    Georgianne Sleeper: Ministry Welcome Witch

    on May 16, 2010, 11:03:43 AM

Full Character Name: Georgianne Leigh Sleeper
    Character Birthday & Age: July 24, 19
City & Country of Birth: London, England
    Pureblood, Halfblood or Muggleborn?: Halfblood
    Alma Mater: Hufflepuff
    Job: Welcome Witch

Wand: 13 1/3 inches, Hazel wood, bendy, Phoenix feather core.

    Physical Description:
Build/Body type: Georgianne is tall, on the thinner side of average. She has the curves of a woman, and shows them off when she isn't at work.
    Estimated Height/Weight: 5'11" // 145lbs
Hair color: Georgianne's natural hair color is black. She lightens it a dark brown with caramel high lights in it. It's long, past her shoulders, and very thick. She keeps it wavy and free- what she calls a natural, wild look.
Eye color: Her eyes are naturally brown, but Georgianne uses a beauty charm every morning that makes them blue with brown flecks. She thinks the blue eyes make her look more "interesting".
Skin color: Due to her mixed heritage, Georgianne has inherited a warm, light brown skin tone.
First Impression: Depending upon where a person meets Georgianne, their first impression varies. If they meet her at the ministry, they would just assume she's a normal, presentable young woman. If they meet her when she's having a night on the town, then they would assume she's another party girl- which is a more accurate impression.
Any odd/outstanding features?: Georgianne is very tall for a girl- standing at 5'11".

Personality Description: Georgianne is an open minded and tolerant person. Coming from a mixed background, she has learned that there is much more to people than how they look. She's accepting of all alternative life styles, and very rarely judges a person before she gets to know them. It aids her in her job, seeming nonthreatening and welcoming and charming. This trait also helps Georgianne make friends with even the most unexpected people and maintain her friendships.

She is a vain, image conscious person. Clothes and shoes are her favorite things, and quite a bit of her income goes toward buying things she might not necessarily need. She has all the best make up, and is building up a closet of designer clothes. Georgianne gets her hair touched up on a biweekly basis, keeps her nails and toes done, and watches what she eats and exercises on a daily basis to keep herself in good shape.

Georgianne likes to party, a bit too much. She likes to drink and have fun, and enjoys the company of handsome men. She's a bit too free with her love sometimes, and is always in some sort of failing relationship. Georgianne really does want to fall in love one day, but just isn't at a point in her life where she can settle down or take anyone seriously for more than a few months at a time. Her fidelity issues and the fact she has no qualms about stealing someone else's man definitely doesn't help her find lasting relationships.

Even though she is somewhat immature and can seem like a dysfunctional adult, Georgianne takes her job seriously. She understands that she has to work for the things that she wants, and rarely misses her shift unless there is something genuinely wrong with her. Georgianne keeps things professional (unless she is trying to flirt with one of the other ministry workers) and doesn't take her job lightly. She is fully aware that if she admits the wrong person to the wrong section of the ministry, that serious consequences could occur. It's an interesting contrast to the way she lives the rest of her life, and the only insight that she was raised by good parents and that she has potential to go somewhere and be somebody better than what she is at the moment.

    History:
Parental Background: Amie Chevalier was born to a French father and Brazilian mother. The two met while her father was doing research in Brazil. He worked for a pharmaceutical company. After marrying, and discovering that they were with child, the two moved to London where the pharmaceutical company's headquarters was stationed. Their daughter would eventually be discovered to be a witch and sent to Hogwarts, where she would graduate as a Ravenclaw.

Bradley Sleeper was born of a witch mother and a wizard father. He grew up in a small wizarding town in the English countryside.  Bradley's mother ran a daycare for wizarding children, and his father was a mediwizard. He was a Hufflepuff graduate. He met Amie in school, and the two fell in love and married soon after graduating. Amie opened a book shop in Diagon, she and Bradley moved into the upstairs apartment. (Magically enhanced to be much more spacious than it looked.) He followed in his father's footsteps, becoming a trained mediwizard as well.

Childhood Georgianne was born about six years after her parents married. She was the first and only child that they would have. A beautiful girl, owing her beauty to her multiracial background. Her mother taught her to read at an early age, and allowed her to help out around the shop. It seemed Georgianne, like her parents, was going to be a bright young girl with an exciting future ahead of her.

She got along well with other children, and although she did get everything she wanted, did not have a deserving or spoiled attitude. Georgianne obeyed her parents, and allowed them to make her decisions for her most of the time. She trusted their judgment, and loved them dearly. When it came time for her to go to Hogwarts, she was sad, unsure of what the future would bring. But ready to face the world head on, and make the best of it- just as her parents had encouraged her to do.

