[October 23] Beginnings are always messy [Open]

The door opened nearly soundlessly as Anna pushed it open, a small box of personal belongings balanced against her hip to free up one hand.  There was a large window on one side of the room letting in enough sun light that for now she wouldn’t have to resort to other forms of illumination.  The interim Healer-in-Charge had told her he hadn’t spent much time in the office so it had been relatively untouched since September.

Crossing to the desk, she set the box down, her eyes travelling over to the large bookshelf behind it.  There were various journals and professional tomes, probably all owned by the hospital.  She was sure between that and the books she had collected over the years in her travels there would be little else she would be able to ask for.  Deciding focusing on the books for a moment would take her mind off of her first day jitters she made her way around the desk to the shelf.

Her fingers trailed across the spines of the books, and landed on a recently revised edition of a study of cases of spell damage related to the Dark Arts.  During the war she had spent countless hours scouring old editions of the book as well as similar ones, but during her time abroad the need had not been so great.  Starting to retrieve it from it’s place on the shelf she was surprised when a cloud of dust few up, causing her hand to fall away as she sneezed.

The last time she had been in the hospital, Rita had been prying into the private lives of one Jason Marren and his 'friend' Miranda Elliott. Rita held a hand to her heart at the thought of the late healer, as her own little mark of respect at the woman's passing. Walking along the fourth floor corridor, her mind flashed back to the last encounter she had with the spell damage ward. Her meeting with Healer Elliott to sabotage Jason Marren, and the incident with the polyjuice potion were all very fresh in her mind still.

She smirked to herself as she arrived at the oh-so-familiar office door. Though this time, someone else resided inside, and she was here on totally different business. A sharp rap of her knuckles to the door was followed by a quick adjustment of her handbag on her arm and the straightening of her rhinestone glasses on her nose.
