[Nov 10] An Important conversation (Scirey)

on April 22, 2010, 09:20:50 AM

Sam was nervous. He had sent an owl to his niece, Scirey, to meet him at Harcroft Manor, and she was due to arrive at any minute. So why was he nervous? Well, he wanted to commission Scirey to paint a portrait of himself. Now, that might seem vain of him, but every Harcroft in history (except, to his knowledge, his deceased sister) had commissioned a painting if themselves to advise future generations. Indeed, he was in the gallery of the portraits painted previously at the moment.

You about to commission your portrait at last, son? You’ve been gambling for too long on yourself not dying before your portrait was painted. He heard, that was his father, Joshua Harcroft, yes, his father had the same name as his son, family tradition, or rather, his father's portrait.

“yes, dad, I am going to commission Scirey to paint my portrait today. You and mother will be able to badger my portrait soon enough. Hopefully then you will stop badgering me." he said, with a long-suffering sigh. Then, he headed to the entrance hall of the manor to await Scirey's arrival.