Hogwarts The sorting hat saw it fit to put Georgianne into Hufflepuff. She was proud to be a part of the same house her father had been a part of, and settled into the routine of school very well. She made friends without discriminating, and did fairly well in her classes. While she wasn't particularly skilled at anything, she was competent in all of her subjects and was passing everything with relative ease.

As she got older, she became more self conscious of her looks. She was tall for her age, thin, and felt like an overgrown boy. Georgianne always felt like a giant in comaprison to her peers, and would often slouch to hide it. Though her mother and father reassured she would grow into a woman, she had a hard time believing them. Especially when she got teased for being a giantess.

She tried to stand up for herself, and didn't lash out at others for it. Her mother and father had taught her to be tolerant of others and to learn not to let things bother her. Georgianne mostly stuck to her small group of friends, and focused on school.

Near the end of her sixth year, close to the age of seventeen, Georgianne began to understand what her parents told her about. Her angles softened as she gained weight in the right places, and certain areas of her body expanded. When she looked in the mirror she saw a pretty young woman, and not an awkward teenager. It was a shock to Georgianne, and she didn't know how to process the suddent interest she received from boys. Guys who used to make fun of her were suddenly befriending her, and Georgianne, who had no experience with them, was very easy to dupe.

She had a string of boyfriend throughout her sixth and seventh years. Georgianne developed a loose reputation as a result of this, and never seemed to quite understand what was so wrong with having fun and enjoying the attention while she was receiving it. Her mother and father constantly warned her about being careful, and during breaks wouldn't let her go out with her friends as often as she would have liked. Angry at her parents for keeping her locked up, Georgianne began to rebel.

All of the strict rules and regulations were thrown out the window, and she began to sneak out to go out with her boyfriends or her girls from school. She would go to wizarding night clubs, hang out and drink, and do all the things that a rebellious teen was supposed to do. Georgianne was being constantly grounded and chastised by her parents for being disobedient. They tried to encourage her to behave, to reign herself in before she got out of control.

Georgianne couldn't wait to graduate. She wanted out of "prison" that was home. She felt like her mom and dad just didn't understand what it was like to be young and in need of freedom. She resolved that as soon as she graduated, she would move out and be on her own and live her life the way she wanted.

Post-Graduation After graduating, Georgianne reluctantly returned home, scouring the Daily Prophet for a job. Eventually an opening at the ministry caught her eye- as the welcome witch. It was an easy job, Monday through Friday, and she could get off early. And have the weekends to party. So Georgianne put on her nicest robes, and went for the interview.

She could be charming when she wanted to, and she charmed her way into the position with flying colors. After saving her money for a couple of months, Georgianne moved out of her parents house and into an upstairs apartment a couple of blocks from the ministry. Her landlord was a sweet old lady that was hard of hearing, and didn't pry into her business. She couldn't get up and down the stairs, so she rented out the upstairs. It had it's own private entrance, and Georgianne was given the privacy she wanted. It was bliss. Georgianne had her own money, she had her own place, and finally had the freedom she had been craving. And with all of it, she began to live her life on the principle that fun came first.

Georgianne started spending every weekend partying, and what money she had left after bills went to buying alcohol when she went out and expanding her wardrobe. Now that she knew she was pretty, she chased after every man that caught her eye. Her loose reputation at Hogwarts, that wasn't necessarily earned then, had been well earned now.

Even so, Georgianne kept herself presentable at work and kept a professional attitude. She often flirted with workers as they came and went by her desk, often trying to lure them into her clutches for a few nights of fun. It worked sometimes, and sometimes it didn't, but it never bothered her either way. Even though Georgianne's morals in that area were questionable, she was easy to get along with. She made friends well, and was good at maintaining her friendships and getting along with people. Charming and personable, unless someone interacted with her on a daily (or nightly) basis, they wouldn't guess her extracurricular activities.

About a year has passed since Georgianne found herself employed at the ministry, and she still loves every minute of it.

About The Job: Georgianne is the welcome witch at the ministry of magic. She is charming, personable, and surprisingly responsible when it comes to work. She keeps track of who comes in and out of the ministry, preventing those without proper clearance from entering, and directs people int he right direction. She applied for it shortly after graduating, winning the position due to her charm and willingness to take the position without asking for a high amount of pay. Georgianne wasn't particularly experienced when she was hired, but now she is a good office aid.

Sum up your character in one paragraph: Georgianne is a rebellious teen. She's mostly immature for her age, concerned with having fun and making the most out of life. She has no real long term goals (though she would like to get into fashion in one way or another) and when she isn't at the ministry, spends her time partying or shopping. Even though she has lots of flaws, she's got a good heart and is genuinely nice to others and very open minded and tolerant.
