[October 17] Making a Speedy Recovery with Firewhiskey

on February 27, 2010, 11:09:20 PM

Recovery had been rough this month. it was the closest she had been to civilization in months. The fourteen had been a brutal night and when word of a werewolf attack in Hogsmede surfaced she had had her own little freak out party. By the thirteenth Lexus had made her way into the forbidden forrest unaware that it bordered a Wizarding school. The large expense of wood had called to her and she had been able to find a place to settle in without disturbing the wildlife too much for her transformation. In the morning she had blood in her mouth and flesh under her fingernails. Fortunately the small part of her mind that had accepted her condition was able to make sense of it and let her know that the blood was simply that of a rabbit she had managed to eat for dinner the night before.

On the fifteenth she had felt particularly run down and stayed in the small den she had found recovering her pack of supplies and clothes she had made sure to tuck away before transforming. She had spent most of the day huddled up in her hole recovering from the aches and pain she was now accustomed to. On top of the usual pain that came after a night out as a wolf Lexus had found a few hoof shaped bruises on her arms and legs which led her to belief she had pissed off one of the centaurs that also made this wood their home. It was another reason she decided to stay shut away for the day, she didn't need to have any centaurs coming down on her when she couldn't control what happened during a full moon.

The sixteenth she had begun to feel better and finally ventured out of the wood. She had discovered the large castle she hadn't taken much attention to when she first came to this area and was in an even more panicked state when she discovered the castle was very much inhabited by none other than young witches and wizards. She had no idea what she would have done with herself if she had attacked one of those children. Steering clear of the castle grounds Lexus ventured into the quaint little town that seemed to be nestled into the other side of the woods. She was appalled with herself that she had decided to take refuge a wood that was surrounded by hundreds if not thousands of inhabitants. It was that kind of carelessness that had gotten her into this mess in the first place. If she hadn't been so careless back home she wouldn't have had to flee the country.

She spent most of her day watching those in the village and doing what she could to make sure she was presentable looking. Having trudged through the woods for months on end make you a little desensitized to how rugged you could look. The end of the night found her settling into a comfy bed at the Three Broomsticks. It had been the first actual bed she had slept in in close to six months. Usually she stayed away from villages like this, especially since this one was a strictly wizarding village but her cravings to be with other people had won out.

Lexus had indulged in the comfy bed and slept well into the afternoon. When she finally came downstairs to the main pub it was already heavy with regulars. Lexus had been wearing a simple outfit of flared black pants, boots, a simple white top and a black shrug overtop covering the scars that covered most of her back. Her hair was kind of haphazard but in an attractive sort of fashion. She sidled up to the bar wishing she could order a bottle of Winterbrew but had to settle for firewhiskey instead. She glanced around the at the other patrons wondering if her voice still worked after all this time
