Figaro's determination cracked a smile.  He knew he could count on Xavier to back him up.  Wasn't many people who'd be completely on board with sneaking out of school, going to London and breaking into a store in Knockturn Ally.  And frankly, there were even fewer people who'd actually be of any help.

"Good!" he said, perking up, feeling motivated and having something more to focus on than the fact that his whole family was disgraced and the whole school knew about it.  He did fail to realize, of course, that his plan of action would only reinforce the notion that Sellaphix's were criminals.

"You should come with me.  Two'd be better for look-outs and protection and that.  Plus, you're better with a wand and know Knockturn better than I do.  My folks never let me explore any, and your uncle didn't give a crap." Figaro shrugged.  It was the way of the world.

"I've got a key hidden in the ally behind still, I think.  They probably didn't find it if they searched it.  Isn't Josh Harcroft's dad an Auror? I wonder if Josh'd know what kind of spells they put on a crime scene..."

Figaro's face darkened a moment.  It would severely suck to see his parent's shop wrapped up like a crime scene.

"We might have to wait awhile, until after the Aurors hand it back over to my mom."

"But you're in right? You'll come with me?"

Xavier's own interest had peaked when Figaro began to light up. He nodded along listening to every detail. As Figaro mentioned Harcroft Xavier started to turn over everything he knew of the other fifth year in his head. His father had been a strong Auror in his prime but left his Senior post during the Second War, Xavier was sure Samuel Harcroft had returned to the crimson cloaks but he knew well enough from his uncle that Tamis Raynor was now in charge and he had heard very little of Harcroft. Even if Josh's dad was still a functioning Auror it was too risky to question him. Xavier wasn't going to take a risk that Josh would become suspicious at his questioning and use Xavier's family history as a basis for giving his father a heads up that something might be going down. Now that Xavier thought about it he'd have a better chance getting answers out of Josh's little brother Charles.

He nodded once more, a little more firmly this time, "Aye, we should wait, give time fer thee scene ta calm down and fer things to start goin back to normal. If yer father's still in jail by thee time we can get out there yer mom might have some extra protection put around thee shop when they hand it back to her." He scratched at his chin absently thinking the effect would be more dramatic if he had a neatly groomed tuft of hair to run his fingernails through.

"I'm definitely in. We should go later on, maybe next month. We'll use thee floo network on a day that all thee other kids are down in Hogsmede. We'll figure out who's chaperoning them and use their fireplace, less chance they'll walk in on use when we're on our way out. We can stop in the Chimera, I'll let my uncle know we're coming in for a visit and we can wait there till yer Dad's shop closes fer the night. If we time it right we should be in out and back in our common rooms in time fer lights out."
