[Oct 11] Minister Annwyl Announces New Werewolf Legislation on January 30, 2010, 06:54:33 PM Saturday, October 11, 2008Minister Annwyl Announces New Werewolf Legislationby The Daily ProphetThis is a transcript of information provided by Minister of Magic Marcus Annwyl on the press conference this morning. "Thank you all for coming. I realize that this press conference was a little short notice, so please forgive me. We have much to talk about here today. I'm sure some or most of you have heard rumblings of some kind of new legislation. Well, let me put the rumors and hearsay to rest and tell you all right here that yes, there is a new piece of legislation that has been in the works for the better part of this year.""Change can be stressful. Whether it's a new job, second chances, or more specifically coping with an affliction, there are always new challenges associated with it. There can also be problems that arise. I'm speaking, of course, of our valued werewolf population. For them, it's especially difficult to cope. It's a change in lifestyle, one with several negative stigmas attached. 'Will I find Wolfsbane in time', 'Will there be an available Safe House', 'Why don't I have anyone to talk to about this'. All very important questions, and all deserving of answers."This new piece of legislation will hopefully answer some of the questions that are being asked everyday. If this passes, we will see an increase in the amount of Safe Houses. We'll see at least double what is currently out there at the moment. I want to make sure that there will always be a place for someone to go on the night of a full moon.""We will see an increase in Dispenseries, to make sure that anyone will be able to get their hands on the necessary Wolfsbane.""For those that seek it, there will be counseling sessions to assist in the process for those who are new to the change.""The Capture Unit has been under much discussion. To assume that there will be no violent offenders is ignorant. To assume that none of them will take advantage of their transformation is equally ignorant. For those that are beyond reason, for those that can't merely be spoken to, will have to deal with the Capture Unit. This newly revised Capture Unit will be a joint venture between two departments, the Department for Magical Law Enforcement, as well as the Department for the Care of Magical Creatures. The Head of the Aurors, Tamis Raynor, has been most gracious in ensuring that the new team get some training time with the Aurors. Department Head Covadonga Gertrudis has also taken much consideration to ensure that the new team will also be better educated in the matters they will be attending to.""It is with great pleasure that I introduce the new Head of the Capture Unit, Vane Hendric."Editor's Note: At this point, Vane Hendric was introduced and Minister Annwl breifly expounded on his traits. There was significant controversy when it was revealed that Vane Hendric was also a werewolf. But Minister Annwyl was sure to point out that has served on a number of Specialist Teams across Europe and Asia, and that as a man also afflicted with Lycanthropy, he understands how they move and fight. He also understands the more feral nature that seems to creep into the psyche of those that can change. He has over 50 years of experience and will be a very positive asset.*This article was written by Marcus Annwyl aka Chris Skip to next post
