accused murderer free in our streets? The prophet doesn’t expect to see society opening their arms out to her.
We want to hear what you have to say about this new verdict. Do you think it's safe letting this woman out, or will we soon be finding more aurors dead in our alleyways?
