First off, Hello! Hello, hi, cheers, buongiorno, hola, bonjour, etc. etc. etc.

Tell the Puffers I said 'ello, would you?  And grab Misty, if you haven't already.  Yank Fig's ear if he's nearby, will ya?

My two dearest friends, my two dearest companions in the whole wide sodding world.  I miss you.

Mum's been keeping me underfoot the second she heard the word fire.  I've hardly been able to get to pinches of parchment to even scribble a shout, much less everything that's been happening lately.  Ms. Crouch, when she's not in Romania, says I shouldn't say too much.  And the aurors want me to say everything, it's hard knowing when to not open my mouth to breathe these days.  Professor Nagde came by too, she was well good with tellin' my mums not to worry.  Josie's spending half her time reminding Mum that I'm not a terrible kid.  Just restless.  That's been my word of the month, here.

How are you? Have you been back to the wardrobe room? How are classes going? Well dry, I bet.  Are you still causing trouble? How was the Halloween dance? I bet you were wonderful.  And Misty? Did you two go together? God I wish I could've been there.  How's Mainwaring? I bet he misses me tons.

I've got a surprise next time I see you, two. Just wait, you'll be on the cobbles, laughing. Are they going to let you come to the trial? Oh please, it'd be great to see you two again.  Exile is awful.  On top of everything, Lizzy's trying to go vegan again.   I'm dying for a Hogwarts Ham.  I'd ask you to send a meal but I'm afraid Cere would peck it to pieces.  Apparently they have a vegan line of owl food, too, don't we know it.

Tell me EVERYTHING! I'll be in the hotel for the next week or so, leading up to the trial.  You should see it, I couldn't set a fire if my life depended on it, they've spelled everything against it.

I have missed you so much!!

This year has been, ah… interesting. I really wish you were here. I’m so sorry you’ve been bored! Ollie’s been really bored too. We should all get together over break… it can’t come soon enough!

There’s so much I want to say, I don’t even know where to start. I’d like to come to the trial, but… well, when is it? I’m worried I won’t be able to go while I’m at school because Snark has banned me from pretty much everything but going to class. No more Hogsmeade trips, no dances, no looking at her the wrong way. Just long detentions cleaning up the Infir    doing her laundry. She has pajamas with green crocodiles on them, reminds me of her.

Just kidding! About the laundry (that would be weird). She does remind me of a crocodile.

Anyway, I’ve got detentions for a number of things. Sneaking out with Devlin, Sasha, and Bea. Oh and being blamed for the crazy stuff that happened at the dance, that I didn’t do. Someone spiked the polyjuice punch and turned everyone into wolves. You heard about that right?

Oh! The dance. Yeah, so the dance. Mysti and I didn’t end up going together after all. We, shocker of shocker, both got dates. Um… she went with Trent. Trench coat Trent! Please talk some sense into her. Please.

I… went with Devlin. As in Matthews. As in Devlin Matthews! We’ve sorta been… flirting for a while now but I never expected he’d ask me to the dance. It’s so, I’m just… I’m happy about that.

Now I have to figure out if we’re a… you know, ‘thing’ or not. And what people do on dates. Besides snog.

Um, so! I sent you a picture of me in my Halloween costume. I also sent you a few brownies made by one of my favorite people ever. I’ll tell you about her when I see you!

Classes are alright. We have a new Divination teacher and a new CoMC teacher. I’m not really sure about how I feel about them. I did something stupid the first day that the new CoMC prof was here, so I think he thinks I’m an idiot now. The Divination prof said something about his subject being rubbish… I’m still trying to figure out if that means I should be offended or not. I’m actually good at Divination, you know?

Anyway! I miss you so much. Can’t wait to see you. Write back soon!

Truely though hope you get to come back to Hoggies once its all over.  things are strange here without you prof Gunnar and Ollie.

OMH, we definitely should.  Maybe you guys could stay with me in the hotel? I'm sure Liz wouldn't mind at all! Oh I miss our slumberparties.  I've got a killer net set of jams, too, with wailing penguins on them.  I miss you so much! Sometimes at night I talk to them pretending it's just you in a penguin hat.  It would not surprise me in the least if you actually have one, too!

Trent?!?! Mysti went with that bas trai that skunk! What a double-crosser! Tell Mysti, better yet I'll send her a right howler to stay away from that fink!  Did you know he was there when I set the ferm, you know, the thing at the Infirmary!!! I'm sooooooooo sorry you have to clean up my mess, but he was there! And he was sposed to stick with me! Well Fig was too, but I don't blame him for keepin' his nose out of trouble, that was the whole point of sneakin' around and what not and with what happened to his folks, well, anyway, he's a huff and he's true even if he can't be and well TRENT WAS NOT!!!!   He's a no good rat fink and he was probably going to ask ME to the dance well I don't know he was so sweet but now tell Mysti to BE CAREFUL! He's not in Huff for a reason, you know!  And well, well, you just tell her. 

