((Note: Since  I am creating this character specifically to become a werewolf, I am combining the Student, Adult and Werewolf applications.))

Full Character Name: Eveline Marie Chancelier

Character Birthday & Age: May 10, 1993; 17

City & Country of Birth: Born in Montpellier, France; family moved to Liverpool when Eveline was four.

Pureblood, Halfblood or Muggleborn?: Pure (Relations: The Dark family, the McAdams family, the Forrester family.)

House and Year: Hufflepuff, 7th year (she will be pulled from school before completing the year)

How Do You Fit Into Your House?: Eveline has been raised as a snobby Pureblood; but she vaguely senses that something is missing in her life. She does have a softer side as befits a true Hufflepuff; for a long time she was the only one in her family who seemed to care about her little brother Razzy. She has a social conscience too. When the chips are down she will trust her Housemates and their friends more than she does the social butterflies she is used to running around with.

Job: First a student, then unemployed. And after that...?

First Impression: Any odd/outstanding features? Very attractive but knows it, which detracts from that first impression. In wolf form she is pale and silvery, with blue eyes.

Personality Description: Spoiled rotten, waited on hand and foot since birth and believes she is entitled to deference just by virtue of being a Chancelier.  She becomes very angry if someone challenges her beliefs; which indicates that deep down she knows they may be wrong. She is defensive because those beliefs are what she has been taught at home, and she fears if she does not live up to them she will never make a good marriage. She thinks the only suitable purpose in life is to marry well and raise more little Purebloods. And since she sorted Hufflepuff, that is already two strikes against her…

History:


The Chanceliers are an old Pureblood family, originally French in nationality. Francis De La Fontaine and Reynaud Chancelier, VII had two children and were satisfied with that. Philip…the oldest by six years…would grow up to to inherit the family fortune. As for Eveline…she would be taught style, grace and manners, and someday be married off to the man of her parents’ choice, creating yet another alliance in the tangled web of Pureblood relations. 

However…a third child was born. At the time Eveline was in the midst of the Terrible Two’s and had all the predictable tantrums, wanting Mummy to take the baby back to the store and bring her a pony instead. But eventually she outgrew all that and became Razzy’s advocate. She could relate to him because she felt that her parents had no interest in her for herself, only as a commodity to be bargained off in an arranged marriage.

When Eveline was a small girl she heard whispers about her Aunt Audrey’s husband, but Eveline was too young to understand. As she grew older and understood that he was in Azkaban, she noticed that her parents seemed to feel this reflected upon them, and they were very cold to Aunt Audrey and her daughters. They were never invited to parties or family dinners. By then Eveline was old enough to realize that this was stupid, but she had no say.

When Eveline was finally accepted at Hogwarts her parents made a big fuss over her, taking her on a whirlind shopping spree in London so she would be tres chic. However she recognized this for what it was…guilt. Like many such children, she is not above using that guilt to get her way. She was sorted into Hufflepuff, as was her brother when he followed her two years later. Her cousins were Sorted into other Houses so she has not had much chance to get to know them. But fortunately she and Razzy can continue to be there for each other.

Eveline is not brilliant in classes, but she passed her OWL’s with mostly A’s, and a couple of E’s. It is not that she is stupid or even lazy…exams scare the pants off her and she never does as well as she should. This is partly because she has been indoctrinated all her life that the man is expected to be the smart one in the family. Just look at her Papa the Auror…

Eveline is expecting to graduate at the end of Spring term, with the rest of her class. However…before that happens she will be struck by a dart in a case of mistaken identity, and think little of it at the time as it feels no worse than a beesting. She will not realize she has been infected with werewolf saliva until the next Full Moon. She will just think she has really bad PMS…

However when she looks in the mirror and realizes what is happening, she will run to her Housemates, her brother and her cousins for help; and they will find her a place to be locked up where Snark will not find out. They will confide in a staff member who will advise her to register, which she fully intends to do.

But when her parents find out their main concern is to avoid a scandal. Her father has just been promoted to Senior Auror; and he fears that having a werewolf in the family would not look so good right now. So…Mom and Dad imprison her at home...not just during the Full Moon but 24/7. Eventually...with help from Razzy and her new friends...she will escape and turn herself in. Her parents will be fined but not imprisoned, due to her “safe room” being up to Ministry standards. However since she chooses to go public by registering, they and   her brother Philip want nothing more to do with her. The feeling is mutual.

What is your occupation? How do you go about it? How did you get your current occupation? How does your past and abilities justify your current skills?: At present  Eveline is a student; however due to her parents’ ignorance and Snark’s werewolf policy that is about to change. Eventually...to the utter dismay of her parents...she will apply as a trainee for the werewolf capture unit. In the beginning she has no abilities or skills to justify being in such a position except that she is a werewolf herself…and has a strong desire to get even with the people behind the dart attacks.

Where does your character spend the most time?: First Hogwarts, then locked up at home, and then in a Ministry Safe House.

Is your character a dark creature?: Not deliberately. However as a werewolf, she will have dark tendencies.

If yes, please list crimes likely to be committed: Though she will comply with Ministry regulations, the combination of aggressiveness, high adrenaline and irrationality may cause her to act out at other times than the Full Moon. Property damage is more likely than that she will actually hurt someone. However she may use the fear of physical harm to her advantage...

Writing Sample:Show your character in a scene that illustrates the best and worst aspects of their personality. Include action, dialog and thought.

Sum up your character in one paragraph: Eveline has grown up believing she is queen of all she surveys and that if anyone is less fortunate than her, no doubt they deserve it. She is very bright but lazy, both mentally and physically. Then again...having been waited on hand and foot since birth...she never had cause to be anything else. Oddly enough, being a werewolf may actually make her more human.