And you with Devlin? I'm happy for you, for sure, but you be careful too.  I swear, the second I leave Hogwarts you two just start getting up to all kinds of trouble without me.  I bet those wolves were killer, though.  And if you don't know if you're a thing or not, just tell him! March right up to the Slythern dorms and tell Mr. Matthews that you two are a bonafide, legitimate, right solid item whether he likes it or not.  And if he doesn't, then he is missing out on a hell of a Huff. 

I think you should be a Divination Professor.  If the new one is as much as a quack as you say, the job will surely be open when you graduate! Just think--Professor Blake.  Sounds perfect! And you're not an idiot.  You're beautiful, and I miss you soooooooooo much!

P.S. The halloween costume is gorgeous, I wish I could have been there!

I don't have a penguin hat, but I do have a polar bear hat . It's white and fluffy and the mouth is open (I like to imagine it's about to chomp Neely in half whenever she stares at me for wearing it >.>) Heh heh.

Oh! I frogot forgot to tell you we had a sleepover thing for Mysti the weekend of Halloween. I painted Bombay's nails (er, don't ask), and Neely and her friends crashed the party, and just because I laughed at her she decided to attack me with a makeover. It only lasted for a day or so, I assure you.

I know! I know right! Trent is so... yuck. He was a complete butt monkey at Mysti's masquerade. You should have HEARD what he said! He was being gross as  usual and all I could say was something really lame. Plus he was a jerk to Ayla? I'm not sure what happened there. But UGH. We need to help Mysti find someone better.

Aw, Darcy! You're making me blush. I miss you too! I don't care about the infirmiry, I really don't. Snark is just being a harpy, and if she didn't make us clean the infirmiry, she'd find something equally horrible for us to do.

I will think about your advice about Devlin. Lou's trying to convince me to go on a double date thing over the winter break... which involves asking Devlin. Eeeeeep! Why. Why can't I use my amazing Divination skills and put the idea in his brain so he asks first (that really sounded creepy didn't it).

Anyway, I love ya! If I can't be there for the trial, I know at least that Tulo, Knoxxy, Fig... nice people will be there who care about you!

Darcy,

You know I was tempted to send you a howler. How could you write a letter to just Fauna and not me!? You know, the girl who dealt with your horrible foot odor and ear splitting snoring for almost 5 years? I am insulted ma'am, insulted to my core!

But I miss you so much that I can't help but write you. There is so few of us in the dorm room now that I want to cry sometimes. Makes me wonder who is the next to go. Considering Snark's hatred towards me and anyone else from SAWS, I am sure I am the next to go. I bet Fauna has told you about how SAWS was framed for the Halloween prank. Absolute BS. I think someone is trying to set us up, but I can't be sure.

Been trying to get the school paper off the ground, but I have to tread lightly because Snark strikes me as the type to expect creative control. I would do it behind her back but it isn't something I can afford readily. Maybe if one of the teachers financed it... hm, something to look into right?

I am hoping to see you in Hogsmeade sometime soon. I don't think they will like us interacting, but I will find a way. I miss you.

PS Did Fauna tell you that she was dating that git Matthews? It just bewilders the hell out of me... what she sees in him mind you. I think Fauna deserves better.

MY DEAREST DARCY!

I’m sorry the letter has taken a while to get to you, things have been a little... crazy. I’m sure you know more crazy than I do!  I miss you and our adventures so much!

Now, haven’t been to the wardrobe room, classes are classes (you know how they go). Not too much trouble being caused. And the dance was better than I could imagine. Didn’t go with Fauna, though you probably heard that from her already. I went with Trent Travis.

Now, don’t be angry. I know he wasn’t too much help when he was at the fire scene. But  AND YOU CAN’T TELL ANYONE THIS! I ran into him a bit after that, and he seemed actually quite upset about it. I mean, there was a fire and a girl he kind of knew that set it. I think he was a little freaked and didn’t know what to do. But I could tell he was sorry.

And, well. We kind of kissed. I KNOW! I kissed a Slytherin! But it wasn’t bad. You might be retching now, but he’s actually kind of sweet. You wouldn’t expect it. So he asked if I wanted to go to the dance with him and I said yes. And we had fun. Well, until people started turning into werewolves and a fire was started. Then we just left and kind of talked and might have kissed again.

But really, he’s not as bad as everyone thinks. He even got me a pretty bracelet for my birthday! Granted, he might have upset Ayla, but he did say he wanted to be there since it was my birthday. I think he’s a bit afraid to show his soft side. But he shows me and he’s been nice to me, so I hope you can get that. So please don’t hate me for seeing him!

ANYWAYS. We need to get together at least over break. I miss you so much! You have to keep me updated on the trial and what happens. Hopefully they won’t be too harsh on you.

And don’t be trying to set things on fire, even if it is protected. Be safe!
